Resumen
Firstly, this paper aims to reflect upon how the teaching and learning process of expert knowledge is carried out in the field of French-Spanish legal translation in Spanish universities; to this end, a comparative study of the syllabuses of Translation and Interpreting Studies will be conducted in order to: a) verify the degree of interrelationship between legal training, on the one hand, and linguistic and translation training, on the other hand; and b) draw conclusions that allow us to distinguish the most appropriate methods to succeed in the training process. Secondly, a teaching experience carried out at Universidad de Málaga (Spain) will be presented through the discussion of a series of activities aimed at acquiring this legal thematic competence.

Resumen
For this research study we identified lexical units from a comparable corpus of approximately three million words in English, Spanish and French, taken web pages for private lodgings and accommodations. This corpus has lexical units related to hotel accommodations, services, facilities and management; these units constitute the entries of the Multilingual Dictionary of Tourism. In this article, we will focus our study on the lexical field of hotel management in French of the dictionary: simple and compound nouns. After, we’ll analyse some differences between the two languages and the solution taken for finding specific equivalents of chosen units in English.

Resumen
The development of corpus linguistics and tools for automatic language processing over the last twenty years has highlighted the importance of phraseology in all kinds of discourse, on the one hand, and enabled the development of programs necessary for modelling the lexicon, on the other. In that context, non-free multiword lexical units have been the subject of several studies in the area of language teaching and, in particular, the teaching of foreign languages. This article offers a continuation of that research based on our practical experience as teachers of FLE at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, taking strong idioms (Mel’čuk, 2008) as our object of study. Our aim is to determine whether the definitions for this kind of lexical item that appear in general dictionaries and in learner’s dictionaries offer the necessary information to guarantee the correct use of the idiom and, ultimately, to propose new lexicographical descriptions which could prove more effective for our students.

Resumen
The aim of this article is to analyse the poetics of Gustave Flaubert from the point of view of Giorgio Agamben’s concept of potentiality. In this regard, it can be said that the novels of Flaubert make of the philosophical problem of potentiality (as developed by Agamben in such articles as «The power of thought» or Bartleby or on contingence) a basic dimension of the literary construction. This is true in a thematic level (for instance, the multiplication of life forms in La Tentation de Saint Antoine) but also in a formal level (the use of conditional mode as a grammatical device to express potentiality). Paradoxically, it is by means of Bouvard and Pécuchet’s copy that potentiality finds its most distinctive form in Flaubert’s work

Resumen
This article studies the role of specific corpographies, that is to say manifestations of body representations and perceptions in the work of Amélie Nothomb, and how they relate to the death drive. The world Nothomb creates in her novels is heir to the philosophy of Plato, Zoroaster and Nietzsche, as well as to the vision of literature expressed by Lacan. We focus on the analysis of a number of characters, in their physical and relating moral aspects, as well as in their own vision of themselves. The novel is structured according to a constant dualism: youth and old age, life and death, thinness and obesity, beauty and ugliness, all of them taken in their most extreme condition. A celebrity author, Nothomb transforms our modern world by screening reality through one the great traditions of Western thought; she adapts the facts to fiction in order to paint an exceptional world of her own, full of humour and derision.

Resumen
On the Great War memorials are sometimes engraved some verses, which are generally poor and aesthetically backward-looking: these monuments obey to a democratic and civic logic, that implies the neutralization of any originality or modernism. But this poetry is also a means to include the recent conflict in the national history, with the quotation of French poets who have sung the wars of the 19th century. Victor Hugo’s “Hymn” is by far the most frequently quoted poem, particularly because of its ability to symbolically unify, in the name of patriotism, the revolutionary uprising and the defence of the territory

Resumen
This paper aims to analyze young Maeterlinck's literary use of French on the basis of the question about the narrator's language in his “nouvelle” Onirologie (1889), presupposing it is not a “silly question”. Firstly, we will establish the generic coordinates of the story and we will demonstrate one of its major intertextualities. Secondly, we will reflect on the fictional representation of the foreign language, in order to understand, lastly, the Maeterlinckean bilingualism as a case of extraterritoriality

Resumen
This paper is based on the analysis of the four most recent novels by Patrick Modiano: Dans le café de la jeunesse perdue (2007), L’horizon (2010), L’herbe des nuits (2012) and Pour que tu ne te perdes pas dans le quartier (2014). In the four works in question, the novelist carries out a complex exploration of memory, which will allow us to reflect on important issues, such as the construction of a plot composed of reminiscences, the cycle of memory and oblivion, the dialectic between youth and old age, or the fundamental role played by the novelist’s life experience

Resumen
The research contains a comparative study of French oral vowels realized by French native speakers and Jordanian Arabic-speaking learners, as well as tests of identification for the nasal vowels produced by the learners and recognized by native listeners of French. The acoustic study of French oral vowels in isolated and consonantal context demonstrates that Jordanian learners experience difficulties in reproducing suitably the vowels /ø - œ/ which do not exist in the phonological system of Arabic and the vowel /u/ which is deformed in the production of the learners despite the fact that it has a phonological counterpart in Arabic. The results also reveal that the learners master only a single sound of the intermediate vowels /e - ɛ / and /o - ɔ/. Perceptual tests of identification indicate that Jordanian learners confuse, in pronunciation, between both nasal vowels /ɑ̃ ɔ̃/. So, it is necessary that acoustic and articulatory phonetics techniques be integrated alongside with strategies to correct the deviant realizations in the learners’ production

Resumen
Personality traits constitute an essential component of the image of politicians that spreads through the media. In the particular case of the satirical press, this image is constructed through a process of simplification, exaggeration and alteration which highlights specific traits susceptible of provoking laughter and disqualification. In this study we propose to analyse this image in terms of a post-discursive ethos, thus mediatised and twisted. In order to do that, we take as a case study 234 headlines and 405 political cartoons published by the weekly Le Canard enchaîné and referring to President Jacques Chirac (1995-2007) during four periods of great political importance
