Fundamento: la adquisición de habilidades clínicas otorga al estudiante de Medicina las herramientas necesarias para su futuro desempeño.Objetivo: evaluar la realización de habilidades clínicas durante el examen práctico final de la asignatura Propedéutica Clínica y Semiología Médica en estudiantes de 3er año de la carrera de Medicina.Métodos: se realizó una investigación descriptiva transversal durante el curso 2015-2016 en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara. Del nivel teórico se utilizaron los métodos: histórico-lógico, analítico-sintético e inductivo-deductivo; y empíricos se utilizó la observación científica.Resultados: se identificaron deficiencias en la confección de la historia de la enfermedad actual, más del 50 % de los estudiantes fue evaluado de insuficiente en la realización del examen físico regional y del sistema neurológico. Más del 40 % fue catalogado de insuficiente en la indicación e interpretación de electrocardiograma.Conclusiones: se evaluó la realización de habilidades clínicas durante el examen práctico final de la asignatura Propedéutica Clínica y Semiología Médica en estudiantes de 3er año de la carrera de Medicina, y se constataron insuficiencias determinantes para el desempeño profesional.

This article presents arguments about the current needs of pathologists to acquire skills in the use of quantitative techniques for diagnosis and research, and highlights the potential of upgrading to help achieve this knowledge and skills that lead to better professional performance and level of response to the needs of the population.

Background: the management of adequate learning strategies is an essential factor for a meaningful and developing learning of university students.Objective: to design a didactic manual on learning strategies for the study of the contents of the subject Philosophy and Society I.Methods: a developing research was carried out within the qualitative approach, in the Medicine career, in "Lidia Doce Sánchez" Medical Sciences University Site of Sagua la Grande, from January 2015 to June 2016. Theoretical methods were used: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, historical-logical and modeling; empirical: survey in the form of questionnaire and observation; and mathematical ones, for absolute and relative values.Results: most of the surveyed students reported not having knowledge about the learning strategies and their application; the most used are repetition, summaries and underlining or shading of the contents; only few of them mention schemas and conceptual maps. Based on the difficulties detected, a didactic manual was designed as a bibliographic support on the subject.Conclusions: the elaborated manual includes 59 learning strategies for the study of the contents of the subject Philosophy and Society I. It was valued by the specialists as pertinent, feasible to use and with adequate scientific-methodological quality.

Background: arrhythmias are a public health problem throughout the world, due to their frequency, morbidity and mortality.Objective: to design educational software to contribute to the learning of pediatric arrhythmias in medical students.Methods: a development research was carried out in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara in the 2013-2014 academic year. Theoretical methods were used for the interpretation and processing of information and the theoretical referents of the subject; empirical: documentary analysis of the programs and methodological orientations, and for the evaluation of the product by specialists and users, the survey in its questionnaire modality.Results: the contents were determined according to the program of the subject, among them: anatomy of the heart, cardiac physiology, system of electrical conduction of the heart, reading of the electrocardiogram and arrhythmias and their characteristics, which were included according to software design in General, Arrhythmias, Books and Gallery.Conclusions: the product was valued by specialists as necessary and useful for teaching, of great applicability, with quality and depth in the contents treated; according to the criteria of users it was considered as functional, easy to use, innovative, with aesthetic quality and adequate contents.

Para dar cumplimiento a las funciones docente, asistencial e investigativa, la integración horizontal de los servicios de salud puede ser fortalecida mediante la gestión por procesos. El capital intelectual acumulado en los individuos que integran la organización es un factor activo clave para el logro de tales propósitos; es objetivo de los autores analizar los aspectos metodológicos implícitos para desarrollar capacidades relacionadas con los comportamientos y potenciar el trabajo en equipo, por su incidencia en el compromiso del logro de mejores resultados en la atención médica, la docencia y la investigación, a la vez que fortalece la flexibilidad, el cambio, la innovación en los servicios de salud y contribuye a la excelencia en los procesos formativos. 

A bibliographic review was carried out with the objective of researching about the teaching self-efficacy and its influence on the quality of university teaching. The historical evolution of the concept enunciated by Bandura (1999) is described from the Social Cognitive Theory of Rotter, which constitutes a contribution for the understanding of adaptation and human change; Its theoretical-methodological development has positioned it as valid and reliable to explain how its components (mechanisms, sources and processes) are mediated by self-efficacy. Levels of positive or negative self-efficacy have profound consequences on personal and / or professional performance; it is a challenge for the academy to motivate the teaching staff to assume this concept as a determining factor in their systematic action in order to increase the quality of the teaching-learning process.

One of the essential components that allow higher education to achieve its purpose is didactics, science of peculiar development, whose command is inescapably necessary for teachers in general, and particularly for health professionals who teach. In this sense, the authors have proposed with this article to express through an analysis of the evolution of didactics since the end of the 20th century up to present time, its position regarding its necessary contextualization in the 21st century, and its vision from the particular didactics of the medical sciences.
