En este artículo se reflexiona sobre los procesos de memoria en México y Argentina. Nuevas interrogantes conducen a revisar el pasado desde una visión crítica que permea el presente. Para el caso argentino se reflexiona en torno a la memoria y los efectos de la derrota política en la sociedad. Para México se destaca la participación, en los procesos memorísticos, de los familiares de las víctimas del terrorismo de Estado, los defensores de los derechos humanos y exmilitantes de las organizaciones beligerantes de los años sesenta y setenta del siglo xx.

Reseña del libro, La bifurcación del caos. Reflexiones interdisciplinarias sobre violencia falocéntrica, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana/ Ítaca, México, 2011, 427 pp., isbn 978-607-7957-18-8. 

Análisis de la violencia en sus características, posibles orígenes, definiciones y clasificación, principalmente desde las investigaciones para la paz; se destaca su relación con los problemas ambientales, en cuanto una de sus causas principales. Asimismo, se delimita la idea de violencia contra la Naturaleza y se presenta el pacifismo, la noviolencia y otras propuestas similares, como alternativas recomendables y promisorias en la búsqueda de una mayor ecopaz; esto último, debido a sus métodos, experiencias, capacidades y logros pasados

Estudio sobre los determinantes de la movilidad socioeconómica de los inmigrantes en España a partir del enfoque de la movilidad ocupacional y el análisis del mercado laboral. Se examinan las características de los inmigrantes así como las particularidades del contexto de recepción. Se trata de un análisis empírico y cuantitativo con base en la Encuesta Nacional de Inmigrantes 2007. Los resultados sugieren que el éxito o fracaso de la incorporación y desarrollo ocupacional de los inmigrantes depende tanto de las características del individuo como del contexto al que llegan.

Benati and Tanja Angelovska (2016) is without doubt a help for undergraduate students and trainee teachers who need to deal with the issue of second language acquisition (SLA). The content is very precise but, at the same time, very clear and easy to understand and follow, even for those students who are dealing with this topic for the first time. It can be applied in the classroom, as a resource book or even a course book, to introduce SLA. It is true that the field has become very complex in the past years, as the studies include many different fields of knowledge: linguistics, psychology, sociology and education. However, the authors of this book have been able to highlight the most important theories in such a way that it can be an excellent resource for use in undergraduate classes. They have also incorporated some activities for students to reflect on the topic and to develop their critical thinking about it. Most of the activities are good and although some are unpretentious, they are effective for students to think about this issue. In short, all of the activities give an insight into the theory.

In the frame of a funded research project on Applied Linguistics to the teaching of modern languages through sports (Galindo Merino, 2016a), one of our aims is to apply ICT to this teaching approach (Botella Tejera et al., 2016; Sellés et al., 2016). Thus, 17 apps related to the teaching of languages through sports are explored. Specifically, we have selected different kinds of apps: language-based apps, language learning apps, three specific English through sports apps, and sport journals and TV channels apps. After presenting and analyzing them, we provide a wide range of activities to include them in the language classroom, in line with recent developments in task-based language teaching with technology..

Autor/s Noa TalavánTomás CostalUniversidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain   ABSTRACT Research on the use of active dubbing activities in foreign language learning is gaining an increasing amount of attention. The most obvious skill to be enhanced in this context is oral production and a few authors have already mentioned the potential benefits of asking students to record their voices in a ‘semi-professional’ manner. The present project attempts to assess the potential of intralingual dubbing (English-English) to develop general oral production skills in adult university students of English B2 level in an online learning environment, and to provide general guidelines of dubbing task assessment for practitioners. To this end, a group of undergraduate pre-intermediate students worked on ten sequenced activities using short videos taken from an American sitcom over a period of two months. The research study included language assessment tests, questionnaires and observation as the basic data gathering tools to make the results as reliable and thorough as possible for this type of educational setting. The conclusions provide a good starting point for the establishment of basic guidelines that may help teachers implement dubbing tasks in the language class.
