Universal accessibility is about the condition that spaces, processes, goods, products and services, as well as objects or instruments, tools and devices, must meet in order to be understandable and usable by all people; while inclusive design seeks to simplify life for everyone in the most autonomous and natural way possible. The objective of this article is to expose the methodology of inclusive design SPA (Feel, Think, Act) according to its acronym in Spanish, based on students experiencing the conditions of disability and the social environment where they live, and generate multidisciplinary proposals towards the evolution of an inclusive society. From this didactic experience it was possible to promote knowledge about the culture of disability, to develop in the student the sensitivity for the detection of adverse situations and, consequently, the generation of integral solutions, specifically in public spaces and heritage buildings.

Architecture and the city have a reason for being with those who inhabit them, but this relationship is not always conscious, because expressive values are identified before their history, even after a conservation and refunctionalization process. Bringing heritage closer to population through architecture and the city is the objective of the annual Open House events, which various cities host with citizen participation acting as guides or visitors, allowing a dynamic cultural appropriation of the space and its surroundings. Assessing the experiences of Open House participants, in Barcelona and Madrid, allowed to conclude that every city, whatever its importance, deserves to show its history, compiled, narrated, (re)interpreted with the proactive participation of its inhabitants, administrations, trade organizations, schools of architecture and other related disciplines. Thus, without great resources, Architecture, the city, and its heritage will occupy a relevant place in the cultural imaginary of society.

During the 1940s and 1950s, Havana experienced a growth in its urban sprawl that led to the conurbation of its old municipalities. With the purpose of obtaining a better understanding of the growth process of the city, this study deals with the urban expansion of the former Municipal District of Guanabacoa in the period 1948-1959, a territory located to the southeast of the city and, according to its population, third in importance of the capital. Through documentary and historical-logical analysis methods, supported by field and archive work, the research aimed to identify, classify and characterize the residential subdivisions of the central-south zone of the Municipal District of Guanabacoa. It is concluded that this urban growth was due to a new and extensive infrastructure system that enhanced the land for industrial and residential expansion on that sector of the city.

A study of the dome of the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles is presented, one of the most important historical buildings in Mexico City, which collapsed after an earthquake in 2017. The consolidation works of the temple carried out to date are examined, based on a historical analysis of the property, and the main damages that have affected the factory in different construction stages are defined. It is shown that the damages and the current state of the structure, including the collapse of the dome, are not only the product of the accumulated effects and the response to past earthquakes, but also of the sum of damages to the structure during its period. of life. The work proposes criteria to continue the next stages of preservation of the sanctuary, and considers the participation of the State and the population as elements to be taken into account.

This article deals with how sustainability has impacted the teaching of architecture, from the development of curricula, through a series of good teaching practices, as well as directing the social action strategies of the Campus. These strategies are exemplified with the case of two university extension projects in two chapels in the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The joint work of teachers and students, as well as the close work with the communities, fosters academic exercises that consider the resources, technology, and local knowledge of the inhabitants, which has the objective of promoting empathic and critical reflection on the student’s future professional practice, as well as promoting the self-management capacity of the communities where the intervention takes place.

This reflection is an exploratory study that makes a brief approach from feminist theory and methodology to the intellectual and empirical work of women landscape architects who preceded us, many who are not among us, others who are still active and do not usually figure in the history and theory of the discipline. From the genealogy, inspiring landscape architects who marked the profession are recognized, from a journey that recognizes the precursors in different geographical contexts until reaching Latin America and especially Mexico. In the latter, in addition to the gender issue, the class condition marks the guidelines of the lack of recognition of landscape architects in the spaces of political and academic representation, marked by the capitalist patriarchal structure that perpetuates in the disciplines of design.

This article explores the concept of vernacular architecture, its prehistoric origins and presents some examples in the world that continue to be used and constitute lessons in sustainability and bioclimatic design. Vernacular architecture, despite being commonly undervalued and associated with poverty, is currently being revalued as an ethical and sustainable architecture in the face of the growing threat of climate change. This architecture is not necessarily an architecture "without architects", but the result of an accumulation of constructive design decisions of many anonymous actors who contributed to the creation of very localized and contextual architectural models and typologies, tested over time. However, despite its resilience, it is constantly threatened by the loss of ancestral knowledge about traditional constructions or the lack of technical support in its maintenance, situations that cause the values associated with vernacular architecture to be lost as well.
