Resumen
The main objective of this work is to analyze the processes of retextualization that shows an epistolary corpus composed of several versions of the same letter from its first textualization, carried out in the fourteenth century from the precepts of the ars dictaminis, until the seventeenth century, where it occupies a noted position in historiography. We focus on examining the linguistic variation related to the processes of linguistic elaboration oriented to the pole of communicative distance: the letters show the development of the conception of the epistolary genre from dialogue, with features of communicative orality, to authorial soliloquy of grandiloquent language and high degree of planification. Therefore, we also study how the morphology of the letter adapts to these new interests, theoretically related in this article to the processes of linguistic refection.

Resumen
In this work we will study the elaboration processes linked to the discursive and textual construction presented by the letters composed by Fernando de Abarca Bolea y Galloz to the kings of Aragon, Castile and Portugal, as well as to the lawyers of Spain, after the death of Carlos de Viana in 1461. Specifically, we will analyse the parts of these letters according to the rhetorical guidelines of the time, as well as some features of the elaborate language that would have different fates in the subsequent evolution of epistolary writing. In order to better contextualize these traits, we will compare them with those testified in other 15thcentury letters and epistles, in order to establish how they are determined by the discursive traditionality. In the conclusions, we consider that the Cartas are a first confirmation that the 15th-century letters, written by members of the court, help determine which features will have greater development in the conformation of the elaborate language, and which will be discarded subsequently.

Resumen
As a contribution to the historical phraseology of Spanish, this article proposes a model of analysis and classification of the wisdom forms of the sixteenth century from the point of view of the relationship between orality and writing, on the basis of examination of the Libro de refranes compiled by Pedro Vallés (Zaragoza, 1549). On the one hand, attention is focused on the metrical and rhythmic factors in the composition of repeated speech forms. On the other hand, the punctuation marks and the graphic sequencing are analyzed from a graphematic perspective. The results of the analysis allow us to postulate that the punctuation of the print is from the paremiographer Pedro Vallés and not the result of the editorial work of a printer.

Resumen
The aim of this work has been the rhetorical analysis of the letter XXXI of Hernando del Pulgar to the cardinal of Spain (Pedro González de Mendoza), in order to guess its actual meaning. The research and its methodology have been submitted to the concept of irony, in a double sense: as a semantic element of the «elaborated writing» and as a political tool (if the text must be conceived as an epistle written to be published). Briefly, among the Pulgar’s letters, this one is a political item, a sarcastic reply within a public conversation about the ideology against conversos in 15th century Spain. The article consists of the introduction, a presentation of the epistle, a brief reference to its historical context, the stylistic study, an argumentation regarding to the author’s intention and a conclusion.

Resumen
This paper sets out to analyse the linguistic resources used by Valera in his letters with the specific purpose of persuading the recipient of the usefulness of his advice or promoting his ideas on ethical or moral issues. The study focuses on three important aspects from a pragmatic perspective: the features of formal language variety, which project an image of Valera as a cultivated courtier; the internal coherence of the discourse (adaptation to the epistolary genre moulds and use of discursive connection resources); and, finally, the linguistic mitigation strategies, aimed at protecting his own image and that of the recipient. In a political landscape as complex as that of the 15th century, Valera’s skills in managing these resources enhance his image as a skilled advisor and reinforces the persuasive message of his letters.

Coseriu’s influence on semantic studies can be described as enormous, with relevant contributions to many problems, not only traditional ones, but also others that have been developed based on his assumptions and that, in some cases, have led to the consolidation of new perspectives of semantic analysis or disciplines within the framework of modern linguistics, such as word formation, linguistic variationism, syntagmatic dimension of the lexicon (lexicon-syntax interface), text linguistics as semantics of speech and sense, phraseology or terminology. In this contribution, we undertake the examination of the epistemological bases of Coserian lexematics, as a restrictive discipline of structural semantics and lexicology, and the establishment of its subsequent evolution and repercussion, in order to observe what remains of it in the current lexical semantics.

This paper analyses the tragedy El Philoctetes, adaptation of the Sophoclean play by the Jesuit José Arnal (1729-1790), teacher, translator of classical authors and poet. This tragedy is classed in some places as translation; however, it was an adaptation that was made of the Greek drama to be represented by students of classical languages in Zaragoza at the beginning of the decade of 1760; it was published in Zaragoza in 1764, before the expulsion of the Society of Jesus, and doubly reissued, years later, in Barcelona.

In this paper we present two poetic manuscripts related to Jovellanos and recently located in the Fermín Canella collection of the Tolivar Alas Archive (“Ramón Pérez de Ayala” Public Library, Oviedo). These are two copies of the late 19th/early 20th century owned by the scholar Fermín Canella, both of great relevance. The first one is a lost copy – but of which there was indirect information – of Jovellanos’s Satire III, relevant because it allows us to conclude without a shadow of a doubt that several errors have been introduced in the text until now considered good and edited in the Complete Works of Jovellanos prepared by José Miguel Caso González. The second one gives as a work by Jovellanos a poem never before attributed to him. However, an examination of the text, its textual tradition, and the circumstances of its composition allows us to discard Jovellanos’s authorship. In sum, we establish how Jovellanos’s Satire III should be edited from now on and discard the composition “[Six virtues alone are...]” from his corpus.
