Resumen
Currently, cities grow through dispersion and concentration processes, representing different problems associated with achieving urban sustainability goals. One of these aspects is the availability of incorporating renewable energy systems in other urban sectors, which is different for each case study. Indeed, any city pursuing sustainable development objectives must have methodologies to evaluate the relationship between its urban morphologies and sunlight. However, cities in developing countries do not have the economic and/or technical availability to access high-resolution methodologies such as LiDAR or large urban computer models for solar simulation or access to Google Project SunRoof. This work develops a low-cost methodology for constructing explanatory/predictive models oriented to identifying intra-urban solar potential in intermediate cities of developing countries. For this purpose, a representative sample of urban blocks is selected, and the incident solar radiation on their surfaces is simulated with DesignBuilder. For each one, we calculate several sunshine indicators and associate them with census variables that characterize their urban morphology. Subsequently, statistical models are built to describe two indicators (kWh/year*dwelling y kWh/year*m2) from census variables, which are available for all the census units that conform the city. The built models have an R2 of 0.87 and 0.70, respectively, and for each of them, two key products are obtained: a map of intra-urban solar potential; and a mathematical expression to calculate the future solar potential of a given urban sector.

Resumen
Museums are urban shelters, meeting places, and reflection centers. They are not only engines of urban transformation but also places of integration and generation of identities constructed from a relational sense and historical significance. However, it must be kept in mind that museums only become a place if there is a relationship, a link of meaning and significance with their visitors. It must be considered that the percentage of the population in Chile that attends museums is meager. This situation is further aggravated in contemporary art museums by the very definition of this art that questions and puts strain on visitors. Thus, the objective is to analyze the connectivity, legibility, and accessibility to establish the relationship in the public space of the two locations of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Parque Forestal and Quinta Normal. These factors will be reviewed from four dimensions historical, urban, architectural, and sociocultural, which intersect and make it possible to study the approach of the visitor and the city with the museums. As a result, relevant characteristics are obtained from the analyzed factors. They are feasible to consider when analyzing, projecting, remodeling, or enhancing architectural works that shelter contemporary art in its link with visitors and public space.

Resumen
Colombia, a biologically and culturally diverse country, signed a Peace Agreement in 2016, a socio-political event that impacts urban planning from a holistic perspective, emphasizing the study of public spaces as critical elements of social and environmental interaction. In Tunja (city of study), beyond the process of numbering urban parks and their area, there is no research or administrative support to guide decision-making regarding the planning of these spaces for the community's welfare, involving the concept of sustainability and its impact on the post-conflict. This article aims to diagnose the state of the urban parks of Tunja under the systemic approach of sustainability in urban thinking, analyzing the role they play as an essential part of public space to generate instruments of cohesion, memory, and repair within the dynamics of post-conflict as a multidimensional phenomenon. The exploratory methodology focused on field data collection, classification, and analysis of environmental, social, and economic variables, seeking relationships between their diagnosis and the topic of interest, the post-conflict. Consequently, a deficit in green area per capita (2,1 m2/inhabitant), vegetation, equipment, and poor social perception was evidenced; factors that act as limiting factors in the use, access, and identity of public space, thus concluding that the urban parks in Tunja are not acting as spaces that from a sustainability perspective can contribute to the process of reparation and social incorporation of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.

Resumen
Walking is the most sustainable and appropriate mode of travel in post-pandemic times, especially in medium-sized cities. However, pedestrian mobility has been significantly reduced during the last decades in Temuco, Chile. In this regard, the study aims to examine the contribution of sociodemographic factors, active family environment, population density and residential density in the observed decline. The aforementioned factors are examined in terms of the purpose that motivates walking trips; an aspect that has been highlighted by previous studies that have addressed the subject. The study used the results of the Origin Destination Survey (EOD 2013), in Temuco, relating data to its location through a Geographic Information System (GIS). The analysis of the variables resulted in the correlation between greater pedestrian mobility and low-income families. Associations were found between greater pedestrian mobility and sociodemographic factors, such as age, gender, availability of a driver's license and possession of vehicles in the household, among others. In addition, associations were also found with an active family environment and residential density. These findings can contribute to the current discussion on urban policy, especially by identifying the combination of factors that have a greater impact on an increase in walking as a form of travel in the city.

Resumen
The growth of the Metropolitan Area of Mendoza towards the hillside sector has deteriorated its environmental quality, negatively impacting the city's sustainable development. This research aims to propose and evaluate urbanization schemes that improve energy efficiency and respond to the environmental conditions of the piedmont. To this end, twelve urbanization schemes that incorporate sustainable design criteria were proposed and simulated using ENVI-met. They are the result of the analysis of design variables that determine the thermal response of the current developments in the hillsides and of the planning and regulation guidelines followed internationally. The results show that all the proposals improve the thermal and environmental condition of the existing developments, the magnitude of the impact being greater on land with slopes less than 15%. They represent 70% of the land for development, highlighting the potential impact of the application of the proposals analyzed.

Resumen
Among the spatial devices for collective housing complexes designed by the Urban Improvement Corporation (CORMU) during the 1970s in Chile are the pedways to connect buildings and support the community experience. In most cases, this network has deteriorated, abandoned by the population that fears being a victim of crime in those places. Urban design theory has paid little attention to the relationship between spatial design and the perception of insecurity. Consequently, this study aims to determine how physical and spatial factors affect the perception of urban spaces as potentially unsafe. The qualitative methodology applied to the case study of the housing complex of “Parque Inés de Suárez” (Santiago 1971) is based on principles of the Situational Prevention Theory (CPTED); it considers the mapping of pedestrian routes, visual records, and interviews. The research suggests that the possibility of the occurrence of crimes depends on the degree of permeability of the spatial configuration and the absence of natural surveillance. The findings show that spatial configuration devices act as obstructions to movement and visual control, violating the cardinal principle of natural surveillance of the environment. According to this, the results suggest the need to update the practice of spatial design, integrating security as a constitutive factor of a healthy residential space.

Resumen
Violence is intersectional to race, sexual identity, sex, age, education, and socioeconomic status, and is representative of the male gender. This violence directly affects people identified as female, to a lesser extent, to people of other sexual/gender orientations and identities, and in greater proportion, to people identified as male. The objective of this research is to select, through discursive analysis, ideas that account for masculinity as a risk factor to modern society. Furthermore, a content analysis through surveys and reports, from institutions such as Centro de Estudios and Análisis del Delito (2020), and the Informe Anual de Derechos Humanos de la Diversidad Sexual y de Género en Chile, Hechos 2018 of Movimiento de Integración y Liberación Homosexual (Movilh, 2018) has been added. Male violence as a risk factor has been analyzed to propose the inclusion of prevention of violence in education.

Resumen
Carmen de Burgos’ narrative presents several traveling female protagonists. Previous studies have shown the contradictory views of the female characters in the author's narrative, divided between modernity and tradition. In the two novels to be analyzed, the contact with other cultures –in this case, mexican and cuban– represents an opportunity for the two protagonists to question their condition. The author uses the element of travel to explore the relationship between these women and modernity.
