A study was carried out on the possible relationship between the eating habits of adolescents during school hours and the detection of eating disorders. A total of 4362 students (49.7% girls and 50.3% boys) from 16 secondary schools aged 13 to 17 years participated. Sociodemographic variables, body mass index (BMI), EAT-40 and BSQ questionnaires, as well as the types of eating and drinking of adolescents before and during the school morning on the day of the assessment were recorded. The results show significant differences between boys and girls in their concern and eating habits. Regarding BMI, 17.8% were underweight, 19.1% overweight and 6.0% obese. A percentage of 9.6% of girls and 1.7% of boys reported eating disorders. Girls always show a greater concern about food and body image, and they are also the ones who eat the least breakfast or lunch during the school day. Worry is correlated with obesity and not so much with underweight (r = .18 in EAT, and r = .30 in BSQ). No significant correlations were found with eating habits, although those who worry more eat less, but have a higher BMI. Overall, 6.3% of the girls and 3.6% of the boys did not eat at all during the entire school day. The importance of dietary habits in relation to the prevention of eating problems at this age group is discussed.

Peer violence has a negative impact on involved adolescents’ health. One of the factors that has shown evidence to predict the performance and suffering of aggressive behaviours are cognitive emotional coping strategies. Nevertheless, in bullying and cyberbullying contexts, there are few studies that have analysed the role of these strategies and, even less, separately for boys and girls. Therefore, this study had two objectives: to analyse sex differences on aggression and victimisation in bullying and cyberbullying situations as well on the use of cognitive coping strategies, and to explore which coping strategies best predict victimisation and aggression in both situations separately for boys and girls. A sample of 1,904 adolescents participated by filling out three questionnaires assessing bullying, cyberbullying, and cognitive coping strategies. The results showed significant sex differences in aggression, victimisation, cyberaggression, and in five strategies. Moreover, the outcomes of regression analysis reported that, for instance, other-blame strategy was one of those that best predicted aggression and victimisation in bullying and cyberbullying in boys and girls. Finally, limitations and implications derived of this study are discussed.

The purpose of this case study is to present practical examples of interventions carried out in clinical practice using mindfulness techniques. In recent years, it has been demonstrated that mindfulness is a powerful treatment, able to produce changes at both biological and physiological levels as well as on well-being, through the reduction of the symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and ruminative thoughts. This study is of a psychological intervention mainly focused on mindful breathing, meditation, and exercises of self-compassion in two patients (women aged 31 and 44 years) with anxious and depressive symptoms. Some of the exercises used and the results obtained are explained: reduction of anxiety, reduction of depressive symptoms, and increase of well-being. The identification data has been changed to preserve the patients' anonymity. Informed consent was obtained to publish their cases.

The aim of this theoretical essay was to continue the reflection on a definition related to accounting, based on the article “A reflection on accounting: walking along the paths of ‘traditional theory and critical theory’” by Professors Sérgio de Iudícibus, José Francisco Ribeiro Filho, Jorge Expedito de Gusmão Lopes and Marcleide Maria Macêdo Pederneiras. The methodology used in this research was deductive based on the Theory of Justice and its thinkers, especially Adam Smith. It was concluded that accounting is a social science that serves to mediate distributive conflict in society, through the recognition, measurement and disclosure of phenomena affecting the assets of entities, and uses fair value as a standard of justice, the main fair marker in the process of exchange of goods to satisfy the needs of users, solving the distributive conflict.

This article presents the results of research on the factors identified by students as determinants of the delay in obtaining the degree of Public Accountant at the National University of Río Negro – Atlantic office – Cohorts 2011-2013. Since this is a young educational institution, it is appropriate to inquire into the multiple factors that explain the phenomenon of slow progress in the curricular paths and the consequent low number of graduates. A mixed methodological approach (qualitative – quantitative) was adopted, using semi-structured interviews and surveys to collect data from students belonging to the first three cohorts of the course. Results show that lack of motivation, family situation, linked to the course of life and socioeconomic situation appear as personal hindering factors. In the curricular area, students perceive as obstacles the organization of the Study Plan and the Final Degree Project, emphasizing on the latter the late response given to the deficiency in the preparation and training of students. The institutional dimension, in general, is not identified as a determining factor for graduation.
