Resumen
Graphene and silicon are two prominent lithium-ion battery anode materials that have recently received a lot of attention. In this paper we have modelled and simulated the charge transport phenomena in Graphene on Si / SiO2 and SrTiO3 substrates. The Graphene monolayer's interface with the SrTiO3 (111) surface is analyzed using ab initio density-functional measurements. Both charge and heat flows are produced in solids, at the same time when an electrochemical potential is available, bringing about novel properties. The band structure and the electron dissolution process decide the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity. It has been discovered that the interaction of Graphene with SiTiO3 accommodates electronic properties, Seebeck coefficient, and electronic conductivity. For the Graphene / SrTiO3 interface, the best values for the Seebeck coefficient were calculated. All the findings of this work suggest that the Graphene-SrTiO3 (111) and Graphene-Si structure could exhibit interesting quantum transport behavior.

Resumen
In this article three prose poems ‒“Balada de noviembre” (1911), “La leyenda de las rosas blancas” (1913) and “Del diario de Juan Silvestre” (1917)‒ by Carmen Lyra are studied. In these, a double eclecticism that (con)fuses, on the one hand, generic qualities of poetry and prose; and, on the other, aesthetic, thematic and ideological qualities of Romanticism and Modernism is analyzed. This double eclecticism aims to promote aesthetic and formal transgression that blurs the limits, in a productive way, with a view to originality and artistic beauty. A hypothesis is proposed: the (con)fusion of Romanticism and Modernism comes from the Lira costarricense (1890); and the (con)fusion of poetry and prose, from three sources: 1) “La noche oscura” (1893), by Aquileo Echeverria; 2) the same formal freedom that said literary and cultural movements promote; and 3) the eclecticism practiced by Lyra in her pedagogy. The thesis is verified based on the analysis of landscaping, sensuality and sensoriality, adjectival density, prosopopeia, subjective projection in nature, nostalgia, metaphysical contemplation, transcendence, neo-spiritualism, romantic doubt, disenchantment, pessimism, decadence, civic attitude, time, exoticism, vagueness, melancholy, formal freedom and aristocratism. Finally, two invitations are given. First, to review the ways of reading, analyzing and cataloging Lyra’s texts, to recover her texts, propose new readings and expand the official canon. Second, it is recommended to delve into other prose poems that also express this double eclecticism, in order to trace their history.

Resumen
The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the parental pin proposal that limits access to information on sexual and gender diversity for students in their educational institutions. Under the argument that these issues are the responsibility of families, a discourse is constructed that qualifies that these issues generate uncertainty in young people and can confuse them in their development. Therefore, this study with mixed methodology shows the level of awareness of a sample group of young people in middle and higher education about the importance of access to issues related to sexual and gender diversity, within their process of building their identity and personality development. Based on a mixed instrument, it is concluded that access to information is a right and a legitimate demand of young people, questioning the validity and justification of the parental pin.

Resumen
In this article it has been developed and implemented an environmental air monitoring-based method to easily quantify microbial contamination in different areas of the Laboratorio de Biotecnología, at the Occidente Campus of Universidad de Costa Rica. It determines potentially polluted zones by counting the viable fallout onto Petri dishes left open that, after incubation, give rise to microbial colony forming units (CFU). The optimized conditions for this study resulted in a Petri dish opening time of 2 h followed by an incubation period of 48 h at 37 °C. This method can be simply adapted to other teaching and research laboratories by segmenting the main working spaces into different areas (depending on the nature and activities they present) and adjusting the Petri dish opening time and incubation conditions to allow proper CFU formation. It has been found statistically significant differences among the 6 studied laboratory spaces by using 3 Petri dishes replicates per area during 5 sampling weeks of environmental monitoring rounds. The most polluted area resulted to be the washing and autoclaving area; followed by most of the laboratory working benches. The least contaminated area comprised the one destined to the preparation of reagents and use of laboratory equipment. This is the first microbial environmental monitoring protocol ever developed at the Laboratorio de Biotecnología at Occidente Campus of Universidad de Costa Rica. It will facilitate a better use, distribution, and maintenance of clean areas within the laboratory to implement more complex and specialized methodologies that demand better microbiological conditions in the near future.

Resumen
In the foothills of the Colombian central mountain range, bordering between the municipalities of Filandia (Quindío) and Pereira (Risaralda), It is located the middle basin of the Canyon of Barbas River, consisting of two large wooded areas, the Bremen-La Popa Forest Reserve and the Barbas river canyon, which, despite being surrounded by an agricultural matrix, have a high number of endemic and threatened fauna and flora species. In 2005, seeking to improve the connectivity of this landscape, the Municipal Office of Filandia, in agreement with the Alexander von Humboldt Institute, implemented a series of practices called Landscape Management Tools. From the moment of their realization, most of the researches made, has focused only on evaluating the contribution of biological corridors to connectivity, leaving aside the evaluation of the other tools, and without considering all the elements composing the landscape. During the first four-month period of 2017, a qualitative observation protocol was applied to determine the current state of four tools (biological corridors, mini-corridors, live fences and trees scattered in pasture, and through semi-structured interviews the perceptions of producers, owners and decision makers were collected about what these tools have represented in environmental and economic terms for their farms. It was found that live fences and trees scattered in pasture have disappeared, respectively, by 57% and 68%, while all of the biological corridors and mini- corridors implemented still remain. All the producers consulted highlighted the environmental benefits offered by the tools over the economic benefits. The totality of the decision makers interviewed, focused on the need to continue with a second phase of the project, through the implementation of wildlife passes, although they state that today they do not have the financial resources to execute them.
