The purpose of the project is to create a national maritime research network, whos main objective is the diffusion and education. Nowadays, Chile faces an enormous concentration of diffusion efforts in the central zone of the country, together with an inefficient distribution and scarce research programs for the existing marine protected areas. The proposal, then, rethinks the way in which a dissemination center is conceived, taking advantage of the need for displacement of marine research cruises. The need for such a project arises inherently when analyzing the national reality regarding the state of conservation of our sea, its level of study and the lack of social awareness, in regards to its care, considering that part of the country’s economy develops from its riches, such as fishing, navigation and tourism.

This article presents mobility in the Tarapacá Region as an expression of the organization of habitable space, where the territorial extension of urban nodes is linked in ephemeral settlements of temporary occupations. During the different processes of occupation, cultural exchange practices have nurtured the human-space-territory relationship of patrimonial significance, which is visualized in the ways of understanding Tarapaca's link with the architectural ephemeral response with which is configured in internodal spaces. At present, this cultural heritage is reflected in the summer occupation of the coast, where compared to the current growth of Iquique and its consequent extension planning, the summer activity of camping in microurban configurations can be displaced along with the heritage activities that there they happen.

Nowadays, the tramway in France surprises with an explosive comeback. Many are the cities that have implemented it in recent years, a phenomenon that appeared with strength due to the political context that sustains it. Which interests does the reintroduction of the tramway as a means of transport in French cities respond to? Has it become a fashionable effect? The case studies of Strasbourg and Aubagne are both interesting scenarios to deepen and illustrate these questions. The main objective of this paper is to understand the strategies behind the French model in order to present elements that could fuel the discussion on the convenience of the implementation of modern tramways in Chile.

This paper seeks to recognize some fundamental elements of the phenomenon of loss of meaning as a substantial part of hypermodern society, and some of its consequences referred to the inhabiting dimension of human beings, to then establish a relationship with the educational context and cultural education in university environments. Already in this scenario, some guidelines are proposed to facilitate the study of initial theoretical bases to be taken into consideration, when proposing answers to the challenges posed by the teaching and learning processes in higher education and their relationship with information society and digital media.

The historic center of the city of Camagüey, declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity in 2008, is an exponent of architectural values that respond to different stages, among which stands out the architecture of the Modern Movement and specifically the apartment buildings built in the 1950s The architecture of this period made important contributions directed to the adaptation to the local climatic conditions and to a new spatial organization. The ignorance of this heritage has caused transformations derived from its adaptation to current social and economic conditions. Its flexibility to adapt to new uses is possible, hence the need for the proper balance that must be achieved from rethinking the usual relationship between past, present and future. This article is part of investigations developed on the topic in Thesis of Master and contained advances of Doctoral Thesis both in managerial investigation projects.

Extra-Long Residential Infrastructures are extra-long constructions with a façade length longer than the standard dimension (estimated 400 meters), with a great residential capacity (with communities of more than 1,000 users) and with recognisable elements of the city such as “streets in the sky”, local shops, with different speeds for the building itinerary (by car, motorbike and bike), or in-between-spaces for meeting, and so on. These settlements are developed between the twenties and seventies mainly, and currently they have been immersed in polemic questions due to their misuse and damages suffered with the passage of time. For this reason, the case of Park Hill is dealt analysing changes made and their impact on cohabitation everyday processes. In this way, we have concluded that, despite the renewal, many aspects of spatial structure were not modified, situation which calls a future of hope into question.
