This article seeks to inquire about the ways in which tensions and discursive counterpoints operate in Dos veces junio (2002) and Ciencias morales (2007), by Martin Kohan. We attend to take as point of departure the struggling senses that show up in both novels related to imposed regulations and their transgressions, official discourses and marginal ones, the exhibited and the veiled, pursuing the goal of identifying and analyzing how the author configures the textual strategies that he uses in his writing to literary reinterpret the social tensions experienced during the last civic- military dictatorship in Argentina

The first stories of the Nicaraguan writer Sergio Ramírez present elements that form the main features of individual and social life during the Somoza´s dictatorship (1936 - 1979). Some of the problems that appear are power, violence, political, social and economic dependence. Their treatment is accentuated or modified between one publication and another. These texts also questioned the role of art and the intellectual within the liberation struggles led by the Sandinista National Liberation Front. I propose a series of stories included in Cuentos (1963), Nuevos Cuentos (1969) and Charles Atlas también muere (1976) in wich I review the stance on art and the intellectual in this context by the autofiguration of the author. Then, I explore some elements that shape those narrative worlds. They function as a political-social denunciation, while they imagine and claim a new nation in tune with the postulates present in the revolutionary struggles.

This paper aims to analyze the last two textbooks from Malu Urriola: Nada y Bracea, which are part of a trilogy to be constructed. For this purpose, we reviewed both theoretical and anchor text from the rhizome (Deleuze and Guattari) and the concept of differance (Derrida) to see the poetic discourse as an agent for representation of the poetic word in another, besides the Blend aesthetic notions as the perky, rebound, transience and intermediate. These anchorages and mixtures are placed in tension in this trilogy to be done and thus respond to the crossing that occur in these textbooks between poetic expression and its inanity as representing the speaking being.

The article compares the construction of the female body representations in two novels of Chilean writers who go through the 20th century: La amortajada (1938) by Maria Luisa Bombal, and Lumpérica (1983) by Diamel Eltit. The exposition is organized around a question due to the manner in which both authors explore the limits of the human and the non-human, and the way those limits are inscribed and debated with the orders around the symbolic production of a normative corporeality. The hypothesis of this work holds that the authors present a critical stance towards the development of the nation, the community, the humankind and the subjectivity, which are inscribed on the materiality of the female body.

Music plays a major role in Daniel Moyano's literary production. References and procedures coming from musical discourse are interwoven in his writing creating a complex textual space in various planes –semantic, formal, and ideological. Therefore, we consider that studying his writing allows us to contribute to the considerations about the multiple ways of sense production created in the dialog between artistic languages, in this case, between music and literature. In this paper, we do a reading of El trino del diablo* in order to show the ways in which the narrative universe of the novel takes shape by means of the incorporation of myths and conceptions about music and interpreters, influencing the construction of areas of membership and cultural and identity frames of reference. Likewise, reading taking into consideration the textualization of practices, values, and musical references is a possible way of knowing and understanding the political and social world of the 1970s in Argentina.

The present article proposes an analysis of animality, especially the metamorphosis through two classical stories: Axolotl, by Julio Cortázar and Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka. Using both stories, this piece of work pretends to show what a transformation and a myth can represent through the metamorphosis itself.

In this essay, I examine the inclusion of the civilization/barbarism binary in the literature of modernistas writers. To this end, I will briefly analyze the historic contexts after the independence of the colonies and the new neo-imperialist order that settled in the city and demanded social, economic and urban changes that affected the entire social strata. At the same time, I will explain how the formation of a new citizen was undertaken, as it had to follow certain behavioral guidelines to isolate itself from barbarism and savagery of places far away from the metropolis. With it I will justify the importance of the so-called ciudad letrada (city of letters) in the formation of new modern nations and describe the birth of the modernist writer, self-defined by its individuality and the contradictions involved in its writing. I will explain my arguments with the texts that, born in the process of modernity, claim the tradition of denying the capitalist utilitarian society into which they are inserted.
