Resumen
This article examines Pablo Pérez’s work El mendigo chupapijas with the aim of studying his trash and queer aesthetic, focusing on his literary appropriation of sado-masochism and of the spaces associated with these practices. We observe Pérez’s account of a vagabond sexuality and the cruising in his writing, throughout which he encounters different sexual roles of power as well as a collage of diverse discursive genres which he seeks to include and adopt in his eclectic novel. We therefore seek to analyse the political dimensioning encompassed in this cultural intervention that Pérez produces, focusing on the representation the author offers of the struggle to affirm one’s identity.

I propose reading José Aricó’s “Marx y América Latina” as a work in which the author discusses Leopoldo Zea ´s proposals to study the history of ideas in such a way that it also relates to Carlos Real de Azúa ´s approaches: the obsessions and terms of a possible “esoteric history” or a “philosophical research”.

Resumen
In 2012, publishing house El hilo de Ariadna published Los san Signos. Xul Solar y el I Ching. This book contains the manuscripts in which Xul Solar registered in Neocriollo the visions he had after contemplating I Ching’s symbols. Nelson Osorio translated the manuscripts into Spanish. In this article I explore the gesture of registering the visions in Neocriollo as a way to generate metapoetic and metalinguistic reflections. The creation of a new language with the purpose of questioning language itself rises also the question on the possible connections between fiction and reality, fiction and life such as they can be perceived in the author’s heteronym :Xul Solar.

Resumen
This paper discusses how the detective novel we analyze narrates a revolution, in order to examine central concepts of Marxism (the State, class, the stages of capitalism) which guide, in turn, a way of reading the criminal story that underlies the plot. The introduction of espionage through the networks of illegal international trade in the Antilles (where an independent rebellion with socialist elements arises), imposes the search for new tools for reading the detective genre and redefining it. Crime as a branch of social production is the mediating instrument that allows us to read the contradictions in the modes of production, where old forms survive with anticipatory elements that are put in tension in a rebellion traversed by the international configuration of crime.
