Resumen
Agricultural burning and forest fires are addressed in the context of the problematic use of fire on plots of land as the main source of ignition for the fires that impact Mexico's forests. The objective of this study was to identify spatial distribution patterns of burned areas and their links to land use, emphasizing agricultural and populated areas. A spatial analysis of the burned area, its clustering and link to land use was carried out using the Global and Local Moran's Index, univariate and bivariate. In addition, the lengths of the agricultural-forest edge and the distance from the perimeter of populated areas to burned areas were obtained. The Moran's I index indicated a high positive spatial dependence between burned areas, a positive relationship with agricultural use, a random relationship with forest areas, a negative relationship with populated areas and a positive relationship with the agricultural-forest edge. From the agricultural-forestry border, 38.57% of the park's burned area is concentrated at 50 m, 81.02% at 250 m and 89.21% at 500 m. The greatest amount of burnt surface occurs at a distance of 2,500 m from the perimeter of the populated area. It was concluded that the fire is mainly concentrated on the agricultural-forestry border and there is a general trend of association of agricultural areas with the occurrence of fire.

Resumen
The study of human interactions with the natural environment forms part of the DNA of Sauerian geography. In the context of an integrated approach that links the traditional fields of physical and human geography, Carl Sauer did not recognise a rupture, but rather a continuity. Here, we explore the underlying principles of the holistic vision in Sauerian geography, emphasising the use of phenomenological and morphological approaches to landscape. To this end, we review the influence of Sauer’s ideas at the Princeton (1955) and Clark (1987) colloquiums, both of which built on the work of George P. Marsh and were milestones in the evolution of geographical thought between 1950 and the end of the last century. Our analysis is reinforced by a review of bibliographies commenting on the topics covered by the 1987 colloquium. This paper aims to draw conclusions that clarify the current geographical discussion around categories such as terrain and landscape, and the principles of Sauerian geography that still apply.

Resumen
The "Law of Urban Development of the Federal District" Gaceta Oficial del Distrito Federal, January, 26th 1996- says in its article 2 thai it is a priority to improve the population s quality of life, both in urban and rural areas. So it is necessary to avoid settlements in areas with high level of vulnerability or high risk, and in the areas ol conservancy. However, the occupancy has continued over conservancy areas, but on a lower rate than during the decades of 60's. 70's and 80's.
With this research it expects to show how and when the new illegal settlements have been place in Delegación Tlalpan. Also the fight against such occupation ol high environmental quality that the City Government and the Federal District Parliament maintain has caused confrontations with the dissatisfied people in the area, and it is importam to analyse this phenomenon in order to set up a forecast about the future of conservation areas in the City.

Resumen
Massive landslide processes (MSLPs) constitute an important natural hazard for human settlements and their productive activities, especially in mountainous areas where abrupt relief, precipitation and/or earthquakes facilitate the fall or landslide of materials. In Mexico, these areas are generally difficult to access and have scarce cartographic and geomorphological information. Such is the case of the Iztaccihuatl volcano, where DRPs commonly occur along its steep slopes and poorly consolidated deposits that are cut by deep and narrow valleys. This study aimed to map DRPs and assess susceptibility in the Xopanac river watershed located on the eastern flank of the Iztaccihuatl volcano, in the state of Puebla. For this purpose, an inventory of PRM was elaborated based on photointerpretation and field work, and susceptibility was modeled by means of multiple logistic regression (MLR). Elevation, slope angle, dissection density, vertical erosion and land use were used as conditioning factors. Validation of the resulting susceptibility map was performed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. The validation shows that the RLM model presents an area under the curve of 80.2 and has a high predictive capacity with the use of few significant variables: two topographic, two morphometric and one environmental variable, which are related to the area under the curve.

Resumen
The objective of this study is to identify and problematize the methodological process for estimating social vulnerability through indices, which is exemplified through the development of an index constructed from a hierarchical deductive strategy and a matrix calculation, the IVSD (Social Vulnerability to Disasters Index). This article presents a methodological proposal that illustrates the components and decisions involved in measuring social vulnerability, from its conceptual basis to the selection and weighting of the dimensions of interest. It even considers the cut-off strategies used to define and cartographically represent the maximum and minimum value ranges of the data set. The comparison accounts for this phenomenon on a similar geographical scale, at the national level and municipal resolution for Mexico and departmental resolution for Argentina.
The IVSD results reflect structural social vulnerability, i.e., the territorial units that present conditions of social disadvantage in both countries on a similar scale. The article explains the variations and adjustments made based on the availability of information and the scale of the work, which depends not only on the objective characteristics of social deprivation or disadvantage, but also on the sociopolitical objective of its use (for example, to show the territorial units with the highest concentration of a particular disadvantage, or to calculate the general susceptibility to disaster risk) in order to design it appropriately in terms of scale, dimensions, and weighting and representation strategies.

Resumen
This article examines and compares the securitisation of residential real estate in Brazil and Mexico, highlighting the similarities and differences, as well as the roles of institutional and spatial dimensions in this process. The analysis focuses on the development and structure of these markets in each country, emphasising the pivotal role of public institutions – Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) in Brazil and Instituto del Fondo Nacional de la Vivienda para los Trabajadores (INFONAVIT) in Mexico – in enabling and expanding securitisation. The study uses data from country-specific instruments: Brazilian Certificados de Recebíveis Imobiliários (CRIs) from 2011 to 2016, and Mexican CEDEVIS and CEDEVITOTS schemes from 2004 to 2015. Finally, the article emphasises the connection between housing policy and the financialisation of real estate in emerging economies.

Resumen
The short shelf life durian products is a problem that has led to missed opportunities for businesses in the supply chain to extend the selling period. Therefore, this research developed a Discrete-event simulation model using FlexSim software to apply the cold chain in fresh durian products in order to extend their shelf life. The focus of this simulation was on adding a pre-cooling process that could extend the shelf life of fresh durians by approximately 7 days or 35.80% of the product's life. However, it resulted in an increased operational cost of 9700.6 baht or 3.43% of the total operating cost. Additionally, the study experimented with increasing the number of durian orchards in the supply chain to test potential future scenarios. The consistent results of the study indicated that the shelf life of fresh durians could be extended by approximately 7 days or about 35.87% of the product's life, but with an increased operational cost of 10,446.8 baht or 3.58% of the total operating cost. Therefore, members of the fresh durian supply chain should consider implementing the cold chain to enhance opportunities for selling fresh durians for a longer period.
