Mexico is among the nations with the highest tourist reception, however, the conditions associated with its development are not captured by institutional figures. It is therefore necessary to generate alternative indicators to visualize, from another perspective, their impacts. This paper analyzes the socioeconomic and tourist behavior of four municipalities with sun and beach destinations in the Northwest Region of Mexico: Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Puerto Peñasco and Ensenada; with the aim of detecting differences and similarities during the period between 2000 and 2015; as well as complementing the information with alternative indicators proposed here. For this purpose, quantitative techniques such as grouping of time series and estimation of growth rates were used, in addition to the graphic method and an exhaustive review of the literature. The results revealed that, although Ensenada had the highest number and growth rate of lodging establishments, in 2015 it presented the least number of rooms and units of lodging, of tourists, occupation and average stay; while Los Cabos maintained the highest amount and rate of growth of rooms, tourists, stay and average occupancy. Regarding demographic and socioeconomic variables, the latter municipality showed the highest growth rate and population density, the highest HDI and the highest level of remuneration. Mazatlan was at the lowest level of marginalization and poverty, in addition to having the highest level of schooling. This reveals that in the long run, not necessarily the higher remuneration, infrastructure, stay and occupation will have the lowest levels of marginalization or poverty. In relation to the proposed indicators, it was corroborated that tourism development generates important pressures on the environment, either due to the increase in the demand for resources, the modification of land use, or the presence of massive flows of people. This situation was more worrisome in the municipalities of Los Cabos, Mazatlán and Puerto Peñasco, where in some cases the tourists and their annual nights reached quintuple the total of its inhabitants, exerting a temporary increase in the population density. Based on the above, it was concluded that the development of tourism and its indicators attend to factors and events of different nature, which are not necessarily generalizable for all municipalities studied here. In this sense, agents involved in tourism policy should consider such disparities when designing measures that allow enhancing their positive impacts, reducing their negative effects and establishing limits to their growth.

The objective of this work is to present the product of the application of the Harmonic Tourism Methodology, proposed by Palmas et al. (2014) as a Theoretical-Methodological Model.Method. This methodology has the purpose of carrying out a tourism planning based on the interrelation of vernacular-rational knowledge of the communities; and that allows to analyze and manage the harmonic tourism as an alternative for local development under the attributes of sustainability. The methodology, part of the categories analysis: complex system, systemic elements and sub elements, harmonic tourism and vernacular-rational knowledge, which allow to integrate, from a vernacular-rational tourism planning diagram, the strongest interrelations between the subsystems Biophysical (natural) and anthropic (sociocultural). As research instruments, 274 questionnaires were randomly applied, 45 in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, familiarization visits and constant field observation over a 4-year period (2009-2013).Results. The proposed model was applied since 2014 in San Pedro Tultepec de Quiroga and the Chimaliapan Wetland with pilot groups of students and it is planned to continue it from the answers obtained with funded research projects. The study region is located in the municipality of Lerma, State of Mexico. Among the main results, there is the identification and explanation of the environmental problem from the perspective of complex systems, considering the harmonic tourism as a tool to foster local development. In addition to that, this methodology can be a construct to follow for the dissemination of information of the tangible and intangible services offered by the Wetland to the community, in order to promote the awareness of the rescue of the resources and their revaluation through tourism.Discussion. Leaving open the discussion that this methodology can be implemented for the local development of any community at a global level, since it is based and is consolidated in the revaluation of the communities' vernacular knowledge, in order to propose unique tourism territorial planning projects and with identity.

Introduction: Lignocellulose consists of three polymers: cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Biopulping is a pretreatment for lignocellulose using fungi as a means for delignifying it previously to pulping, since fungi may content an enzyme complex including lignin peroxidase, laccase, manganese peroxidase.  Native fungi may have the ability to delignify lignocellulosic material such as wheat straw, wood and others.Method: This work used ten strains from COLMENA collection at the Microbial Resource Biotechnology Laboratory (Instituto Tecnologico de Sonora). The selection of strains was performed by measuring the halo of enzyme activity of LiP, Lac, Xil during 14 days of incubation and determination of enzymatic index relating the area of enzymatic activity halo against the fungi growth halo, using the software Image J 1.44 for the calculation of the enzymatic potential index. Results: Ten strains were evaluated and the best strain for LiP was TSM35 with potential index of 3.83±0.29, for Lac and Xil the strain was TSO46 with potential index of 20.37±2.70 and 1.38±0.00 respectively.  With this study it is possible determine the potential for incorporate native fungi in a pretreatment process for delignification (biopulping).Discussion or Conclusion: From ten strains studied, three strains had ligninolytic activity by excretion lignin peroxidase, lacase and xylanase and they have the potential to be used in pretreatments in a delignification process.
