Resumen
Collective memory is a fundamental part of our formation as individuals within social life. In this category is cinema as an audiovisual document that testifies the changes suffered over time. Its preservation, conservation and access allows us to know and reinterpret ourselves as individuals and society. In Mexico, cinema as an instrument of knowledge and as historical document of time and society, fulfills an essential task of entertainment, communication and expression that would not be possible if it didn’t exist institutions such as the Film Library of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which is in charge of safeguarding country's film memory. This paper, carried out through a qualitative exploration of documentary material, aims to present the contributions of the Film Library of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, in Mexico´s creation and preservation of collective memory and cinematographic culture; as well as to find the points in which its participation as a collective memory of the country has been weakened.

This paper is dedicated to the digitalised journalistic production of Luisa Carnés, with the aim of vindicating her role as a journalist during Spanish Second Republic. The retrieval of newspapers has made it possible to obtain a total of 269 articles signed by the writer from Madrid, both under her real name and under various pseudonyms. The Spanish newspapers studied were Ahora, Estampa, Crónica, La Esfera, As, Frente Rojo, La hora and Verdad, while only one publication from the Mexican period was chosen, Mujeres españolas. Boletín de la Unión de las Mujeres Españolas en México. The discovery of Carnés's articles is accompanied by a proposal for thematic classification, considering the author's interest in narrating the lives of women, working-class families, childhood, culture and politics.

Presentation of the monographic issue dedicated to journalism and algorithms. The panoramic vision of some of the related research problems is offered, such as the algorithms that decide the visibility of the news, those that affect the news aggregation and recommendation system, and some aspects of the so-called journalist robot. Finally, the investigations that are part of this monograph are presented. It concludes by claiming solid lines of research around these issues, not only from engineering, but from the social sciences and humanities. Given its impact on the future of journalism and of societies free of disinformation epidemics, contributions from social communication are essential.

The experience of the more than 35,000 volunteers from around the world who traveled to Spain during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) to help defend the Second Republic is preserved in an archival body that’s not only massive but geographically extremely dispersed. Focusing on the United States, this articles describes how a collaboration between a university library and an independent educational nonprofit has allowed both to keep alive the memory of the American brigadistas while also developing rigorous educational programs and other outreach activities.

In this research we present a digital project that compiles testimonies of people who were either victims, or suspect they have been victims of child abductions that occurred in Spain from the Civil War until the early 90s -better known as the “stolen babies” plot. To this end, we have recovered the methodology of oral history since, as Vilanova (1998) points out, oral sources can help explore the silences of the majority and explain why this occurs. The recovery of the memory of those affected has been accompanied by historical studies in a permanent dialogue between memory and history. The participation of associations for the recovery of historical memory has been key to its realization.

The "Herencia Latente" project is part of the "Festival Robert Capa estuvo aquí 2021". It consists of the collection, digitisation, cataloguing and dissemination of photographs kept by citizens in their homes, family albums... The main objective is the creation of a public access repository of images for the research of the collections. The secondary objective is to provide participants with basic conservation knowledge so that their photographic material is not lost over the years. The results are 270 photographs from 10 participants. More than 1100 donated photographs from three people. A low participation of the interested parties. New forms of action are being considered, starting with the study of the daily memory of the project and the implementation of the project in new centres in the coming months.

This article deals with the disaster of Annual, with the foregoing cases of Dahar Abarran and Igueriben and the sbsequente crumbling of all the military posts of the oriental región of the Sapanish Protectorate in Morocco. The article analizes as well, through the “Expediente Picasso”, the causes of this military catastrophe.

The article addresses the theme of memory through oral testimony and the documentary constructed on the basis of these testimonies, focusing on the documentary work of two filmmakers who, despite the distances, share certain common concerns: the Japanese Shohei Imamura and the Brazilian/Mozambican Licinio Azevedo. Both are concerned with intrahistory and giving a voice back to those who have been silenced by mainstream history. And both share concerns about the boundaries and hybridisations between fiction and documentary. In this way, the analysis reflects on the contamination of reality and fiction, film as testimony and as an element of vindication and social, political and ideological agitation. And also on the honesty of the gaze linked to aesthetic and narrative decisions, inseparable from each other.

This paper aims to rescue professor Enrique Álvarez López (1897-1961) from oblivion. During the 20th century he spent most of his life teaching and researching in the sphere of Natural Science. Influenced by a remarkable generation of Spanish intellectuals and scientists that underwent after the Civil War and under Franco´s dictatorship political repression either as exiles abroad or inside Spain. As an outstanding historian of Spanish naturalists and botanists he collaborated very actively with the Royal Garden and editor of its Bulletin. He is also considered a forerunner of ecology in Spain.

La documentación en sus facetas de búsqueda, catalogación, recuperación y difusión de los documentos en cualquier soporte, nos ha ayudado a preservar la memoria histórica a lo largo de los siglos. Por ello hemos juzgado pertinente dedicar un monográfico de la revista: Documentación de las Ciencias de la Información a unir estos dos conceptos que van de la mano, documentación y memoria histórica, dejando así constancia de los hechos de mayor relieve de nuestra historia reciente, en el que la Guerra Civil española y sus consecuencias han sido protagonistas de este monográfico (aunque otros hitos históricos como el desastre de Annual o el exilio alemán durante el nazismo, también han sido reseñados). Y así se nos ha demostrado que la historia se puede investigar y difundir gracias a la conservación de las fuentes documentales en los Archivos de: Asociaciones, Fundaciones, bibliotecas, hemerotecas, filmotecas, fototecas, etc., que han servido para sacar a la luz los artículos que componen este monográfico.
