Typically, low intensity and shallow seismicity occurs in the central portion of the State of Hidalgo. Simple statistics, ordinary Kriging analysis, and a Kernel density map were combined in order to investigate the seismicity of central Hidalgo, between 1999 and 2017. Findings show that the shallow seismicity has increased in the past four years, in spite of an inferred continental crust thickness of ca. 45 km, and strongly suggest the emplacement of an active, semicircular, magmatic body. Finally, a tectonic model is proposed in the context of the subduction system of southern Mexico and the geologic evolution of the central sector of the Trans Mexican Volcanic Belt, in Hidalgo.

The following article seeks to explain how the incorporation of rural land to the development of intermediate cities, is a growing phenomenon in which real estate developers only consider the cost-benefit variable. The only important thing is the highest number of housing in a real estate development, regardless of the social area and the saturation of services, usually do not analyze the road infrastructure, urban equipment, and most importantly, basic services, such as: water, light and drainage. A multi-criteria model (Hierarchical Analytical Process, AHP) is proposed (Saaty, 1980), which helps to prioritize the urban vocation, starting from five macrovariables: 1. The legal situation. 2. the type of property for its use 3. the specific factors of the study area. 4. economic factors 5. ecological factor, plated a decision tree and paired comparison matrices that help us to select the most appropriate soil.

Ozone (O3) is present in different layers of the atmosphere: in the stratosphere, it acts as a filter for ultraviolet radiation emitted by the sun; while in the troposphere, it is a harmful pollutant for living organisms, and it is also a precursor gas of greenhouse effect. The objective of this study was to evaluate the hourly variations in the concentration of O3 in the municipality of Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo, for this we use colorimetric detectors prepared with a starch / KI solution. The results obtained by the exposure of the detectors to the O3 in the study area showed that the maximum concentration of this gas occurred at 12h00, with an average temperature of 18.5°C and a relative humidity between 16 and 20%.

Despite the idea that paper is a sustainable material, the process for its production implies great consumption of water and electricity and the generation of many pollutants. The sustainability of this material rely on its recyclability, however, worldwide only 55% of total production is recycled. There are some biotechnology options that could help mitigate the pollution generated by this industry, for example, production of cellulose through bacteria, biopulping through enzymes and treatment of effluents by microorganisms. Although these options do not constitute a total solution to the problem, they could be part of an answer.

Some people think that any discharge to a body of water is pollution. With current systems for transporting and conducting wastewater generated in homes and industries, it would be almost impossible and unwise to ban the discharge of these wastes into the oceans, rivers and groundwater basins. According to their origin, wastewaters are classified as domestic and industrial. Also, depending on the waste present are classified as organic and inorganic wastewater. There are rare residues such as discharges from cooling processes (leading to thermal changes) and radioactive waste, mainly from hospitals, research laboratories, and nuclear power plants. Not treating wastewater produce adverse effects on human health and the environment. Nowadays various technologies can be used to treat wastewater, known as primary, secondary and tertiary treatments. In Mexico, there are Mexican laws that regulate wastewater and treated water discharges to a water bodies, soils, and municipal urban sewer systems, etcetera. Water resource protection is everyone's responsibility.
