This essay relates the concepts of organizational resilience to those of social marketing, exposing the commonalities between the fields of study and identifying how both associate to each other. Based on the analysis of the literature on both themes, an assessment of the confluences between resilience and the basic attributes of social marketing was made, in order to identify aspects that articulate such domains of knowledge. The proposal presented here indicates that adaptation and change — of behaviors, ways of proceeding, and attitudes, among others — are responsible for linking the study of resilience to the principles of social marketing, both of which are bound by the need to change behaviors and by the required suitability to certain unexpected situations. Regarding social marketing, a focus on the generation of social welfare was observed, while in the case of organizational resilience, companies focused on the inherent need to change to be competitive in the market, taking advantage of opportunities that may arise from a situation of rupture.

The present study aims to study the factor structure, reliability and validity of the Mental Health Continuum (MHC-SF) of Keyes (2009) in the Ecuadorian context. The scale was applied to two samples, one of 100 people that worked as a pilot and another of 550 people resident in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, who also were applied an adaptation of the PERMA Profile of Butler and Kern (2016) to verify the convergent and discriminant validity. It was observed that the application in this population presents adequate levels of adjustment and high internal consistency (α=.91) and an adequate general adjustment of the structure of three factors: psychological well-being, social welfare and emotional well-being proposed by the author whose main fit values are RMSEA= .045, CFI= .996, χ2(52)= 109.048 (p= .000), GFI= .997 y TLI= 0.993. The bifactor model presents good values as well: RMSEA=.042, CFI= .996, χ2(52) = 103.040 (p= .000), GFI= .997, TLI= 0.993. We conclude that the Spanish version of MHC-SF (Keyes, 2009) and the bifactor model are appropriate tools to measure mental health in the Ecuadorian context.

The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between psychophysiological disorders and psychological well-being during retirement in a group of Argentinian older adults. An ex post facto simple retrospective design was used. 150 older adults (self-sufficient, mixed-gender, of middle socioeconomic status, with stable and formal employment prior to retirement) answered a Socio-Demographic and Retirement Profile Background Questionnaire, a Health Status Questionnaire and the Psychological General Well-Being Index. The results show greater psychological well-being amongst those who presented less psychophysiological disorders related to retirement. These findings coincide with previous research and highlight the importance of studies on psychological well-being as a central aspect in older adult quality of life.

The objective of the present research was to obtain evidences of validity and reliability of the scale of locus of financial control, obtaining differences in structural variables. The study involved 300 university students, 110 men and 190 women, between 18 and 59 years old (M = 21.74; SD = 6.7) from the Metropolitan Zone of Mexico City. The locus of control was assessed with items that reflect that obtaining money is contingent on its actions. The results show the psychometric properties of an instrument that incorporates three factors related to the locus of control: internal, affective and external. Additionally, the findings suggest that university students have a higher level of internal and affiliative financial locus of control, differentiated by sex, type of career and level of work efficiency. The discussion analyzes the utility of the results within the Mexican socioculture, that having money is attributed to affective causes, external sources, as well as the decision to own money, which has implications when seeking new income and the contingencies to have it.

The first aim of this study is to describe the attitudes of preschool and elementary school teachers from a private school in Montevideo towards inclusive education. Attitude is defined as a set of perceptions, beliefs, positive and negative feelings, and ways of reacting to an educational process in which the main focus is for all learners to achieve learning outcomes. The second aim is to analyze whether these attitudes depend on a teacher’s position, academic background, contact with people with disabilities, educational stage, and years of professional experience. The study had a cross-sectional, descriptive design and utilized the Inclusive Education Opinion Scale instrument. Attitudes were assessed using a 23-item instrument with five response levels on a Likert-type Attitude Scale. The study worked with a non-probability sample of 44 English and Spanish teachers. The results demonstrated positive attitudes towards the foundations of inclusive education and towards inclusive practices. Additionally, the results reflect that Spanish language teachers have more positive attitudes towards the foundations of inclusive education compared to their English language colleagues. Furthermore, more experienced teachers were found to have more positive attitudes towards inclusive measures and practices. No statistically significant differences were found between teachers’ attitudes and the educational stage taught.

This study aimed to understand the transition from conjugality to late coparenting in dual career-couples. Five heterosexual couples in which women got pregnant after aging 35 years old, displaying professional activities, and having a firstborn child aged up to one year old participated in the study. Exclusion criterion was participants who have undergone any type of fertilization treatment. Instruments were a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The results point out changes in marital and coparenting relations. Fathers demonstrated to be collaborative throughout gestation period and mainly after child’s birth, splitting care tasks with their wives, as well as home tasks, which were reflected in high levels of coparenting agreements articulated with good marital quality. Although the investigated couples demonstrated high workloads, the majority of them seemed satisfied about their jobs due to employment flexibility, thus parents were able to conciliate their career with parenting.
