Resumen
This article aims to problematize the criteria through which faculty members’ publications and artistic work is analyzed and graded by the so-called Academic Regime Commission, the board in charge of assessing faculty members’ academic production at the University of Costa Rica, with special reference to four criteria cited in the regulations to evaluate the academic production of permanent teaching staff: originality, relevance, transcendence and complexity. We attempt to critically examine the relevance of the notions and criteria for academic merit from an intercultural and decolonial perspective. In fact, the issue of assessment of scholarly production in the university is perceived as sensitive in academia and is simultaneously bound to the internationalization of knowledge -an issue as political as education broadly is.

Resumen
This research seeks to determine how coping strategies operate, in indigenous Kichwa Kisapincha adolescents, whose ages range from 13 to 17 years and who are in a situation of child labor, comparing them with adolescents who are not in child labor conditions and who claim to belong to the same ethnic group. 20 people participated in this research. The period of inquiry lasted from January, 2019 to January, 2021, took place in the parish of Kisapincha, Ambato canton, Tungurahua province-Ecuador. Methodologically it is a quantitative study, the instrument used was the Coping Scale for Adolescents (ACS), from the Frydenber Lewis Manual, Spanish adaptation 2000. The main findings point out, that working adolescents, mostly opt for the strategy of physical distractions; while, adolescents who do not perform child labor prefer the strategy of relaxing amusements (Dr) which is characterized by elements that describe leisure activities. It is relevant to show that adolescents belonging to the Kichwa Kisapincha ethnic group have coping strategies aimed at solving the problem and coping in relation to others, which means that they show a good level of psychological well-being, despite their socioeconomic conditions.

Resumen
The Ecuadorian corridor as an expression of feeling, bitterness, and emotional relief, generally always contains a greater or lesser degree of fatalism in its design and structure, mainly due to a clear purpose of exalting the cultural values of the Ecuadorian people, especially in what it concerns the national spirit and the reactions of the defined idiosyncrasy typical of this country. The objective of this research was to identify the presence of fatalistic language expressed in the lyrics of some Ecuadorian corridors to identify possible patterns in its use. The research was also based on the Interpretative Hermeneutical research paradigm of qualitative methodology with a documentary-type research process, where commercial literature such as songbooks and magnetic acetate discs whose level of dissemination is public was analyzed. This information collected was cataloged, reaching the conclusion that the representation of evident fatalism in the belief in a superior force, feelings of frustration and misery, rebellion in the face of reality, paradoxical resignation, obsession with pain, boredom, and melancholy concur and evasion through the ingestion of liquor or some hallucinogen, which are present in the behavioral traits and idiosyncrasy of the Ecuadorian people.

Resumen
This article aims at identifying the impact that the implementation of teleworking has had due to the declaration of the pandemic for COVID-19, the actions taken by the organizations in the promotion of mental health, and the effects on health reported by workers. To achieve the stated purpose, mixed exploratory research methods were applied; with the participation of 88 people, of which 44 were male and 43 female. The results indicate that most of the organizations have conducted activities for the promotion of mental health. In addition, it was reported that the performance of the workers has improved; however, there are reports of an increase in symptoms such as insomnia, physical and mental exhaustion, among others. In conclusion, even though there have been activities carried out to promote mental health, and the reported performance has improved, negative effects on mental health are equally reported, thus, there is an evident need to continue researching the impact on mental health and work performance.

Resumen
Music (Mishima, 1965) is a novel that tells the story of a fictional psychoanalytic case, where characters Dr. Shiomi and consultant Reiko Yumigawa are presented in their process of curing the young woman's inability to "listen to music" (having an orgasm). This document conducts an analysis of the mentioned case, through the technique of the “three readings” (Murillo, 2010): philological reading, semiotic reading, and psychoanalytic reading. After doing a background review of the novel and developing the first two readings, the argument of the psychoanalytic reading is presented, in which it is expressed that the character Reiko suffers from her frigidity because she did not feel worthy of feeling pleasure with her boyfriend, the revered "good and pure" Ryuichi, in the wake of her own "impurity". In the end, it is established that in this novel there is a clear presentation of how some social traditionalisms may be capable of hurting a person to the point of making them a prisoner of a past over which they had no control, and the importance of paying attention to cases of a similar nature that may be happening in real life, to give them their due opportunity to "purify" themselves.

Resumen
This article presents the systematization of the supervised experience of a group of students of the Professional Practice II course of the Counseling career of the University of Costa Rica. In the application of a theoretical- practical training model for students, during the implementation of the personal-group modality, with children. For data collection, an evaluation guide was used to estimate the students during the development of the orientation sessions. To achieve this objective, the systematization model proposed by Oscar Jara was used. This was done to strengthen the training and professional development of the trainees. The aim is to report the successes and failures of this training to improve both the course and the professional practice, and to disseminate the results obtained. One of the most important points of arrival of the data obtained is that, in general, there was a good performance on the part of the trainees, because significant contributions are highlighted in this period of the training. However, there are also aspects to be corrected in which both the students and the teachers have stated that they need to improve their professional competence.

Resumen
Throughout History, there have been a number of relevant people who have influenced the version of the truth that we all think we know. Between them is the brother Bartolomé de las Casas whose alleged philanthropic view sought that the Indians from America had a better treatment on behalf of the Spaniards. However, his masked philanthropy made Bartolomé de las Casas alter the real History from both daily talks and institutionalized Education. The aim of this paper is to analyze Bartolomé de las Casas’ personality from the current Psychology`s perspective. By using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and unpublished documents collected by Luis Torres in 1867 we try to show that Bartolomé de las Casas has narcissist trails and there is a fundamentalist thought in his Personality, which needs constant self-validation.

Resumen
Cognitive bias has been referred to as an issue with various consequences for psychologists. This paper studies representativity and confirmation bias in a sample of psychology students (n=65). An online questionnaire containing two tasks was applied: one to assess representativity bias and another to assess confirmation bias, as well as a personality test. Results suggest that the career year is not related to the bias level reported by the participants. However, significant statistical differences were found in the levels of bias by gender and place of residence. Women showed higher levels of representativity bias and urban residents higher levels of confirmation bias. The results' relevance and linked factors are discussed. Furthermore, a review of possible debiasing interventions is included.

Resumen
In the university context there are a few risk factors related to anxiety and depression. As a response to this situation, the present study aims to promote mental health in the student population that belongs to the University of Costa Rica’s Campus in Liberia, Guanacaste through five recreational activities. A total of 227 students from various careers participated and the results reflected the presence of suicide ideation, frustration, fatigue, and anxiety symptoms, as well as the existence of protective factors such as family, friends, and university scholarship. The replication of the strategies proposed is desirable in other university contexts, involving students and professors in order to recognize the influence of the factors mentioned in the learning process.

Resumen
The objective of this research is to establish the relationship between violence against women and symptoms of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. The sample is made up of 110 women from Santa Rosa (Tungurahua, Ecuador), selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling with inclusion criteria. For this study, a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive and correlational cross-sectional design methodology was used. The assessment was conducted using the Conflict Resolution Tactics Scale (CTS-2) to assess Violence, the Beck Depression Inventory-II to assess Depressive Symptoms, and the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Severity Scale (Egs-R) to assess Posttraumatic Stress. Among the results, it was found that the study participants present a high level of violence in the Devaluation Aggression dimension, as well as a moderate level of depressive symptomatology; in the post-traumatic stress variable, all values are below the cut-off point of the instrument. Low positive and statistically significant correlations were found. Among the main limitations of the study, it was found that, due to its descriptive nature, it is not possible to establish an explanation for the associations described.
