Resumen
This article provides a critical review of the operation of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá during the administration of the artist Marta Traba. With that in mind, it reinterprets one of the first institutional narratives on the evolution of this museum, published by Traba in 1966. The review of this narrative provides a critical approach to the vision that the artist had for both the process of providing the museum with an institutional framework and the personal stances she took, as well as the curatorial duties that she performed.

Santa Rosa de Chillo Jijón was a spinning mill located near Quito that was engaged in both industrial activities and farming. In the midst of labor disputes that unleashed strikes and protests, the spinning mill’s managers and executive officers attempted to control its labor force by applying principles arising from Catholic movements for social justice and the thinking of Jacinto Jijón, its owner. After examining letters, speeches, newspapers, and the latter’s ideology, the article reconstructs how workers organized themselves and the clashes that took place in this workplace

Resumen
This article examines the representations of Ecuador’s Oriente and its inhabitants in the exposition organized in Rome. At this event, objects collected by the religious communities from various missionary territories throughout the world were exhibited. In the case of Ecuador, the collection came from the Apostolic Vicariate of Méndez and Gualaquiza, where the Salesians were carrying out their ministry. The sample of cultural objects on display highlights how these indigenous groups were viewed and what role the Catholic Church had been assigned to play in religious, scientific, and cultural matters.
