The aim of this study was to design and validate an instrument of observation that would allow us to measure and quantify student misconduct during classes of physical education. This process of validation was carried out in several phases. Six expert judges in physical education teaching and four observers trained to measure student misconduct in physical education lessons participated in the process, analysing ten physical education lessons of sixth and ninth grade from ten different schools, settings the structure of the instrument through confirmatory procedures. The final instrument consisted of eight items describing different kinds of student misconduct during physical education classes, grouped into two categories (violent behaviours and undisciplined and disinterested behaviours). The results obtained in the process of validation, reliability and internal consistency suggest that the instrument designed is optimally useful and reliable to measure student misconduct during physical education classes, allowing its application without the presence of the investigator in the classroom, thus minimizing its effect on the behaviour of the student body.

The objective of the investigation was to adapt, implement and measure the impact of a selfcare training program based on mindfulness, in wellbeing, life satisfaction, stress and burn-out levels of teachers and other educational professionals. The training was implemented in four schools, with 22 participants and 21 participants in the control group. Results show that those who received the intervention had a statistically significant increase on life satisfaction and a decrease on stress, compared to the control group. No signifi cant effects on well-being and burnout were observed.

The paper presents a case study of a school of educational compensation, at the level of secondary education. The objective is to identify the extent to which family, school and classroom supports determine the engagement of students. First, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 professors, and the constructs collected from the academic literature were contextualized. Secondly, this information was used to elaborate (adapt) the questionnaires, which were applied to all the students. The data showed a predominant effect of the support in the classroom, suggesting that the actions of the teaching staff in this type of schools transcend the boundaries of the classroom.

The subject of mathematics is highly valued socially. However, it suffers the rejection of students and obtains a low performance in the school curriculum. This research aims to analyse the predictive value in academic performance of variables such as attitude, sex and profession and studies of parents. A casual non-probabilistic sampling was applied to 2.549 high school students. Subsequently, descriptive, correlational and predictive analyses were carried out. The results show the importance of attitude, pleasure and usefulness of mathematics, although the profession and studies of parents influence differently depending on sex.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the predictive value of approach coping on academic burnout and engagement dimensions in a sample of 775 students among different university grades of Educational Sciences. Spanish versions of the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), Utrecht Work Engagement Student Scale (UWES-SS) and Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI) were employed. The results show that most of the approach coping significantly and negatively predicts burnout but significantly and positively predicted engagement. The intervention programs have to consider those strategies to prevent burnout and to increase engagement.
