Resumen
The objective of this investigation is to put in evidence the diff iculties what it entails the so declaimed sustainable rural tourism development. For that aim, we have chosen two tourism clusters of rural areas corresponding to the Upper and Lower Danube, in a country in Eastern Europe of medium development like as Serbia. The comparison is one of the essential principles of geographical research and in this case are allowed establish diff erences and similarities between a nature destination with strong deficiencies of infrastructure. On the other side, it is evident an increasing presence of international tourism and destination with better services and predominance of historical and cultural attractions, more oriented to local tourism. The exhaustive bibliographical and field research are complemented by a deep geostatistical analysis of information which are collected from year to year by municipalities. The results obtained are brought knowledge with views to a strategic planning on the path of sustainability.

Resumen
Among the numerous activities carried out by the Military Engineers in the American territories under Spanish sovereignty is the elaboration of maps, a task that was carried out by this Corps from the 16th to the 19th century. The objective of this article is to show how this was a consequence, on the one hand, of the academic training they received at the Mathematics Academies, and on the other hand, the professional practice developed at the service of the Crown. But above all, it is to show the impact that this activity had on the knowledge of the American territories, even though many of these maps were known many years later, since they accompanied detailed reports. This allowed them to be recognized as important collaborators in the tasks of organizing the American territories and access, in several cases, to important positions of government. The result of its work is cartography rich in themes, quality of representation and territorial diversity.

Resumen
Recently, a homogeneous database has been generated to study the spatial-temporal dynamics of the snow cover in the Spanish peninsular territory, from remote sensing (AVHRR-NOAA and MODIS) and energy balance models (WRF-FSM). These data series used at regional scale show the uncertainty of their application in small headwaters to better understand the hydro-climatology of the same. Assuming the disparity of applied techniques, and the diversity of variables in which the estimates are expressed (snow cover, snow days, snow depth and snow water equivalent), the results obtained allow to describe the seasonal behavior of the snow cover in the study catchment, as well as its marked interannual variability. The results show that snow cover data are less useful for hydrological analysis than modeled series (WRF-FSM), which report the thickness and amount of snow water equivalent.

This article discusses the only Inca noble ayllu founded in the Audience of Quito, on the royal estate of Atahuallpa Ticci Cápac, the last Inca emperor of Tahuantinsuyo (the Inca Empire). These lands were inherited by his eldest son, Francisco Topatauchi, the auqui (noble gentleman). The property was located at Cuturiví and Isinchi in the village of Pujilí, 25 km in a straight line from the Quilotoa volcano lagoon, which, in turn, is 21 km from the Inca archaeological ruins of Malqui-Machay that were discovered in 2004 and 2010. According to hypotheses based on ethnohistorical evidence, Malqui-Machay may be the emblematic site where the Quito Inca resistance against the Spanish conquerors brought Atahuallpa’s mortal remains.

Resumen
This article analyzes the transformation of the Argentine fields of intellectual production and circulation at the turn of the 20th Century from the vantage point of an apparently minor debate that took place in 1903 between the young physician José Ingenieros and the director of the National Library, Paul Groussac about the use of the term “psychiatrist”. By carrying out a “dense description” of this polemical exchange as a point of departure, the article sheds light on —borrowing from Carlo Ginzburg— “the framework of deeper historical tendencies” of Argentine culture.
