Resumen
Se realizó una investigación Observacional Descriptiva sobre el comportamiento de las infecciones nosocomiales en el paciente grave pediátrico ingresado en la Unidad de Terapia Intensiva del Hospital Provincial General Docente “Antonio Luaces Iraola” de Ciego de Ávila entre enero del 2000 y enero del 2005. Los resultados más importantes fueron: el 34.8% de los pacientes tuvo una estadía hospitalaria de 8 a 15 días y el 50.1% procedía del Cuerpo de Guardia. De todos los gérmenes aislados el 67.4% fue Gram. negativo y la Pseudomona aeruginosa se presentó en el 29.6% de los casos, seguida por la Klebsiella sp. (14.8%). Se concluyó que hubo un predominio de los microorganismos Gram. negativos y la Pseudomona aeruginosa fue el germen más frecuente en la producción de infección nosocomial. Existió una relación directa entre la infección por Pseudomona aeruginosa y la ventilación mecánica, la Klebsiella sp. con el abordaje venoso profundo y el Estafilococo sp. con la puntura venosa.

Resumen
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de tipo prospectivo de 23 lactantes ingresados en el Servicio de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica del Hospital General Provincial Docente de Morón que por alguna razón necesitaron el abordaje de la vena yugular interna para la administración de fluidos, medicamentos y monitoreo de la presión venosa central (PVC) en el período comprendido entre enero y diciembre del año 2002. El catéter vygon número 17 se colocó en el 92,4 % de los lactantes de 1-3 meses. Las patologías que necesitaron el mayor número de cateterismo fueron las diarreas complicadas (34,7 %) y las sepsis ( 26,1 %). Los pacientes no complicados aportaron el mayor porciento del estudio (60,8%), y la no progresión del catéter y la infección del mismo resultaron ser las complicaciones más frecuentes (50,0%). Los lactantes desnutridos se complicaron con un 85,7% y los que permanecieron con un catéter por más de 5 días (66,7%).

Resumen
Se realiza un estudio epidemiológico descriptivo transversal, en un universo de 608 niños de ambos sexos, comprendidos entre 6 y 11 años de edad, de la escuela Agusto César Sandino del municipio Ciego de Ávila, durante el curso 2004-2005, con la finalidad de revelar las principales alteraciones bucales que presentan los niños con hábito de succión digital, a modo, de contribuir al perfeccionamiento de la intervención preventiva y curativa. Para la recogida de la información se utilizó la observación directa y la técnica de entrevista estandarizada para la identificación de la presencia de dicho hábito y de las alteraciones bucales. Los resultados pusieron de manifiesto que del total de niños portadores del hábito de succión digital el 75.4% presentaron maloclusiones; evidenciándose entre las alteraciones clínicas bucales más frecuentes la vestibuloversión de incisivos superiores y la mordida abierta anterior.

Resumen
Con motivo de esta edición especial de aniversario sobre el gran pensador de Tréveris una de las tareas imprescindibles es, sin duda, el rescate —además— del trabajo de sus muchos continuadores que (re)pensaron a K. Marx desde sus múltiples dimensiones, espacios y críticas. Uno de estos autores más cercano a nosotros y destacado a nivel latinoamericano es, indiscutiblemente, el profesor Bolívar Echeverría (1941-2010). En este contexto, y con la pretensión de rescatar la memoria histórica de su gran obra El capital, pero a través de los ojos y el pensamiento de Bolívar Echeverría, a continuación tenemos el honor de republicar una verdadera «joya» del pensamiento marxista latinoamericano: la traducción del Capítulo i: La mercancía, Sección i del Libro i que, en principio, fue publicada en la Revista Anales n.° 354 (1976) de la Universidad Central del Ecuador y que, ahora, gracias a la generosa autorización de la profesora Raquel Serur podemos (re)disfrutarla. Resumen
This paper aims to address the study of categories formal and real subsumption from Karl Marx. To this end, a brief historical tour is carried out to support the current affairs of Capital and, based on these categories, to study the current problems of society but in a special way, concentrating the analysis in a particular way on the understanding of the dynamics educational and specialized work. This, with the intention of clarifying the latent logics of subsumption of the university to the conditions of capitalist reproduction and, in addition, the need for transformation of the university institution.

Resumen
In today’s society, within the distributive conflict between capital and work, a new class stratum has emerged, the rentiers of the body, popularly known as ‘celebrities’. Ideologically, these rentiers promote the hegemony that earns the admiration of the masses. However, from an economic perspective, their place is different. They are parasites that extend their wealth by shifting a part of the surplus value generated by the collective worker with the sale of merchandise linked to the cultural industry. Here we will explain the origin of their social power: the body rent. To do so, we will develop the concept taking as basis the theory of ground rent exposed by Marx as well as a case study of music celebrities.

Resumen
The present article intends to take up and contextualize the continuity of Karl Marx’s hegemonic thought in Anthony Gramsci, which, beyond the theory of consensus, must be conceived and formulated from a complement of the State-force-domination, where the construction of hegemony implies establish alliances and agreements, and at the same time exert coercion on the subaltern classes, for this analysis we will study the relation of the government of the Revolución Ciudadana (2007-2017) with the big economic groups of Ecuador, to elucidate if under this period hegemony or domination in terms of political and cultural direction.

Resumen
In the contemporary debate about the nature of the distributional, the choice between ‘economic growth’ and ‘social protection’ is fundamental. Although the most influential modern theories debate this dilemma as part of the bipoliarity ‘freedom-justice’, its implications become crucial in the most recent theoretical deliberation, especially after the bursting of the housing bubble. Not only the characteristic uproots to the markets are updated, but in the midst of the crisis they eclipse both their omnicomprehensive competences and their elective logics of a closed nature that characterize them. This paper aims to detect the underlying distibutional implications in a more open elective context.

Resumen
The present article analyzes if the problem of the illicit financial flows can be explained from a global or regional perspective, identifying points of agreement and disagreement among the interests of the countries depending on the effects that it generates, as well as of the current proposals of solution. The social dumping and the financial stability are told in the principal elements of agreement whereas the financial recycling and the institutions that discuss the solutions are key components of disagreement.

Resumen
Capitalism is a system and a civilization in crisis characterized, among other fundamental aspects, by the exploitation of the worker, the super-exploitation of nature and the alienation of work and human beings looked at the margin or above the natural world. Therefore, the environmental crisis we are experiencing today is part of the general crisis of the system. Marxism provides a method to understand this reality, which must be applied to analyze and deal with ecological problems, understanding that social transformation must restore the metabolism between society and nature. Elements of that method considered here.
