Introduction: As the primary caregiver of her child, the mother figure has a strong influence on the child’s health, nutritional status, and formation of eating habits. Objective: To determine the nutritional status of mothers and its association with children’s food consumption. Objective: To determine the nutritional status of mothers and its association with children’s food consumption. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 163 mother-child pairs at <24 months of age attended in Family Health Units. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was used to collect sociodemographic and anthropometric variables of mothers and infants. The nutritional status of the infants was determined using the body mass index by age; the diagnosis of the nutritional status of the mothers was determined by body mass index. Infant feeding practice was evaluated using the Food Intake Markers proposed by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. Results: 51.53% of the mothers were overweight, and 30.06% of the children were overweight, according to BMI/age. In terms of children’s food consumption, there was a marked presence of ultra-processed foods. Inadequate maternal nutritional status was associated with consuming packaged snacks the day before the survey (p = 0.002). Conclusion: The maternal profile significantly influences infant food consumption; therefore, it is necessary to implement health education activities to advise families and reinforce the importance of adequately introducing complementary foods. Introduction: In Colombia, 65.51% of the care provided was for chronic non-communicable diseases. Thesegenerate some degree of disability and dependency, requiring a caregiver. Objective: Establish a businessplan proposal for the “Caring for caregivers” program, oriented to cost, economic and financial analysis.Materials and Methods: Economic evaluation study with a cost analysis of a nursing program in which foursteps were followed for data analysis: 1) Describe the cost structure of the program, 2) make projections, 3)determine the commercial value of levels offered by the program, and 4) evaluate the information obtainedin the previous steps using financial indicators to determine if the proposal makes the program economicallyviable. Results: An average annual cost of $ 6.9115 is estimated, forecasting a 5-year average annual cost of$ 8732 at the basic level and $ 7131 at the program monitoring level. The resources for the implementationof the program are $ 6.101, presenting an equity increase of $ 12.177 between 2019 and 2023. Finally, theinternal rate of return - IRR is 326.19%, this means that for every $ 1 invested in the program, they will return $326 concluding that the program from this financial point of view is profitable. Discussion: Only the "Caringfor Caregivers" program was analyzed, because there are no programs with similar characteristics in Colombia. Conclusion: "Caring for caregivers®" is a program with growth potential in Colombia, due to the social benefit it offers, and the scarce competition it presents. The financial assessment showed that it is cost-effective. How to cite this article: Pardo–Mora Yaira, Chaparro-Diaz Lorena, Carreño-Moreno Sonia. Introduction: In Colombia, postpartum hemorrhage is the second leading cause of death in pregnant women at a rate of 6.9 deaths per 1,000 live births. After childbirth, 8.2% of Latin American women are expected to have postpartum hemorrhage. Objective: To describe nursing care delivered to women with postpartum hemorrhage to reduce the risk of hypovolemic shock by means of an integrative literature review. Materials and Methods: Following the approach suggested by Sasso, de Campos and Galvão, an integrative literature review was conducted on ClinicalKey, LILACS, CINAHL, Epistemonikos, Cochrane Library, PubMed and ScieELO Google Scholar databases. Articles published in the last five years in Spanish, English and Portuguese were selected and classified by their level of evidence and degree of recommendation. This is a low-risk research due to its documentary nature. Results: 41 articles were finally selected and classified into clinical picture, nursing care and challenges in OBGYN care. Discussion: Nursing professionals should identify barriers to care by evaluating institutional problem-solving capacity and analyzing maternal death cases. Using misoprostol and oxytocin or only carbetocin and ergometrine-oxytocin is suggested based on the quantity of blood loss. Conclusions: Performing a physical examination is important to recognize signs of hemodynamic instability and hypovolemic shock. Nursing diagnoses and interventions focus on providing quality patient care to prevent certain complications such as death. Introduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis is considered one of the major public health issues in Peru, thus understanding its real condition from different points of view will allow choosing the most appropriate therapeutic approach and patient care. Objective: To determine the relationship between social support and self-care in patients in the Lima Este Hospital, Peru. Materials and Methods: A quantitative correlational cross-sectional study was conducted with 114 patients participating in the NTCP program. Non-probability purposive sampling was built with 100 patients for which inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. The MOS Social Support Survey and Self-Care Questionnaire were administered. Ethical considerations were considered for data collection. Data was processed using SPSS-24 software and later analyzed using descriptive statistics with frequencies and percentages. The chi-squared test was used for inferential analysis. Results: Sex, age, educational level and marital status had no relationship (p>0.05) with self-care in TB patients. Inappropriate self-care was found in 69.2% of patients receiving MDR-TB treatment. 100% of patients receiving drug-susceptible TB treatment showed appropriate self-care with a significant relationship (p-value of 0.000). 83.3% of patients who perceived appropriate support showed appropriate selfcare, 76.9% of patients who perceived poor support rated their self-care as inappropriate with a significant relationship (p-value of 0.000). Similar findings were found for the social support dimension with a p-value of <0.05. Conclusions: Patients were characterized as young, male and single under drug-susceptible TB treatment. A significant relationship was found between appropriate social support and appropriate selfcare. A schedule for drug-susceptible TB treatment is related to inappropriate self-care. Introduction: A sedentary lifestyle in adolescents contributes to the occurrence of different diseases, making it relevant to investigate associated factors. Objective: To analyze the association between sedentary lifestyle and socioeconomic status in adolescents from public schools. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional study, carried out with 347 adolescents enrolled in public high schools in the city of Divinópolis, Minas Gerais. Data collection took place in 2017. Sedentary lifestyle was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire and socioeconomic status using the criteria of the Brazilian Association of Research Companies. Descriptive and analytical statistics were performed using a multivariate logistic regression model. Results: 347 adolescents participated in the investigation. The mean age of the group was 16.4 ± 1.0 years. Individuals characterized as sedentary constituted 38.9% of the sample, of which 66.7% were female. Having a higher socioeconomic level decreases the probability of being sedentary (OR = 0,235; p = 0.021), just as being a student in public schools in the southwest region increases this chance (OR = 2,680; p = 0.04). Discussion: The reasons why socioeconomic conditions can influence a sedentary lifestyle are varied. The absence of public spaces can contribute to the increase in sedentary lifestyles in adolescents with lower socioeconomic status. Conclusion: This investigation highlights the importance of public investments in policies to encourage the practice of physical activity for adolescents, especially for females and lower socioeconomic status. Introduction: Given the need to restructure healthcare education institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hybrid education has been identified as an alternative to reorganize educational activities. The objective of this study is to describe hybrid education development in healthcare education. Materials and Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted based on the PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses) guideline. A peer-reviewed search was conducted across four electronic databases between July and September 2020. Descriptors used were “distance education”, “learning”, “health”, “nursing”, “medicine”, “dentistry”, “physical therapy” and “hybrid education”. Selected articles were classified based on their level of evidence. Results: 49 articles were selected, including quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods studies. Experiences in the development of hybrid education in multiple healthcare courses were found. Hybrid education has been implemented based on the rotation model, a la carte model and Flex model. Discussion: Hybrid education has been gaining more and more importance in the academic scenario of healthcare education. Based on this, students manage to stand out in their learning process as they become the main agent of this process by actively learning using multiple education tools provided by their teachers. Conclusions: Successful hybrid education can be related to its innovative, flexible, cost-effective nature and the ability to turn students into key players in their teaching-learning process, which ends up influencing their own academic performance. Introduction: In response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the World Health Organization recommended social distancing as a strategy to mitigate the impacts of the coronavirus disease. Among measures adopted to avoid crowds, universities then switched to virtual education. The objective is to reflect on the influence of social distancing during COVID-19 on the daily routine of health sciences students. Materials and methods: A systematic literature review was conducted by searching on PubMed, MEDLINE, LILACS, bioRxiv, medRxiv, as well as BVS and the World Health Organization site for COVID-19 (WHO COVID-19) databases, using combined descriptors such as “coronavirus infections and health science students” and “COVID-19 and health science students”. A total of 1069 articles were initially found, being later refined to 23 for the study. Results were classified into 1) emotional competence disorder, 2) education, 3) eating, sleep and physical activity, and 4) various kind of impacts with frequent manifestations of anxiety, depression, stress, uncertainty distress and changes in physical activity and sleep habits. Student dropout in virtual programs is about 50% in all cases. Conclusions: Knowing how social distancing influenced the daily routine of college students is important for universities to develop support programs tailored to current reality needs and implement future epidemic preparedness programs, helping reduce possible impacts. Introduction: Public health information is essential for decision-making in the public policy context, therefore considered a basic tool for phenomenon interpretation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of the Immunization Information System by nursing professionals. Materials and Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted with nursing professionals in a municipality in the Western Macro-region of Minas Gerais State by means of a validated checklist. For analysis, a scoring system was used to rate their use of the information system as appropriate, partially appropriate, not appropriate and critical. The median was used as a summary measure for descriptive analysis and Pearson’s chi-square test was used to assess comparisons. Results: Out of 104 participating nurses, 14.4% reported having used records for vaccination information management; 93.3% performed vaccine inventory management, which was the only activity classified as appropriate; preparation of reports listing missed doses (39.4%), vaccination coverage (36.5%) and dissemination of consolidated reports (17.3%) were classified as critical. No statistically significant differences were found between the variables studied. Discussion: Underutilizing information systems has consequences for vaccination services, such as low vaccination coverage and variation in dropout rates, as well as hindering planning and decision making by vaccination center managers. Conclusions: Managing data in information systems should be recognized by healthcare professionals as a necessary, functional and applicable piece of the work process performed in vaccination centers.
