Each type of content competes with each other to capture the attention of the audience, so it obeys various strategies that depend on a number of factors to be effective. Sports institutions, within the entertainment world, also need the generation of different strategies to capture the attention, not only of a potential or captive audience, the fans; but of companies that can be potential sponsors and of the media that will give them visibility, not only to the contents but to the management of each institution. In this essay, the key differences between the strategies, recommended practices and roles within corporate digital communication and sports digital communication are analyzed, which, when influenced by circumstances and factors possibly non-existent in other types of industries, must be reinvented in order to be effective.

The advertising self-regulation system in Chile has been operating for more than 30 years under the guidance of the Council for Self-Regulation and Advertising Ethics (CONAR), which, through a Code (CchEP), ensures compliance with the ethical standards voluntarily agreed upon by the main actors of the commercial communications industry in this country. This exploratory and descriptive research reviews 44 cases filed before CONAR from December 2019 to March 2020. It analyzes them from the origin of the complainants, the leading industrial sectors, and matters complained of, and in the articles of the CchEP welcomed and resolved using an ethical opinion.  This diagnosis makes it possible to recognize some particularities of the self-regulation system in Chile during the period studied and, in this way, to review some gaps that may serve the debate on the role of this corporation in the industry and the current legal and regulatory framework.
