Resumen
The objective of this work is to empirically verify the incidence of the degree of innovation, management of human resources, and management control on financial performance. For this, a study was carried out with19,703 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the hotel sector in Mexico. The findings show that the variables of technological innovation and management control system explain their influence on financial performance, which can be considered a sustainable competitive advantage for these types of companies. These results support the assumptions that establish innovation and management control as sustainable competitive advantages. These successes can be useful for entrepreneurs, as they verify the need to innovate as a competitiveness strategy. Finally, this information is of interest to public management as a promoter of innovation support programs.

Resumen
In 2016, the United States Congress created the possibility of lowering Puerto Rico‘s nominal minimum wage from $7.25 to $4.25 per hour for young people under the age of 25. This study evaluates the effect of changes in the minimum wage on inter-industrial employment in Puerto Rico, in the period from 1991 to 2010. Dynamic panel regressions were used as statistical methods for the evaluation of relations between variables. The results suggest that increases in the minimum wage are associated with increases in employment in the construction, transportation, and wholesale industries; in contrast, increases in the minimum wage are associated with reductions in employment, in industry such as manufacturing, services, and public administration.

Resumen
This paper examines the perceived enjoyment of college students toward ads in online social networks. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 147 students from a higher education institution in Puerto Rico. The research ex-amined the social influence variables and the advertising-related variables in online social networks. Findings indicate that perceived enjoyment of college students positively affects the group norms, group intention, perceived ad relevance and response to social networks ads. In this way, the ads can be directed to consumers according to their interests, values, and beliefs within the virtual community, thus maximizing the use of social networks as a digital marketing tool.

Resumen
The objective of this research was to make a diagnosis of the use of human capital practices in the SMEs of the Federal District to understand their adoption by this business sector as well as to establish their relationship to the size of the companies and the entrepreneur‘s level of education. Transversal descriptive research was carried out with data collection through fieldwork applying a structured survey, to a sample of 300 volunteering companies. The main findings demonstrate that human capital practices are starting to be used especially in micro-sized companies; and that there is a positive relationship between the size of the company and the entrepreneur‘s level of education with the use of an organizational chart. Within the framework of the ICT revolution, it is proposed to analyze its impact on Argentine firms, based on three objectives: identification of the level of use of basic ICT applications, the level of decision-making using information systems and the information technology governance‘s focus on the relevance of the functionality of the information systems in the firms. Three dimensions of analysis are presented: the size of the firms, the sector of the economy in which they operate, and the composition of their capital. The empirical map product of this work is of a contribution for the academic field, for the segment of the ICT offer, and for the public sector.

Resumen
This research comparatively studies the competitiveness of the tourism industry between Puerto Rico (PR) and the Dominican Republic (DR). Fifty-three indicators are used through the application of an improved methodology. The study found that: (1) both competitors have five similar strategies and four dissimilar strategies to attract tourists; (2) PR is more competitive nationally than DR in conditions of factors (CF) and in conditions of demand (CD), and DR exceeds PR in related industries and support (RIS) and in structure of firms, strategy, and rivalry (SFSR); and (3) PR is more competitive internationally than DR in three constructs (SFSR, RIS, and CD) and has a pillar with similar levels than RD (FC). Finally, this research points out certain recommendations to each country that could contribute to improve their global tourism competitiveness.

Resumen
Through the structural decomposition developed by Blanchard and Quah (1989), this paper studies the effects of the impulses associated with the Taylor‘s rule of the United States and the supply and demand in Puerto Rico on the dynamics of the unemployment and inflation on the Island. According to the results, in the short run, unemployment responds mostly to the unanticipated shocks of the monetary policy rule in the United States and the supply shocks. Inflation also responds to this rule and the impulses associated with aggregate demand. In the long run, unemployment is declining, and inflation is accelerating mainly in the face of an unanticipated expansion of U.S. monetary policy caused by the establishment of the Taylor rule.

Resumen
The objective of this research is to analyze the forms of financing for entrepreneurs in the present through the crowdfunding model. This 21st century tool allows the obtainment of resources to implement new projects and business ideas worldwide through web campaigns. A qualitative and quantitative mixed approach was used, with exploratory and descriptive research, reviewing the most current bibliography. The survey was used as an instrument and it was carried out in the city of Guayaquil, the most productive city in Ecuador. It is concluded that there is still ignorance regarding this model in its different variants, mainly in Latin American countries, needing to implement information campaigns so that the benefits of crowdfunding are socialized.
