This paper is aimed at presenting an egg production management model based on the good practices of the best productive poultry farms in Cuba. Its theoretical bases take into account the process approach, the approach towards compliance with technical standards, the animal health management, and the organization of the stages of the egg production process. The model developed consists of 3 stages and its implementation was carried out through a general procedure including 4 phases. The General Index of egg production management was determined finding that 37.5% of the poultry farms analyzed were deficient, 25% acceptable and 37.5% satisfactory. Based on the diagnosis, an improvement program was prepared by the Poultry Technology Division, and the good practices were determined based on the strengths found in the poultry farms analyzed.

The need to answer urgently to the environmental, economic and social challenges undertaken by the humanity, together the vertiginous advance of the information and telecommunication technologies, under the stamp of the digital transformation, are the base of the increasing interest on smart and sustainable cities. In this paper, international concepts and best practices on the implementation of smart cities are depicted, with the view of analyzing national needs and strengthening to deploy these development models. Particularly, the method of capacity building for cadres developed during two years in the Higher School of cadres of the State and the Government is described. Additionally, some mechanisms for incentivize open innovation to facilitate the renovation of cities and communities, so contributing of the wellbeing of their citizen and to build a more sustainable and prosperous society, are also presented.

This paper is about the relation between the socialist economic theory in development, basing in the Cuban experience and the proposed postulates in the Conceptualization of the Economic and Social Cuban model of Socialist Development, in the concert to the two principles pillars of the socialism: socialist property and planning. The texts demonstrate that the actualization of the model is for the continuity of the Cuban socialism development in the new historic conditions, looking for the prosperity of the society and the maintainable development of the system.

The generalization of the results of the experiment of the III Improvement of the National Education System is a current scientific problem that requires attention by the central and local administration. This process is a requirement in the management of public administration, in response to the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party in the period 2016-2021. For the first time, the Ministry of Education designs a proposal for actions to generalize the results of the pedagogical experiment in the improvement of the system. The proposal improves attempts to extend other scientific results, which were limited to the preparation of officials and teachers. The inadequacies presented in the experimental phase of improvement are taken into consideration.

This article develops a strategy that contributes to the competitiveness of the companies of the Enterprise Group of the Food Industry (GEIA), through the costs of quality as an element of management control. Methods and techniques of management, innovation, accounting and financial management, quality management and strategic prospective were applied. A strategic map was drawn up and the indicators of the balanced scorecard, internal client and quality performance were formulated, which should be applied in enterprises selected for their level of adequate management in the 2017. The feedback with the information of this enterprises, will allow to validate the proposal and to generalize the experience to the rest of the organization. The pattern elaborated for the GEIA can serve as guide for other Cuban enterprises.

The scientific and technological parks constitute a strategy for the impulse and development of the industries of high technology in many countries. At the same time, they allow the effective connection between the main actors of the science and innovation systems, and very in particular among the universities, research centers and the companies. The article has as objective to show the tendencies, regularities and classifications of the scientific and technological parks. It also contributes to elevate the innovation culture among academic, investigators and directive of the public and enterprise administration.

At the end of the decade of the nineties the requirements of the legislation of the Cuban economy, the growth of the activity levels of the organization, the impact of the so-called “special period”, after the fall of the socialist camp, were a stadium to be unfavorable in the economic management, finance and accounting of the network of institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), marked by a rating of poor in 80% of the external audits applied to these, a significant deterioration of the infrastructure affecting conditions of study, work and life of students, teachers, workers, and especially to the staff of the economic areas with weak preparation, insufficient qualification, and the consequent lack of motivation. In this scenario we gave especial importance to the overcoming of this personal at all levels, from the organization in general, and until each institution, which content, development and results was a special target of the development program of the economic activity of the MES.

In modern business organizations, the management of knowledge and the preparation of managers is a necessity so that the processes of continuous improvement are crowned with success. In this scenario, management by competencies becomes a key mechanism in the transformation of organizations, taking into account the aforementioned the present article aims to: design a strategy for the preparation of the reserve of the Higher Organizations of Business Management (OSDE), based on generic competences. For the achievement of the proposal were applied theoretical, empirical and statistical methods and were used, as main techniques: bibliographic review and documentary analysis, surveys, interviews and observation, which allowed to make an assessment of the current state of the preparation of reserves of managers, adjusted to the needs and requirements of this form of business organization, as well as the determination of the skills they must possess to assume their responsibilities as managers, linking them with the contents of the National Strategy for Preparation and Improvement of Cadres and Reserves State and the Government.

The analysis aims to characterize the behavior of scientific research on citizen participation during the period 2000-2017, through bibliometric indicators to determine trends in scientific production and analyze the evolutionary process of citizen participation, based on the possibilities for citizens to influence municipal decisions, as well as the identification of some gaps for future research. 256 records were used and Microsoft Excel and Ucinet 6.0 were used for data analysis. As a result, it was found that there is a growth trend, with 2005 being the starting point, the topics most addressed were the quality of public services and citizen participation.

The article aims to present the social profile of cooperatives from a legal approach, and highlight the peculiar features that this form of organization of the company exhibits against the commercial companies with which, often, are often confused. In this sense, it is based on its nature to be able to understand the whole juridical, economic and social framework of the cooperative entity, in particular, of the associated work cooperatives, as a modality that characterizes cooperativism in Cuba, with an emphasis on the nature of the link that is established between the cooperative and its members, and between the first and the work force that it contracts, with the aim of responding to several questions that recurrently arise in relation to the legal nature of the cooperative. this economic subject and, as a derivation of it, the distribution of jurisdiction in the courts to settle the different conflicts that, in the context of current Cuban cooperativism, emerge with an ascending behavior, as a consequence of the new economic scenario of society.
