The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of stocking densities on productive performance of the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii in biofloc system. Experimental tanks (microcosms) with 0.20 m² area were used as experimental units. The tanks were connected to two 300 L matrix tanks (macrocosm) with biofloc technology, used as recirculating units. M. rosenbergii juveniles, with an initial weight of 0.315 ± 0.06 g and initial length of 33.34 ± 2.26 mm, was randomly distributed in the experimental tanks at different stocking densities (50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ind m-²) and reared during 60 days. The total biomass at the end of the experiment was significant higher (P < 0.05) with the use of higher stocking density (250 ind m-² ). However, prawns stocked at the density of 50 m-² showed significant higher (P < 0.05) survival (73%) and significantly lower values (P < 0.05) for feed conversion rate (1.28). The different stocking densities evaluated did not affect the weight and length of prawns. The recommended density for growing M. rosenbergii in the biofloc system is 50 ind m-².

The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of the cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus after refrigerated storage (4°C) and examine its potential as food for Artemia franciscana. Non-axenic semicontinuous cultures of S. elongatus were maintained at 4°C for 8 weeks. In our bioassay, we fed A. franciscana with refrigerated S. elongatus and fresh cultures of the diatom Chaetoceros muelleri as a control. The S. elongatus cultures could be refrigerated for up to 8 weeks without loss of its viability or alteration in its growth rate, cell size, and proximate composition. Fresh and eight week-refrigerated cultures of S. elongatus were similar with regard to fatty acid profiles. Significant differences in fatty acid profiles were found between refrigerated S. elongatus and fresh C. muelleri cultures. Vibrio bacteria were not detected in any of the S. elongatus cultures (fresh or refrigerated) or fresh cultures C. muelleri. This work demonstrated that refrigerated S. elongatus can be used to feed A. franciscana, maintaining similar growth rates and proximate composition compared with fresh C. muelleri cultures as feed. Thus, S. elongatus has potential aquaculture use as feed for A. franciscana.

Damián Szifrón’s blockbuster Wild Tales came to the box office as a landmark in Argentinian cinema, not only because it reveals a deep gaze on the aggressive nature of a culture that self-repressed its traumas, but also because every Western culture can contemplate ethically its own scars in this collection of anecdotic tales. Only the fact that Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar would want to produce the work of his young Argentinian counterpart says a lot about the necessity to utilize cinema as a chock therapy where the audience confronts its own wild and primitive nature (The Freudian Id), hidden in its deep interior through centuries of accumulated repression. This article focuses on the figure of the imaginary father, as defined by French analyst Jacques Lacan, in order to explore how the chapters of the film form of chain that presents cultural traumas, historical and individual causes, as well as the neurosis surrounding the Argentinian bourgeoisie, usual ruler of social behavior in the majority of Western societies. In line with the recent work of Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek, this research will observe how each chapter of Wild Tales decomposes the ethical symptoms of a society that is aware of its neurotic behaviors to the point that it acknowledges that comic explosions of its wild sides is the most efficient therapy that cinema can offer.

If the cinema study became a powerfull toll to understand the social analysis, this lecture brings the intention to discuss aspects of the current society and the institutional influence. The relationships of the characters are strongly crossover by the natural knowledge of the conservative middle class family in Spain below influence of the catholic religion, specifically the Opus dei. From some topic´s of the Javier Fesser´s film, Camino, like life, health and ethics appear in tension whit theoretical constructions in gender and biopolitic. The mass media and the cinema usually shows exacerbated stereotypes of class and gender in the social net. The analysis we pretend to offer, represent a critical view of the institutional that it shows as given, the rules we passive assume as society, the stereotype roles we accept and the relation of politics and the strongest representative institution in Iberoamerica: family and religion

In this paper we attempt to describe the hypertext mechanisms applied by Pasolini in his novel Teorema and the eponymous film (both 1968), through the incorporation of the myth of Dionysus in The Bacchae of Euripides and some passages of the Bible. From this place In considering the foregoing, the representation will be analyzed of the struggle of social classes in Italy in the late sixties as one of the scenarios for two contending powers: one that is primitive, originative, dignified and close to nature, represented by the working class and peasantry -especially by the character of Emilia-; and the capitalist and bourgeois power, represented by the family as a whole. The antithesis proposed by Pasolini to this fight is the destruction of this family from the presence of a nameless guest, whose origin and destination are unknown; and who, by his configuration, refers to the Greek god Dionysius.

The movie The Road, based on the novel by american writer Cormac McCarthy, proposes an ethical question in a post-apocalyptic scenario: what would be the moral canon that regulates human relations in the face of the collapse of capitalist culture? This question carries with it a critique of the preconventional morality of a consumer society and proposes an ethics chosen in limit situations based on the recognition of human dignity. This article analyzes this proposal from three elements: the recognition of values as moral contents that justify human choices; the understanding of ethics as a reflective dimension of morality, and the demand for the care ethics as an alternative to the individualistic ethics prevalent in consumer society.

The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde Inseglet, 1957) is a film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. The film is an exceptional portrait of the actual man’s fear of the agnostic vacuum that constantly threatens his search for meaning. The Swedish director comes to a medieval metaphor to express his bewilderment at not being able to contemplate the absolute.

The presence of the African-American community in North American cinema dates back of the beginning of the seventh art. However, the relationship between the representation of whites and blacks on the screen was always uneven. With the passing of time Hollywood has seen an evolution in the forms of approach to the rights of blacks in their films. However, this alleged inclusive policy manifests, in an underlying way, a solid segregationist root. The purpose of this article is to analyze three films from different eras concerning the issue of Civil Rights, made in Hollywood by white filmmakers, to examine how, through different strategies, the white man positions himself in a place of power. Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (Stanley Kramer, 1967), Mississippi Burning (Alan Parker, 1988) and The Help (Tate Taylor, 2011) are commercially successful films that address the problems of blacks from a supposedly revalorizing approach but that deep down they hold a strong racist spirit.

Juan Pablo Meneses is a Chilean chronicler, writer and journalist who founded what is now known as "Portable Journalism. "His chronicles of consumerism present a new form of narrative journalism that takes as the axis the experience of buying. From his project “School of Portable Journalism” –which has students connected from more than twenty countries - Meneses discovers and promotes different voices of narrative and journalism from experimental and independent supports. He wrote the books Hand luggage (Planet 2003); Sex and power (Planet 2004); The life of a cow (Planet / Seix Barral 2008, finalist of the Seix Barral Chronicles Award); Crónicas Argentinas (Norma 2009), Hotel España (Norma 2009 / Iberoamericana / Vervuert 2010) and Children soccer players (2013). Currently, he is working on the last volume of his "journalism cash" trilogy, for which he bought a God in India and founded a religion in New York with the aim of writing a book about this subject. Inspired In a series of questions that, within the framework of Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, could be grouped around the notion of capitalist discourse, the present interview addresses some aspects of this experience.
