Introduction: nursing professionals must have a training that guarantees quality assurance of the challenges imposed by the complexity of the critical patient. Objective: to validate a book of good nursing practices in intensive care for patient safety. Method: methodological triangulation by criteria of 20 experts by the Delphi method and pre-experiment with entrance and exit test in the Intensive Care Unit of the General Teaching Hospital "Octavio de la Concepcion y de la Pedraja" of Baracoa, Guantanamo, since 2016 to 2017. Results: the general consensus of the experts was "very much in agreement" for the foundations that support patient safety in good nursing practices in the ICU and the quality of the proposed book. The qualifications of the nursing procedures of the exit test, corresponding to the pre-experiment, were significantly higher than the entrance tests. Conclusions: the book of good nursing practices in the ICU for patient safety is accepted as valid and feasible.

Introduction: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the "Viva Mejor" program in improving knowledge, attitudes and practices on healthy eating and physical exercise. Methods: Experimental study of intervention with a duration of three months, in which participated 38 officials of the Adventist Organization in Peru (Union Peruana del Sur), held in the district of Miraflores Lima Peru. The program developed practical theoretical workshops for both healthy eating and physical exercise, motivated healthy eating through the model "healthy dish" that promotes the daily consumption of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes and proteins of vegetable origin, they were also motivated to perform daily physical exercise under the supervision of an instructor. Results: The results on healthy eating showed that the knowledge of the participants increased by 18.4%, their attitudes increased by 10.5%, the practices of consumption of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and proteins of vegetable origin increased by 39.4%. Regarding physical exercise their knowledge increased by 13.2%, their attitudes by 2.6% and their practice of three or more times physical exercise per week improved by 73.6%. The difference in medians before and after the intervention was statistically significant according to the wilcoxon test, value p = .000. Conclusion: The implementation of the "Viva Mejor" lifestyle medicine program showed significant favorable changes in the population studied in terms of knowledge, attitudes and practices of eating and physical activity. Objective: To determine the clinical and sociodemographic factors associated with pre-eclampsia in pregnant women aged 16-25 years treated at the Hospital de Ventanilla emergency in January-December 2016. Methods: An observational, analytical, cross-sectional study was conducted. We worked with 364 pregnant women from the hospital of Ventanilla. The following variables were measured: preclampsia (dependent), age, marital status, educational level, occupation, sexual partner, previous gestations, gestational age, BMI, gestational anemia, pregestational diabetes and gestational diabetes (independent). ORs were calculated with their respective 95% confidence intervals. A value of p less than 0.5 was considered significant. Results: The prevalence of preclampsia was 5.7%. the factors associated with preclampsia were: Marital status (OR: 0.16 (0.03-0.77)), Degree of instruction (OR: 0.31 (0.11-0.87)), Sex partner (OR: 0.36 (0.140.91)), Previous pregnancy ( OR: 2.99 (1.72-13.43)), BMI (OR: 4.47 (1.69-11.82)), Anemia (OR: 3.41 (1.22-9.52)), Pregestational DM (OR: 5.55 (1.43-21.94)). Conclusion: Preeclampsia was associated to civil status, degree of instruction, sexual partner, previous pregnancy, BMI, anemia and pregestational DM. Introduction: Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) is the most common and malignant primary brain tumor. It is associated a low rate of survival and a high rate of recurrence. Despite aggressive multimodal treatment the mean overall survival is about 12 months. Nevertheless, there are reports of about 2% of cases of GBM that survive por than 36 months, they are called Long Term Survivors. Case report: On 2014 a 25-year-old male was treated by complete resection of a right parieto-occipital brain tumor. The results from patology was Glioblastoma Multiforme. The patient underwent through chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgery. After more than 3 years the patient has a Karnofsky scale score (KPS) of 100 and without recurrence of the disease. Discussion: There is a low percentage of cases of GBM that survive more than 36 months. This survival has been related with some prognostic factors such as age, preoperative status (KPS) and complete resection of the lesion. However, there are still other genetic and molecular factors that have to be elucidated. Conclusion: There is a chance of long term survival of patients with the diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme it is so that, taking into account the prognostic factors, neurosurgeons should treat this disease aggressively understanding that the only known modifiable factor is the complete surgical resection. A case of human T-cell lymphotrophic virus type I (HTLV-1)-associated myelopathy (HAM) occurring in a 60-year-old Peruvian female with a history of hemodialysis due to chronic renal failure (CRF) is reported. The patient was a lifelong resident of Lima, Peru, an endemic area for HTLV-1 infections1,2,3. The clinical course was characterized by abrupt onset and rapid progression of neurological signs and symptoms: paraparesia end neurogenic bladder. There are reports in Latin America with similar prevalence with B and C hepatitis on hemodialysis group4,5,6. There are no reports in Peru, also no screening in kidney transplantation (receptor and donors). Key words: Myelopathy; HTLV-1; Chronic renal failure. Two cutaneous entities related to EBV are recognized in the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) classification: Hydroa vacciniforme–like lymphoproliferative disorder and  Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type. Rare cases of EBV primary cutaneous CD8-positive T lymphomas have been reported. These lymphoid proliferations do not fit into any of the two classical EBV-related lymphomas .We report a unique case of an  Epstein-Barr Virus-associated Primary Cutaneous –CD4-positive T-Cell Lymphoproliferative Disorder  affecting the bilateral ears  with indolent outcome and subsequent relapse on the tongue and trunk skin. DOI: 10.25176/RFMH.v18.n2.1294
