In this article I unfold, first, the Kantian critic of platonic ideas in order to show the traditional interpretative presupposition according to which ideas in Plato are to be understood as an objective correlate of an intuition. Next, I develop in general terms the hermeneutical limits of such interpretation, showing that this does not make justice to the non-objectivist forms of knowledge introduced by Plato as the locus in which ideas are originary understood. Finally, I present the fundamentals of Wieland’s non-objectivistic interpretation of platonic ideas and their knowledge.

In Hölderlin’s thinking, Greece works as an untimely paradigm that allows him to articulate the critique of the present, rather than as a historical reference, which would elicit the elegiac lament and the nostalgia of the past. And this singular understanding of the relation between Greece and modernity, wich is at odds with the conventional model of the philosophy of history, fertilizes his search for a new ontology—one that would be able to surpass the kantian limits, following suggestions by Schiller or Fichte while, at the same time, pointing out their insufficiencies. In this respect, it is decisive to properly understand the reception of a Neoplatonic reading of Plato in the context of the philosophy of Unification.

I study in this text the reception that Hegel makes in his philosophy of the subjective spirit of the Aristotelian theory of sensation, and of sensible awareness. After establishing the relationship between the two theories, one can detect both the similarities and the differences between the treatment of perception in the two authors.

In the modern era, philosophers and scientists started to create new explanatory systems. By doing so, they were breaking ties with the past, especially with the Greek tradition. However, the case of Leibniz is different. First, he recognized the influence of the Greeks in his philosophy; and second, this influence was essential for the development of a definitive system of truths, which we have called the maxima quaestio.

In this paper I propose the recovery of the unity of being formulated in ancient thought, by the  modern thought, with the difficulties involved in such aim, particularly in the themes of the transcendence of God and human freedom. Moreover, intersubjectivity is injured in that attempt. For that reason, modern philosophy is not only subjectivist, but solipsistic

Analysis of the Greek commentaries to Aristotle’s De anima, as well as other Neoplatonic interpretations related to the sensitive consciousness and self-awareness. In particular, I focus on an examination of the interpretations of Themistius, John Philoponus, Simplicius, Esteban, Plotinus and Proclus. Brief indications about the reception of the Elements of theology of Proclus in Dietrich de Freiberg

Art, religion and philosophy, are the three moments in de final reflection of the Absolute Spirit unto itself . The question is whether they develop in such a way that each substitute the former one in a negative and deconstructive way finally presided by a critical philosophy; or whether they all rather include the intrinsic reference to the two other ones, in a dialectical mouvement in which the Spirit cannot cancel in that triple co-implication their respective diversity. The reference to what Kant calls «ideal of reason» and to the Milesian triplicity of physis, logos and arkhé, helps to clarify this Hegelian problem.

In contrast to Aristotle, Hegel devotes to friendship only a few passages along his works. In those fragments, friendship is portrayed as a type of relationship based exclusively on the feeling and the will of the individual. As a consequence, it is excluded from the ethical sphere, since it lacks an institutional structure and depends wholly upon particular opinion. Nevertheless, Hegel acknowledges that friendship represents a genuine and valuable realization of freedom, insofar as it implies a mutual recognition that allows each subject to be-with-herself-in-another.

In this research, we investigate how Schopenhauer assimilates the notion of Platonic eidos in his aesthetical discourse. By starting from his theory of representation and understanding idea as a degree of objectification of the metaphysical will, we will explain how an eidetic intuition legitimates arts (except for music). Thanks to this important Platonic concept, we will see that Schopenhauer manages to elucidate aesthetic experience and artistic work metaphysical as well as gnoseollogically.
