This article analyzes the weight of race and ethnicity in the structure of wage inequality in the United Stated and Colombia, two different economies and societies that share common labor market issues such as occupational segregation and wage discrimination. Using data from the American Community Survey (2014-2018) and the Encuesta de Calidad de Vida de Colombia (DANE, 2018), this study adjusts linear regression models that allowed for establishing that even though race and ethnicity are classifications of different paradigms—biological and cultural, respectively—, their effect on wages in the two countries is similar, presenting a significant disadvantage for people of African descent.

In recent years, various social, political, and cultural processes have favored the effervescence of feminism in Mexico. Against this background, the objective of this article is to present a proposal a theoretical and analytical proposal to understand the construction of the political subject of feminism in a particular context. We consider the case of Baja California, in Mexico, due to the role it has played in recent years in shaping the feminist emergence. Through a phenomenological perspective and a qualitative and intersectional methodology, based on the analysis of narratives, the diversity of the feminist movement in Baja California is described. From a case study, we have been able to weave the empirical data with the theoretical proposals to offer new elements to the current discussion regard- ing the evolution of the feminist movement. Likewise, we show the intersubjectivity complexity that gives rise to the political subject not as a concrete materiality, but as a platform for collective enunciation. In the conclusions we elaborate on feminism as a relational device that looks dialectically on the common and the divergent to maintain its vitality.

The aim of this article is to analyze the public discourses of the Indigenous Women’s Move- ment for Good Living (MMIBV) in Argentine, to show how this collective discusses racialized social relations in the field of feminisms. First, I describe the theoretical-political place from which I carry out my collaborative relationship with the members of this movement. Secondly, I reconstruct processes that contextualize the racialization of indigenous women and their current struggles and interpellations. Based on this, from a discursive corpus made up of statements, manifestos, brochures and interventions in the media and social networks, I outline how the MMIBV reactivates the understanding of racism as an unequal distribution of visibility in the political community. Finally, I conclude with some reflections on the importance of reviewing racialized social relations from questions arising from the struggles of indigenous women.

This article shares the results of research exploring the differential characteristics of the pre-candidatures’ launch in Instagram videos, as well as the candidacies’ stories and feed —according to gender— during the 2021 legislative elections campaigns in Argentina. The sample includes 265 stories, 8 presentation videos, and 86 feed publications. A quantitative content analysis method was used, together with categories from socio-semiotics and theories regarding the mediatization of politics. The results show similarities in the most used types of content, as well as differences among legislator candidates according to their gender. The main differences were focused on the introduction of the public figure in the videos, content dissemination regarding media participation, the frequency of argumentation, content that alludes to contact with citizens, and posts and stories referring to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hoy en día ya nadie discute la importancia fundamen­tal que guardan los partidos dentro de cada uno de los sistemas políticos actuales. La entidad partidista aparece como un elemento natural en todo sistema político. Su presencia se hace sentir en cualquier clase de régimen: trátese de regímenes liberales o autorita­rios, de países altamente industrializados o de los llama­dos subdesarrollados.

La política económica de los últimos dos sexenios pudo mantener una tasa sostenida de crecimiento del produc­to nacional —6% a 7% anual—, con un moderado aumento en los precios —4% a 5% anual— con un tipo de cambio fijo —$12.50 por dólar— y con libre convertibilidad. La expansión económica se basó en una política de fomento al ahorro interno, estimulado por altas tasas de interés sobre activos de gran liquidez y poco riesgo, complementada con excesivos privilegios fiscales en favor de la acumulación y rendimientos de capital, de determinados grupos y ramas de actividad.

Este primer apartado tiene un propósito metodológico: intenta proporcionar un esquema muy simple que per­mita pensar en el capitalismo como totalidad. La inten­ción es la de sugerir que la crisis internacional actual afecta y tiene un modo de expresión particular en el mundo “subdesarrollado”. Sin embargo, en los aparta­dos siguientes nos limitaremos a examinar los rasgos principales que configuran la crisis de los países capi­talistas industrialmente desarrollados, ya que ese examen constituye el marco general dentro del cual debe entenderse la crisis de los países atrasados —incluido Mé­xico.

La manera como trata Marx a la ideología y a los ideólogos, tiene ciertos silencios sintomáticos. Posee un “oscuro secreto” en el cual la existencia del secreto mismo permanece oculta. Habiendo enfocado sus aná­lisis sobre lo que se encuentra oculto en otras teorías y en la sociedad burguesa, el marxismo puede parecer a algunos la personificación de un candor sano que no tiene secretos para sí. Por supuesto, clásicamente el delator desvía la atención de su propia culpa acu­sando a otro. Sin embargo, aunque su acusación tenga esa función autoprotectora, esto no quiere decir que estaba encaminada a hacerlo, ni que su acusación sea falsa.
