Resumen
Fundamentalism and Pentecostalism are major movements within modern Christianity. They come from a common religious aspect and will gradually be expanding (to other religions, such as fundamentalism) and differentiating. Initially, possible points of interaction are established, and it is postulated that both fundamentalism and Pentecostalism are reactionary movements to an enlightened and secular modernity that has removed the centrality of God (according to the tenets of the secularization thesis), the first reacting in a «rational» manner, referring to a literal reading of the scriptures, and the second in an «experiential» manner, living the religious experience in a «direct» way through glossolalia, ecstasy or other body expressions. In conclusion, it argues that both movements would be conflicting versions of religious experience, with the particularity of constituting communities firmly established that react to the secular world, from the perspective of modern uncertainty of Zygmunt Bauman.

Resumen
The paper assumes that the complex privatization and decentralization process experienced by the Chilean education system since 1981 has had an impact on the individual who is educated, through issues that focus on those involved in education, specifically the students. These problems have been identified as the “psychologization” of the problems of the educational system, the supposed “customerizing” of students and the place that corresponds to the family as dominant figure in the privatization process. The consequences of this are related to the consolidation of the privatized system in the way of dealing with subjectivity, and especially, in the breakdown of the public role of school and education.

Resumen
Based on the analysis of environmentalism from the perspectives offered by different discourses on sustainable development, the authors argue that in a local application level, in communities and specific projects, niches of sustainability can be generated, although they recognize the extreme difficulty of this challenge; they compare old and new proposals for achieving sustainability, such as sustainable development, natural capitalism, the decrease or sustainable environmentalism of the poor. Finally, they present two cases with different characteristics, in which poor communities are resisting the Raubwirtschaft or dominant industrial economy of prey, to find the niche construction of a local sustainability and commonality, through a territorial communitary order, democratic governance and participatory planning.

The present paper analyzes the subject–citizen representations articulated in Chilean expert discourse about citizenship. The methodological approach is a case study and a critical analysis of discourse, analyzing a sample of institutional documents of three influential Chilean Think Tanks: “Instituto Libertad y Desarrollo”, “Centro de Estudios Públicos” y “Fundación Chile 21”. The result identifies two subject-citizen positions: the “post-citizen subject” and the “neo-citizen subject”, concluding that both representations are articulated from a same political rationale

Resumen
Today’s crises are the consequence of the centralized form of capital accumulation, with its important negative social and environmental impacts, that are part of the prevailing paradigm based on a market determined rationality. To confront these problems, new social contracts are needed, based on the contributions from new disciplines like social, solidarity, and ecological economics that are incorporating the experiences of many societies whose relationship with nature is based on other principles. The incorporation of new paradigms depends on our willingness to learn to co-exist with, and learn from, the cultural and biological diversity that is presently denied, breaking with the unitary hegemony that currently defines most of our institutions. To be successful, we must go beyond the liberal strategies of inclusion and participation in order to incorporate alternative visions of social organization and diverse rationalities.
