The author maintains that the privatization of enterprises remains a central issue in Latin-American politics, and that the same arguments about its efficiency and necessity are repeated in all of its countries. He denounces this as a dependency of the Latin-American governing elites to the “requirements of globalization”, and adds that it is not only an ideological issue, because privatizations allow to buy enterprises at low prices with high return. He then analyses the history of the irruption of privatizations in Chile, and its consequences on its national economy, arguing that they represented a fundamental tool that made possible for power to change hands after the 1973 coup d’Etat; and that since 1990, they have been one of the key elements of what the author defines as a neoliberal democracy.

The rates of food production and consumption in the world are becoming unsustainable. United States is ahead among the countries which largely exceed their capacity in regards to this. The main cause is the incorporation of fossil fuels in the production of food since 1950, both as kinetic energy as well as in pesticides and other products used in its production. According to the author, we are literally eating hydrocarbon speedily and without having any alternative to replace them. Only the reestablishment of an equilibrium among sustainable productive capacity and food consumption could prevent the crisis which can be forseen in the horizon.

This writing offers a discussion in regards to the possibility that individual memories, originated in diverse national contexts -this is, spread by physical as well as politics distances- and gathered by a subject matter farely common -as is the experience of the extended phenomenon of vagrancy (or street situation, as is mostly called nowadays)- can constitute or be constituted in collective memory given their common characteristics. Being a bibliographical critical exercise on this particular subject, it also refers to the conventional forms of essay writing, upon adopting the most contemporary format as is the e-mail, taking into account the incidency that virtual communication and technologies associated to Internet have opened to memory and  identity, upon acting as its day to day difuminator/recreator.

This study analyzes the organizational process of a hip-hop group, based on the analysis the meaning of leisure for its participants, in the search for a new perspective of social insertion. It was made by the combination of bibliographical, documental, and field research. We used the method of study-case, in the Organização dos Novos Quilombos (ONQUI), hip-hop “posse”, having the participant observation as its main technique for data collection. Amongst the results it is possible to affirm that leisure carried out through the activities related to the hip-hop movement contributes to the quest for citizenship of the people in the city suburbs. Based on the realization and mobilization in cultural activities linked to hip-hop, organizations such as ONQUI carry out social public policies, in a non-governmental fashion, actions that are the fruit of formal and informal processes of Associationalism, understood as a counterpoint, an answer to the actions of the municipal district´s public power.

From seven councilwomen elected in the province of Bio Bio, 8th region, in 1996, the figure increased up to twenty two elected in 2004. If well the figure can be seen as not too significant, it thus shows an important advancement achieved by women in a sphere of difficult access as is the  world of politics. This document intends to explain feminine participation in politics, through the experiences of fifteen councilwomen from the province of Bio Bio, all of then from different communes and of different political positions, but with common elements such as their difficulties both in entrance and permanency in the political field, to a large extent due to the lack of accumulated symbolic capital which places them in a disadvantaged position in regards to men.

Art is a bridge which links the heart of the world with the human heart. Body, mind and soul ar expressions of a unified spirit which inhabits the universe, and that can become alive and manifest on a transcendent form and brighten in the small things of life. To grasp this Unified Whole is possible from the liberating possibilities that complex thought offers. Since the spiritual work and the challenges of deep psychology are interwined aspects of the same reality, the article undertakes the psychological dimension of art and of beauty. More than referring to the intrinsic nature of the work of art, the article deals with the attitude of mind with which the observer confronts such reality. An analysis is developed here about the access roads to the aesthetic experience and collective unconscious.
