Resumen
The paleontological deposit Las Llanadas is a spring rich in organic matter. At the beginning of the 20th century, studies of the site reports fossil materials of sloths, crocodiles, tortoises, and hutias. Two species of sloths, Acratocnus antillensis and Neocnus gliriformis, were new to science. In the present work, we present new fossil records of Peltophryne empusus, Osteopilus septentrionalis (anurans), Cyclura nubila (reptile), Tyto alba, Buteogallus borrasi (birds), and Boromys ofella (mammal). Recent bones of Lithobates catesbeianus and Capromys pilorides were found among the fossils. Of 2030 pieces, only 3% could be identified taxonomically, due to the high level of fragmentation.

Resumen
The predation of a free-living Tropical House Gecko Hemidactylus mabouia (Moreau de Jonnès, 1818) by the Spotted Brown Trope, Tropidophis pardalis (Gundlach, 1840), is recorded for the first time. Other two vertebrates, the Cuban Green Anole, Anolis porcatus Gray, 1841 (Squamata: Dactyloidae) and the small frog Eleutherodactylus planirostris (Cope, 1862) are also recorded as preys of this dwarf boa in the same locality.

Resumen
The study of an array of fossils of fishes from the tertiary of Cuba and the Hispaniola has allow us to identify several teeth of Sphyraena. This genus was previously recorded for the pliocene of western Cuba. Here we extend the temporal and spatial distribution of barracuda in the Caribbean, with three new localities in Cuba and one in the Hispaniola.

Resumen
The Yellow-breasted Crake, Hapalocrex flaviventer (Boddaert, 1783), and the Spotted Rail, Pardirallus maculatus (Boddaert, 1783), are rarely reported and poorly known birds on Hispaniola. Of the first species there were no recent records, while for the second, the range of distribution is significantly expanded based on new observations, which are chronologically summarized in order to assess the possibility of breeding in the island. Some rarely reported aspects of the latter species’ behavior are commented. The habitat is generally characterized in at least one locality where both species are syntopic.

Resumen
Después de situar el sentido del voto según el Código de Derecho Canónico, la autora muestra que la falta de claridad en los registros de lenguaje puede ser fuente de confusión y que es importante ejercer una vigilancia particular con vistas a la protección de las personas y de sus votos. En caso de duda sobre la cualificación jurídica de votos e incluso en caso de querellas, la autoridad eclesiástica, en virtud de la naturaleza misma del voto —acto de culto divino— debe ofrecer su escucha y su ayuda prioritariamente a las personas que han pronunciado votos, y considerar que han podido ser víctimas de manipulaciones.
