Environmental education must be based on critical and innovative thinking, at any time and place, in its formal, non-formal and informal expressions, promoting transformation and the construction of society. The research aims to: Demonstrate the contribution and challenges of the educational strategy on the environment at the Municipal University Center of Cabaiguán. The contribution of this strategy consisted in contextualizing the learning-learning strategy for environmental education. It was structured in six stages: Introduction, diagnosis, general objective, strategic planning, instrumentation and evaluation. It was based on theoretical and empirical methods: analysis and synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logical, modeling, and systemic, document review, observation, survey, seminar and questionnaire. The educational strategy was designed based on the diagnosis, it was theoretically and methodologically based on philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical bases, with a scientific approach that favored its development. It focused on cross-cutting education to the three substantive processes of higher education in correspondence with the search for solutions to environmental problems from the local to the global, the stages through which the historical development of environmental education in Cuba has gone through, considering it an integrated and sustainable development concept, with a deep recognition of the social and the cultural.

The work is projected towards the analysis of a set of geosocial-environmental aspects present in the training process of the Environmental Engineering professional, and the importance of this type of graduate in the context of the philosophy of Good Living. Its non-experimental performance aims to support the relevance of the Environmental Engineering Degree that is carried out at the South State University of Manabí, based on its link with the geographical area in which it is located. Analytical - synthetic and inductive - deductive methods were used as essential methods, in the theoretical order and, empirically, the analysis of documents that included the set of laws and other state provisions, in addition to the official documents of UNESUM. In the development of the work, the characteristics of the profile of the professional to be trained were explored; current limitations in the training process are specified; the necessary link with the state definitions on the subject and its adaptation to the particularities of the territory that make up the university area of ??influence. As a result, guidelines are established for the career to train professionals who are capable of developing comprehensive mechanisms of prevention, monitoring and control, to protect the interests of society in relation to environmental protection

This research aims to design an action plan to mainstream the gender approach in the Environmental Education Strategy of the "Enrique José Varona" University of Pedagogical Sciences (UCPEJV). For this, a series of goals and actions will be proposed that will imply a logical, interconnected and coherent inclusion of the gender perspective in the process of design and implementation of actions that promote the conservation of the environment. Its usefulness lies in its contribution to pedagogical theory in the training of teachers based on conceptualization, the determination of theoretical-methodological references for understanding the gender-environment link for a sustainable development. As well as the proposal of thematic axes that may be addressed by the teaching staff, taking into account the content system of the subjects they teach; this will allow eliminating the biological positions with which the topic is approached and integrating the psychological, pedagogical and social components. Likewise, it will allow conceiving and guiding the pedagogical process in the university itself from a school dynamic, which produces a dialectical relationship between activity and communication through the direct link of each of the participants on the basis of respect for differences, equity and responsibility.

We hereby present a piece of enquiry focused on the identification of the difficulties that pupils face regarding problems solving in situations that require change and combine, and, more precisely, on the detection of the errors made in such process. Samely, we aim to determine whether there is any relation between gender and type of error. This study is exploratory in nature and applies a set of already validated problems. Findings show that pupils make more error in Change problems tan in Combine problems. The most frequent error is that they turn to mathematical operations of either addition or subtraction, choosing the corresponding opposite operation.

GeoGebra is a dynamic math software for all educational levels that brings together geometry, algebra, spreadsheet, graphs, statistics and calculus into one easy to use program. This study focuses on how this resource can be used to improve the teaching of STEM in Engineering training, through a didactic proposal that follows a Context-Based Approach methodology, where the context is a real need for a company that can be translated to the Engineering classroom to implement good practices in STEM teaching. The specific purpose is that, based on specific observations, we need to show information about the density and height of clouds. For this we must calculate the points that define an area of clouds and find a polygonal representation of the surface that it occupies.

Gonzalo Antonio Serrano was a doctor, mathematician and astronomer from the eighteenth century with a large volume of publications in various scientific areas. In this article we carry out a content analysis of one of his works, a treaty of problems of plane geometry, published in 1736. We show a brief biography of the author and analyse the conceptual structure of the work, the systems of representation, didactic strategies used and phenomenology of the problems posed.

The work of Early Childhood Education teachers determines to a large extent the mathematical actions which their students develop in the classroom, and which later they transfer to daily contexts. Therefore, it is important that teachers program and develop rich mathematical experiences from the first levels. It is about made mathematics a useful and functional tool for students allowing social inclusion, but not the segregation of students by results. Project-based learning allows a priori significant situations in which the new learning are abstracted and understood through the action. This paper presents a study of the analysis and implementation of work projects in a classroom for early childhood education, from its programming to its evaluation, as well as its correlation with the mathematical abilities of the students.

An exploratory study is presented on a particular type of descriptive word problems of long tradition and importance in the development of mathematical thought: the problem of posthumous twins. The methodology that supports the study has two complementary aspects: the historical epistemological analysis and the didactic analysis in textbooks and school textbooks. With emphasis on problem solving, the importance of integrating the history and epistemology of mathematical ideas into educational research is emphasized, for the benefit of students and teachers.
