It presents a didactic proposal related to the unit Sound corresponding to the course of Physics I of the Higher Technical Career in Hygiene and Safety in the Work. The gap between what the middle school offers on con-tents related to the production, propagation and perception of sound and the demands of the current society to the future Higher Technical was constituted in one of the motivating aspects for the design and elaboration of the proposal.

Reading is an activity that can be used to teach subjects of chemistry. Text about river pollution of the city was explored in order to teach and verify the comprehension of the subject of phenomena. After debated Chemistry and Biology classes, questions of specific knowledge about chemical, biological and physical phenomena and general knowledge about water pollution and sewage treatment were applied for students of three first level classes of public high school which are attended by Center of Activity for Citizenship Promotion of the State University of Montes Claros. The phenomena identification was unsatisfactory concerning the level of correct answers lower than 60, 54 and 21% for chemical, biological and physical phenomena, respectively, whereas water pollution question presented level of correct answers higher than 95%. Good answers were obtained for the sewage treatment question demonstrating that students agree with the necessity this action to preserve the water of river. The students were not able to do the reading of a way deeper to answer the question about specific content correctly.

This article aims to discuss the subject of electricity in the first years of elementary school, because we believe that the student of this early should be encouraged to learn the contents of physics and especially this subject that is of the utmost importance, since it is part of the Of children. Thus, we developed a sequence of research teaching, addressing the contents of electricity, since the National Curricular Parameters of Science Teaching consider the presence of these contents in elementary education important. In view of this, the proposed research will be of a qualitative nature, type research action, developed in a class of the 5th year of elementary school, being the research site a School of the Municipality of Palmeira dos Índios. As an instrument of data collection, we used questionnaires And audio recordings. For data analysis, we will use content analysis based on some indicators of Scientific Literacy proposed by Sasseron and Carvalho (2008). The results pointed out that Research Teaching is a methodology that provides the student with an effective and That investigative practices help students to become scientifically literate.

This article aims to discuss assumptions that permeated the development of the project "Comparative research on organization and curriculum development in mathematics education in Latin America," defending the theoretical basis in the context of mathematics education. Therefore, they are discussed conceptual and epistemological aspects that guided the construction of the said project, as well as the proposition of cultural diversity as a guiding curriculum studies in Mathematics, so taking post-colonialism as a theoretical assumption.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y trasversal en el Laboratorio de Microbiología del Centro Provincial de Higiene, Epidemiología y Microbiología de Guantánamo de enero a junio del 2016, con el objetivo de identificar la incidencia de Klebsiella pneumoniae aislada de muestras de esputo en pacientes con neumonía adquirida en la comunidad. El universo de estudio estuvo formado por 88 pacientes. Se aplicó el procedimiento de laboratorio propuesto por Expósito et al. Se identifican 72 muestras de esputo productivo, de las cuales son positivas al cultivo bacteriológico 56 muestras, de ellas en 34 se aísla Klebsiella pneumoniae, que resultaron la muestra en estudio, mostrando resistencia marcada a amoxicilina y ceftriaxona. Se enmarca este microorganismo como un patógeno que emerge como responsable de la etiología de infecciones respiratorias adquiridas en la comunidad.

Se presentó un caso de un enfermo con adicción alcohólica diagnosticado con una dependencia alcohólica ingresado en el servicio de Deshabituación del Hospital Psiquiátrico “Luis Ramírez López” de Guantánamo en el periodo de enero a diciembre 2015, llevado por los familiares para iniciar el proceso de rehabilitación. Con el consentimiento del paciente se pudo determinar la necesidad de ayuda especializada para mejorar el estilo y calidad de vida, se incrementaron los conocimientos acerca del daño que causa el alcohol así como los factores de riesgo que lo conllevaron a ser un dependiente. El acceso al conocimiento de programas de ayuda médica como la psicoterapia de grupo que ofrece la posibilidad de intercambiar opiniones y adquirir herramientas para enfrentar el alcoholismo permite disminuir la probabilidad de recaídas y posibilita elevar su estado de ánimo, su autoestima y lograr el control de las emociones con nuevos recursos psicológicos para enfrentar su problema convirtiéndose en un promotor más en la lucha contra el alcoholismo.

A diagnostic study was conducted at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo during 2016-2017 in Technical and Professional students with the objective of designing a strategy with aim of solving in any measure the detected problems, allowing the correct use of the language in this teaching. It was developed and implemented at first diagnosis resulting in an insufficient knowledge of the different spelling rules, incorrect wording and style, as well as poor communication standards among students. This document should be a permanent guide for actions to ensure the efficient use of language for our students with the development and exercise of the linguistic macro-skills.

A descriptive study was carried out on the impact of alcoholism on relatives of alcoholic patients admitted to the Psychiatric Hospital of Guantanamo, during 2015 - 2016. The current status of the relatives of the patients was evaluated at the time of admission and at the time of the study. Men predominated, 38.2 % were married, and 32.2 % were divorced; the time of ingestion of the drug was between 5 and 10 years followed by 11 to 20 years. Among the nosologic diagnoses of alcohol dependence, 76.7 % were reported. The predominant psychic affections in relatives were: family violence and insomnia. The disorders in adolescence influence, generating phobia, learning disorder and finally behavioral disorder, in the testimonies relatives recognize the suffering when living this bitter experience at home with an alcoholic patient, concluding with the serious affectations provoked by the repercussion of the disease in the relatives of these patients.

An investigation was carried out to identify the prevalence of dental caries in the first permanent molars in children of 6-12 years of age in the period 2013-2014, making a descriptive cross-sectional study. The universe consisted of 75 children from the José Martí Elementary School located in the Escondida de Monte Ruz, belonging to the municipality of El Salvador; which constituted the study sample. The data were obtained through the clinical examination, were recorded in tables of frequency distribution, using as a summary measure, number, index and percentage. The study showed a predominance of males and the 9-10 age group represented by 46.9 %. The COD-D index was 1.10, caries predominated in superficial dentin.

A cross - sectional descriptive study was carried out to determine the level of knowledge about biosecurity in stomatology in the technical and professional staff of the Julio A. Mella Clinic in Guantanamo province. The universe was constituted by the stomatological personnel who showed willingness to fill out the questionnaire. Knowledge about biosafety was analyzed: (knowledge of Biosafety standards, indications of surface disinfection and instruments, communicable diseases and general evaluation of Biosafety knowledge). An exhaustive bibliographical revision on the subject was carried out with universal and national literatures. The primary data were obtained from a survey sheet prepared by the authors. There were low numbers on a level of knowledge that was moderately sufficient, most of them showed insufficiency.
