Whereas, on the one hand architectural representation has been studied as a language, and on the other hand the profound implications of the relationshipbetween language and thinking, this paper points out the role of thinking and intelligence in the production of architectural representations. This problem is carried out, firstly, establishing a theoretical discussion throughout the revision of different authors and schools of thought from the 20th century, which belong to linguistics, psychology, philosophy and neuroscience, among other fields. Secondly, this paper will describe the production of human representations (ontogenetically and phylogenetically), the existent types (acting, iconic and symbolic), the material supports involved (language, graphuage and manuage) and its basic mental correlatives implied (concepts, percepts and endocepts) in order to make a distinction between thinking and intelligence. Thirdly, this paper will describe different disciplinary representations (drawing, architectural model and work) and how they are confronted with the previous topics, by concluding that it is possible to talk more about intelligence than thinking, this phenomenon being associated to the architectural representations proper of the projective practices. Finally, this paper discusses the possible consequences derived from conceptual precision, carried out in the field of architectural representation, and it shows its potential disciplinary implications.

The introduction of technological innovations and the integration of the stakeholders of the productive chain are important for the advancement of the construction industry. In this context, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Modular Coordination are potential tools to make the productive process more rational and sustainable. This study aims to identify the contributions of BIM to the application of Modular Coordination principles in building components based on the modeling of the E1 Building at the School of Engineeringof the University of São Paulo in São Carlos/SP. Therefore, the research was structured in five steps: 1. Understanding the theme, with the Literature Review and Documentary Analysis of the E1 building project; 2. Field survey, by means of a visit to the building; 3. Window modeling in BIM software; 4. Evaluation of the model, with verification of the principles of Modular Coordination; 5. Systematization of results and conclusions. From this experience, it was verified that BIM allows the development of modular components design with greater efficiency and reliability, due to factors such as increased information visualization and interference verification, high dimensional precision modeling and automation of the distribution of the components.

This article aims to discuss the contribution of qualitative research to projects of restoration of buildings with recognized historical and cultural value. The research from which this concern emerged was tied to the area of preservation of historical heritage. The object of study was the Rotunda of the Railway Complex of Ribeirão Vermelho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, whose memory value conferred an interdisciplinary character to the investigation, through a dialogue between the Engineering and Architecture areas. In this article we aim to be clear about the evaluation of stability and security of the existing structure in its relationship with conservation and architectural preservation criteria, with emphasis on the ethical question of restoration. We discuss the relevance of qualitative studies to diagnose the conditions of the building and, thus, to establish guidelines for intervention in the structure of the building with a view to its rehabilitation. In the discussion of the results, the contribution of the qualitative analyzes was considered, given the understanding of the building as a historical document, which, in dialogue with the results of the quantitative studies, allowed to elaborate the intervention guidelines for a possible Rotunda restoration project. The study was concluded with the defense of investigative approaches that integrate qualitative and quantitative analyzes as opposed to the systematic exclusion of the qualitative analysis, although in studies, like the developed one, centered in the evaluation of the stability and structural security.

A prospective longitudinal descriptive study was conducted in patients with some degree of sexual erectile dysfunction at the Healt Centre Enterprise in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, during the period October 2016 to June 2019, in order to describe the behaviour of the acupuncture method in this disease. The following variables were used: age, etiology, degree of sexual erectile dysfunction, clinical evolution, adverse reactions, and age of onset of the disease. The total number of male patients in the above mentioned clinic was taken as the universe, 2967 patients, and as a sample the 158 patients with sexual erectile dysfunction treated with acupuncture, through selection, by inclusion and exclusion criteria. A predominance was found in the 35-40 year age group with 98 patients for 55.00%, a time of disease evolution of less than one year with 98 patients (55.00 %), and a predominance of satisfactory response to treatment in 89.00 % of patients, with absence of adverse reactions in 83.00 %. We therefore concluded that acupuncture is an effective option for patients with sexual erectile dysfunction.

The advances experienced in the science and the technique, they have transformed to the XXI century into the century of the information that which has their repercussion in the field of the Therapeutic Physical Culture. Therapies of manipulation of the therapeutic massage have been introduced that allow to generate, to solve and to exchange information about the result in their use of these therapies, being promoted a significant socialization of the use of the same ones, to which is not other people's the education. The work arises starting from experiences in the application of the massage Reflexológico Podal in the treatment of mature active hipertensos linked to programs of the Community Physical Activity of the municipality Güines County Mayabeque that from the prophylaxis and therapy constitutes an important base to eliminate signs and symptoms of the illness elevating the functional physical state. The same one has as objective to expose the results of a treatment that it has been applied, sophisticated and used in investigations during several years for the authors and other professionals of the specialty, starting from the knowledge acquired in the work prophylaxis and therapy. In the development of the work the methodology is exposed for the application of the massage reflexológico podal, Steps of Relaxation. Starting from these results you could conclude that the massage influenced positively in the treatment of the HTA in the adult, symptoms found its disappearance with this treatment type achieving high motivation levels and satisfaction for the results in the investigated fellows.

Introduction: in pregnant women with pregestational diabetes mellitus (type 1 or 2) and gestational diabetes the determination of glycosylatedhemoglobinisparticularlyimportantbecauseitscorrelationalvalue has been seen with the development of maternal and fetal complications. Objective: to characterize the glycosylated hemoglobin in the different trimesters of pregnancy. Methods: cross-sectional analytical observational study in the Manuel Fajardo Gyneco-Obstetric Hospital during he second semester of 2016 to 100 healthy pregnancies that attended the prenatal control; and a control group of 150 healthy non-pregnant women older than 17 years in the population corresponding to the municipality of Güines whomt the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Determinations of glycosylated hemoglobin and fasting glycemia were made. Results: the healthy pregnant women the average glycosylated hemoglobin was lower than in non-pregnant women, respectively 4.50 % (4.41-4.49) versus 5.21 % (5.16-5.26), P <0.001. In the healthy pregnant group, glycosylated hemoglobin increased with the trimester of pregnancy p <0.05, first trimester: 4.35 (4.20 - 4.47), second trimester: 4.58 (4.45 - 4.70), third trimester: 4.61 (4.14 - 5.08). Conclusions: during pregnancy the percentage of Hb A1c increases with the trimester of pregnancy, so it is important to determine its reference value for better metabolic control of pregnant women

A review of depression in the elderly was carried out with the aim of exposing important aspects related to diagnosis, evolution, prognosis and treatment in order to contribute to a wider understanding of this mental disorder in the elderly population, taking into account the constant growth of this population and presenting depression as an entity of relevant importance because it is one of the most frequent mental disorders at this age. An updated overview was also presented on some components of the health status of the Cuban population aged 60 and over based on statistical data provided by official statistical information systems. An increase in population ageing was observed between 1970 and 2003, with 14.5% of the population over 60 years of age in 2003. Care for the elderly has been consolidated by increasing the number of geriatricians as well as the units providing health services to this sector of the population. The main causes of death correspond to chronic non-communicable diseases, the first five of which are: heart disease, malignant tumors, cerebrovascular disease, influenza and pneumonia, and diseases of the arteries, arterioles and capillaries. In these ages the greatest risks of illness corresponded to acute respiratory infections and acute diarrheal diseases. High blood pressure was the most prevalent disease affecting women. The ageing of the Cuban population is one of the most important demographic and social implications of the decline in fertility, mortality and increased life expectancy.

"Currently, there is sufficient evidence that a regular exercise program reduces blood pressure by about 10 mm Hg. This is considered a significant reduction of blood pressure in the therapeutic area, greatly favored when compared to medical treatments because of its lack of side effects, in addition to the fact that it presupposes healthy lifestyle habits, increased quality of life and sustainable development, based on the low material and monetary cost required for its implementation and monitoring”.
