Este artigo trata da vida profissional de dois autores de livro didático, que trabalham juntos e buscam produzir suas obras de acordo com as ideias do Movimento de Educação Matemática. Os autores relatam os episódios mais significativos de suas carreiras de várias décadas, envolvendo acertos, erros, obstáculos e algumas alegrias. O pano de fundo são escolas e professores, políticas governamentais, propostas curriculares, transformações do mercado editorial e os vastos problemas da educação no Brasil.

O presente artigo relata a investigação histórica do Desenho enquanto disciplina na formação de professores primários e como matéria de ensino primário, a partir da Reforma João Pinheiro. A legislação educacional foi utilizada como fonte de pesquisa. O desenvolvimento da mesma se deu a partir da análise dos pares: elementos e rudimentos; formação geral e formação profissional. Em termos de conclusão, as normativas que caracterizam a Reforma João Pinheiro, nos dois níveis de formação –primário e normal – trazem ensinamentos prescritos para o ensino de Desenho que indicam um ensino prático-utilitário cuja finalidade era a formação profissional.

O movimento curricular internacional conhecido como Matemática Moderna iniciado na segunda metade do século XX visava a transformação de representações e práticas da matemática escolar. Em Portugal a reforma tem sido estudada recorrendo a documentação publicada em revistas da especialidade, a materiais de arquivo e a testemunhos de participantes. Este artigo pretende alargar as fontes estudadas, integrando nesse conhecimento o testemunho de artigos publicados em jornais diários de grande circulação.

Com a disseminação de documentos oficiais enfatizando a importância da matemática financeira na educação escolar, considera-se emergente a problematização das relações existentes e possíveis no seu irrompimento, a fim de historicizar a constituição desse saber. Objetiva-se, em um projeto de tese em andamento, analisar um conjunto de práticas sócio-culturais que possibilitaram a emergência da educação financeira no currículo da matemática escolar. Entretanto, apresenta-se neste artigo, uma análise em livros didáticos a fim de evidenciar as positividades deste conteúdo em outros momentos da história. O modo como se alinha a elaboração desta história é com as ferramentas teórico-metodológicas segundo Michel Foucault. A análise dos livros didáticos mostra que estes são lugares de inscrição de um tipo de educação financeira, em meados da década de 50 e 60, com abordagens diferenciadas para os anos iniciais e a formação de professores. Feito isto, e tomando-se os livros didáticos como lugar de inscrição de discursos educacionais, percebe-se a permanência de um conteúdo que atualmente apresenta-se de outro modo, com ênfase no consumo consciente, no sentido de educar para as tomadas de decisões financeiras.

Este trabalho apresenta a história do Ensino Médio como etapa de aprendizagem que antecede o Ensino Superior. Estuda a constituição desse segmento no início dos anos 1900, analisa outras reformas educacionais e verifica os principais pontos da reforma de 2017. Busca também entender como a Matemática é ensinada nos períodos estudados. Os dados foram produzidos por uma pesquisa bibliográfica que integra uma tese defendida em 2018. O artigo apresenta o Ensino Médio como um segmento que, no Brasil, nunca teve uma identidade definida, prevalecendo a dicotomia entre a formação propedêutica e a profissionalizante. Essa etapa de ensino passou, em 2017, por meio de Medida Provisória, por alterações profundas, mas é preciso ainda observar se elas resultaram na almejada permanência dos adolescentes nos estudos.

Hydrometeorological hazards have historically affected Central America and significantly impacted the isthmus. However, the spatial distribution of those impacts is heterogeneous and depends on several factors, such as storm trajectories and community vulnerability. To address the spatial distribution of impacts related with historical events, Honduras was used as a case study. This paper was aimed at identifying the municipalities most impacted by the hydrometeorological events and at studying their correlation with socioeconomicvariables. Impacts recorded from 1919 to 2012 were collected from the DesInventar and EM-DAT databases. Data was georeferenced using a Geographical Information System and the information was disaggregated atlocal government scale. Spearman spatial correlation were calculated between physical variables and socioeconomic indices. The municipalities that reported more impacts included La Ceiba, Choluteca, Francisco Morazán and Yoro. Three hazards were found and the most important regarding impacts: cold fronts or outbreaks, tropical cyclones and easterly waves. The first type was more common during boreal winter, while the last two hazards were normally found during boreal spring-summer-autumn. Population and poverty were the social variables with the highest correlation with impacts. The analysis showed that spatial distribution of impacts related with hydrometeorological causes cannot be explained solely by climate causes. Therefore, other variables, such as socioeconomic should also be considered in analyses of these types of impact.

The purpose of this article is identify the territorial factors that can drive or hinder the establishment of a territorial system of agri-food production (TSAP), under the territorial development approach in the canton of Carrillo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Since 1990, Guanacaste has experienced a displacement of agricultural activity due to tertiary activity. In this article, we investigate factors that can promote growth considering the current conditions that regional new projects offer, for example: the creation of the PIMA Regional Market in Carrillo, the cargo terminal extension at the Daniel Oduber Quirós airport in Liberia and the construction of the dry channel from La Cruz to Puerto Limón. As a result of the analysis, the components of a territorial agri-food production system for the province are proposed, considering the characteristics of the companies and the synergy that these bands should have with the institutions.The article concludes that TSAP promote a high associativity and linkages between companies, government and available resources. In addition, it includes the environment as a variable to considerer in this processes. As a whole, this kind of system can be consider as an alternative to promote the food security and sovereignty of the regions, through the supply of a market with local products.

In this paper it is discussed the potential of the short circuits as a viable strategy to promote the construction of local markets. It is studied the growing of the cape gooseberry (Physalis peruviana) in Costa Rica, considered nowadays, as an incipient agricultural product within the production set of the national agribusiness, which also shows great possibilities of exportation. This discussion is complemented with the obtained results from a study of consumer’s perceptions, which is fundamental to comprehend the national demand’s characteristics of this fruit. Growing cape gooseberry in Costa Rica is characterized by being a small family business, with a high participation of women who are producers as part of the labor force. The production is mainly based in the high areas of North Cartago and Zona de los Santos, in the south-center of the country. The study was done during the last trimester of the 2017 year and also January of 2018, and it considers documental analysis, consultation to the experts, and the implementation of an on-line survey, as part of its methodology. The invertigation concludes that the commercialization by short circuits adapts to the analyzed case, to which it is necessary to stimulate the principle of network-based governance among local producers. The marketing of this type of commercialization requires an effective support structure, including the identification of an agricultural policy that is in the same page with the dynamics of territorial development and the particular needs of each zone.
