Resumen
This article analyzes various contemporary Spanish films as part of one of the most experimental trends within the paradigm of narrative complexity of contemporary visual culture: the so-called puzzle or mind-game films. To solve the question of what lies beneath these narrative disruptions in the Spanish case, we developed four sequence microanalysis based on a semiotic approach to one of the prevailing conflicts in the films Abre los ojos (1996), Los otros (2001), La mala educación (2004) y La piel que habito (2010). We conclude that the main discomforts which emerge are the fear of not distinguishing reality from fiction, the distrust against the technologies that determine human subjectivity and the oblivion of one’s own guilt.

Resumen
This article aims to review some works of Latin American and Chilean digital cinema, with emphasis between 2000 and 2017. We propose that the main transformation takes place in the rupture of linearity and new forms of interaction with the user/spectator, which results in a different aesthetic experience. We will go from transmediality and different forms of remediation, where the main element of experimentation is the medium itself, to audiovisual works that experiment with code language to create works that cannot be translated to previous formats

Resumen
Animation appears more and more in productions about events related to memory. We aim to analyze the works that incorporate animated scenes to represent the Chilean dictatorship and to deepen the convergence between animation, documentary and memory. From a qualitative perspective, we combine the analysis of animations with interviews with their directors. The results show that animation is a versatile format, which allows authors to overcome the absence of archive images, soften the degree of representation of traumatic events, lower costs, connect memory with new generations and favor the viewer’s empathy.

The explosive emergence of a new kind of Chilean cinema in the mid-2000s opened a discussion about its sources, motivations, narratives, and aesthetics, which has focused its efforts on the construction of a canon of contemporary Chilean cinema (Novísimo (newest) Chilean cinema, centrifugal cinema). This paper seeks to explore an alternative approach, establishing a division between a corpus of films that have international recognition and high circulation in festivals and a group of films less visibilized films that, in a sort of “termite” operation, stress and undermine the intentions of instituting an official canon of Chilean cinema

Resumen
This article analyzes the internationalization process of the Chilean cinema of the last decade in relation to international film festivals. Based on a multi-situated ethnographic research conducted during this period, the text analyses how recent Chilean cinema has internationalized its modes of production and circulation, aspiring to become a global art cinema thanks to the articulation of local policies with the international trends of contemporary cinema. The article focuses on the participation of Chilean professionals in the festival circuit, discussing its role in the internationalization of small and peripheral national cinemas.

Resumen
Llorenç Soler deserves greater recognition for his fundamental role in documentary filmmaking, as a critical testimony about contemporary Spanish society, and for the revision of the audiovisual perspective regarding the social construction of the Other, as otherness. Within the framework of the sociology of communication and dialogical anthropology, we applied a qualitative methodology of film analysis to three emblematic works in the margins of hybridization between fiction and documentary. The results indicate the validity of his authorial discourse in the subjective function of documentary as a territory where poetics surpass reality

Resumen
This article reports on a hypothetical situation in which a translator must translate a Spanish intercountry adoption dossier. Legal translation is the translation of legal documents and terms from a source language into a target language. Moreover, it is also a translation from one legal system into another, adding a further difficulty to those already existing in translation: the terminological incongruence between different legal systems. In this article we describe the duties of sworn translators, we underline the importance of the legal context and we analyse the matching of legal terms as a prior step to the process of translation.Keywords: Intercountry adoption, property, immovable properties, legal translation, sworn translation.
