The goal of the paper is to analyze the differences in life expectation of migrant students compared to those who are not. We consider that traditionally the man is mainly in charge of the productive-public share. For the analysis, we applied a survey in two public universities located in Saltillo, Coahuila. With this information, we construct an Index of Public-Productive Preferences, and we classify the results in two categories: gender and neighborhood. We find that the index shows a balance between preferences for activities, with a slight bias for traditional roles and a shift towards the private productive share as farther from the place of origin. The main limitation is to use the neighborhood as a criterion and traveling time is suggested. We conclude that gender and migration have effects on life expectation.

This study analyzes the significance competence of Donald Trump’s visit to Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto in 2016 as a performance. It includes the textual analysis and iterative coding process of how this performance was interpreted in 60 opinion pieces in Mexican media outlets. One of the discourses suggested that Trump’s visit had tarnished the image of the Mexican president in general, whereas others suggested that it had only tarnished Peña Nieto’s personal image. While this study only analyzes the impact of the Trump/Peña meeting in Mexican op-eds, further research should include its representation in US media. It does interpret, however, whether or not the presidential figure is legitimized as a representation of the whole nation, as its political and civil authority. The aforementioned political event detonated a dispute regarding the effects of the performance in the three bodies of the presidential endowment embodied in Peña Nieto.

The objective of the text is to analyze properties, characteristics and elements that define the indigenous communities of San Luis Potosi and discuss the relationships between language, people and community, territory, territoriality and extraterritoriality, de facto and de jure communities. The result of the analysis lead to distinguish the indigenous community by: a community assembly, the use of the indigenous language, uses and customs and the enjoyment of the festival. The work, refers to the dual composition of the community concept: a physical objectification confronted with the identity that configures an elusive and subjective reality. The text calls for the recognition of the constituent elements of the indigenous community to facilitate access to their rights, particularly the right to consultation. The conclusions are aimed at recognizing the importance of the assembly as a defining element of the indigenous community for the resolution of any internal or external problem.

The objective of this research is to analyze the advantages and specialization in sugarcane production in Mexico as a source of competitiveness generation between 1980 and 2017, with the purpose to identify the level of competitiveness of the producing states to determine if there is a direct relationship with specialization. To meet the objective, the calculation and analysis of three regional indicators was developed, Location Quotient, specialization, and Redistribution Coefficient. The sugar industry has an impact on several aspects, this indicates a limitation for research because the accessibility of information is limited. The main results are that there are differences in specialization between the main sugarcane producing states caused by the disparities of their advantages. Concluding that there are variations in the results of the location quotient these are related to the fluctuation in the price of sugar.

What are the feelings that appear and stand out among participants of a social movement? This research focuses on information and data on the evolution of emotions and feelings in the constitution, development and decline of two social movements in Mexico, specifically YoSoy132 (2012) and TodosSomosAyotzinapa (2014). They are exposed following an emotional process in the evolution of the movements, since the different existing approaches are taken into account in their study from social movements and other perspectives. For this, we have general information and some thirty interviews with participants of each movement, as well as participant observation of these movements that marked the recent history of Mexico.

It is presented some key ideas that had construct around a doctoral thesis in course whose central objective is to analyze themodifications that emerge in explanatory models about optical phenomena of in-service teachers to promote a modelling- basedteaching. These ideas are integrated within a formative proposal that are implemented in it has been designated a physics' teachersprofessional development community. The didactic sequence presented here has been constructed considers one key idea about light absorption and emission model, nonetheless the original document has five ideas to promote explanatory models about optical phenomena that can help understand ideas about light nature since wave-particle duality. Furthermore, the application of activities contained in these sequences it proposes facts to strengthen your epistemic abilities for example describe, predict and intervene about optical phenomena in your current context. The formative proposal considers approaches about model-based teaching because it offers relevant supplies to teaching optical phenomena in secondary level.

The objective of this work is to analyze a didactic tool that aims to improve the scientific competence of students. In particular, the focus is on argumentative competence on scientific topics; in this exploratory investigation, the topic "the use of nuclear energy to produce electricity in Argentina" is proposed. The participating students belong to the 4th year of secondary schools in the district of Lomas de Zamora in the province of Buenos Aires. The research methodology consists of the analysis of argumentative texts in two instances: before and after speaking, reading and writing about the subject in question. From the analysis of these records, as a first approximation, it can be concluded that scientific competence is closely related to the scientific culture that each person has, and how strengthening argumentative skills significantly improves people's scientific competences. It is important to remember that it is concluded that scientific competence is related to scientific culture and scientific literacy.

In this paper, we present a qualitative research that analyzes images on electrostatic induction included in textbooks with the aim ofunraveling the co-deployment of verbal and visual languages to construct meanings. The analysis combines guidelines from Systemic-Functional Linguistics and contributions from previous research in Science Didactics. The sample includes 16 images of 12 textbooks, both secondary and university level, used in Argentina. We examine visual-verbal aspects (type of representation, focus of the image, verbal components) and disciplinary aspects (charges, attractions and repulsions, mobility of electrons). The results allow us to identifythe physical phenomena represented, characterize the forms of representation and detect some difficulties that could potentially hinderdisciplinary learning. We conclude by stating that the images cannot be understood intuitively, but rather require a detailed interpretationthat delves into the meanings of both the visual and verbal representations.

Physics didactics faces the challenge of meeting the demands of the sustainable development goals due to the negative attitudes andemotions that many students experience in the learning process. Therefore, the study of a semiotic alternative is shown in anargumentative context that offers the possibility of analyzing the changes in the levels of understanding about mechanical work inaverage students (15 to 16 years old). According to the results, the proposed alternative complies with Duval's point of view becauseit uses semiotic registers to analyze the effects of learning processes and not as causes of lack of understanding.

The dependence on modern technology is based on the framework of scientific laws where Physics plays a preponderant role in science education, having to respond and evolve with transcendental changes, defining profiles, providing content and incorporating languages that characterize our world and which will become more and more pronounced in the coming years. These emerging advances are among the changes that Physics and Physics Education must deal with, becoming a conceptual challenge. It is proposed in this work to reflect on a primary conceptual basis, especially the reference system, space and time, for the treatment of Newtonian relativity as a previous step to the study of Special and General Relativity.
