Resumen
The main objective of this present paper is to review some methodological problems of the historical analysis of social change; the aim is to overcome the idea that postulates that social transformations adopt forms of transitions between models of society. This works seeks to emphasize the complexity of mutations and try to claim an examination through a micro dissection of changes. With this aims, it is proposed what has been called «experiences of transformation» as a way to investigate the processes of change and as a means to address the complexity of the factors that were playing. This means studying social changes through the micro episodes of social life; that is, analyzing all the moments that individuals lived in relation to certain social mutations in specific contexts and the ways in which they reacted, perceived, managed, negotiated, promoted or even resisted changes. Although the work does not address a specific chronology, much of the reflections come from the problems that emerge in the study of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Resumen
Macroeconomic data on the Spanish economy during the Second Republic is not accurate, the interpretation of historical events from the figures obtained is divergent and misleading. Hasty laws were enacted in attempts to resolve social problems arising mainly from deep economic inequalities, but they were often nothing more than declarations of good intentions. Spain suffered in the aftermath of the international economic downturn as it began to be felt at the end of the dictatorship of General Primo de Rivera. Economic policy was developed under the Constitution, but, despite the differences between the first and second biennium, there was a tendency to maintain the guidelines from the previous stage and in general, sometimes unfairly, it aimed at least to avoid the destabilization of the financial system. Nonetheless, it ultimately failed to achieve its goals, mainly because of the frequent changes of government mediated by a social crisis of greater significance that had relegated economic issues into the background.

Resumen
Between 2000 and 2014 the historiography of the Second Spanish Republic’s cultural manifestations reached a remarkable level. This was mostly thanks to academic research and remains reflected in a vast number of published works. Under the censorship of Franco’s regime, most Republican writers published their works in exile. Many of those works have been reprinted over the last fifteen years, uncovering a part of Spanish recent cultural past that had otherwise remained forgotten and hidden. Art, literature and thought produced or developed outside of Spain by those who defended the Republican cause after 1939 had until recently been condemned to silence.

Resumen
This article focuses on a number of authors of economic history who analyse the period from various perspectives: from global to sectorial analyses. Undoubtedly within the complexity of the global economic crisis of the 1930s, there was a clear lack of uniformity. Historians analysed the evolution of the peseta, foreign trade, fiscal policy, state debt and the “problems” of agrarian reform. Nonetheless there were also authors who conducted sectorial analyses. Finally, we review the most outstanding economists of the time who made their own assessments of the hardship from the perspective of a country undergoing its own industrial revolution.

Resumen
One mark of the interest attached to the god Mithra is the line of studies dating back to the Roman period. It was, however, during the Renaissance that the accidental discovery of sculptural pieces of a Mithraic subject attracted the interest of researchers, who sought to identify the bull-killing divinity. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, this field of research re-oriented itself to the solar theme and the identification of Mithraism. In the 19th century, it took on a scientific nature, and the landmark the studies of F. Cumont saw the light of day in early 20th century. As the century progressed ambitious in-depth studies flourished, unravelling the mysteries linked to the cult of the god Mithra, both in terms of the divinity of the Vedic and Avestan pantheons and of the sphere of the mystery cult established in the context of the Roman Empire. At the beginning of the 21st century, some initial hypotheses remain open, but the vitality of studies pursuing a global understanding of Mithraism remains unchallenged.

Resumen
Ambrosio de Morales had a personal and professional relationship with Alcalá. Due to this, he was proposed to justify the burdensome transfer of Justo and Pastor’s relics from Huesca to Alcalá. Thus, the work is not only a hagiography, perhaps a humanistic hagiography treatise of all that, until the same date of 1568, was known of these martyrs throughout Christendom. Our proposal is to analyze the sources used by Ambrosio de Morales to investigate, collect documentation, write and publish La vida, la invención, el martirio, las grandezas y las translaciones de los gloriosos niños mártires Justo y Pastor (Alcalá, 1568) as well as make a contribution on the final intentions of the work.

Resumen
When the Republican leaders acceded to power, one of their main objectives was a deep reform in education. The development of the Republican educational policy is reflected in a subsequent, extensive historiographical corpus. It was in fact the same architects of the reform who first recorded this whilst at the head of the Ministry of Public Instruction and Fine Arts, namely, Rodolfo Llopis and Marcelino Domingo. Following these first studies, we had to wait for the fall of the dictatorship for the history of republican educational reform to be continued. The first such research efforts were of a general character, and some time passed until it began to focus on specific localities. This paper aims to analyse the work of the local authorities with respect to primary education during the republican period. Three areas will be central to this: the start-up of new schools, the substitution of religious education and the start-up of the extra-scholarly institutions.

Resumen
Recent decades have led to a great development of Basque historiography on the Second Republic. Due to the special features of every territory, however, this historiography has undergone varied levels of development. This paper will make special reference to Gipuzkoa, paying particular attention to what work has been achieved and what, in the author’s view, remains to be done.
