Cerca del 95% de las viviendas en México no cuentan con un seguro contra terremoto según la Asociación Mexicana de Instituciones de Seguros (AMIS). Esto a pesar de que gran parte del territorio nacional está expuesto a riesgos sísmicos. Los objetivos de esta investigación son realizar un análisis microeconómico del comportamiento del seguro contra estos fenómenos naturales y una modelación estocástica mediante cadenas de Markov de la actividad sísmica en el país, para evidenciar los riesgos de estos sucesos, así como sus implicaciones económicas. En futuras investigaciones se considera hacer un análisis regionalizado y considerando otros ramos.

Siguiendo la teoría del crecimiento endógeno, este documento estudia, empleando series de tiempo, el efecto de las tasas de crecimiento de capital TIC y empleo calificado sobre el valor agregado para la economía mexicana entre 1990-2019. Los resultados demuestran una relación positiva y significativa entre la incorporación de capital de alta tecnología y trabajadores con mayor nivel educativo en los procesos productivos. Se concluye que, el grado de cualificación del trabajo aumenta la eficiencia en el uso de nuevas tecnologías y tiene un mayor efecto en el crecimiento del PIB; además, se encuentra que la combinación de empleo calificado y TIC crea sinergias que posibilitan la innovación.

En este artículo se efectúa una revisión crítica del modelo IS-LM. Previamente a tal hecho, se examinan los antecedentes, características generales y expresión lógica-formal del modelo básico. Con el apoyo de dicha expresión y algunos diagramas se demuestra que el modelo contiene limitaciones que le restan validez como instrumento de análisis. Entre ellas se encuentran: 1) la distinta dimensión de las variables cuyo equilibrio conforman las curvas IS, por una parte, y LM por otra; 2) la confusión acerca de los efectos que pueden tener las perturbaciones reales y las nominales sobre la descomposición del producto nominal entre precios y producto real; 3) la incompatibilidad de su análisis con los postulados de racionalidad, y 4) la imposibilidad lógica de derivar del esquema IS-LM la curva de Demanda Agregada cuando los precios son flexibles.

This paper analyzes the emergence of biotechnology-related industries in Mexico. It is assumed that there are three important features for studying this process: (1) biotechnology cannot be understood as a single sector or industry; (2) new biotechnology firms have emerged from the very beginning of the biotechnology revolution, suggesting thus that the creation of high-level scientific capabilities is crucial to develop biotechnology-related firms; and (3) substantial part of the biotechnology research is actually carried out by public laboratories and universities. The paper concludes discussing on the importance of public funding for developing a competitive biotechnology-related firms sector.

Assessment is a key aspect of the teaching and learning process. Teachers at the university face the challenge of identifying the best strategies to carry out this process effectively in remote teaching. In the same way, that students develop reflective thinking is an opportunity for their learning because it allows them to solve problems, hypothesize, propose alternatives and self-regulate their activities to achieve learning goals. The purpose of this study was to apply self-assessment as a strategy to promote reflective thinking and to identify the degree to which postgraduate students exercise this type of thinking by performing a challenging cognitive activity in the collection, selection and analysis of background information for the bibliographical balance of the research project. The research was qualitative in the framework of the interpretive paradigm, with a phenomenological design. The study was developed in a subject of the research area of ​​Master's studies taught at a public university. The information recorded in the rubrics was collected and the level of reflective thinking was analyzed based on Van Manen's approach, cited by Romero (2007), who defines three levels: technical rationality, practical rationality and critical rationality. Among the main findings, it was found that the predominant levels of the student's reflective capacity are located between technical rationality and practical rationality. In the case of the third level (critical rationality), the students did not reach such a degree of reflection, which is why it is an aspect of improvement within the reflective thinking necessary for the Master's degree to which they aspire.

This study had as aims to evaluate the effect of the assertive skills program for social interaction in a sample of patients with anorexia nervosa (AN) or bulimia nervosa (BN) who attended a specialized clinic in Lima. For these purposes, the research was carried out with a design of pre and posttest, in a group of 49 patients diagnosed with eating disorder, AN and BN symptoms, divided into experimental group (n = 24) and control group (n = 25). The Gismero´s Social Skills Scale (EHS), was used as an instrument to measure the dependent variable. After the intervention, the results shown statistically significant differences (p <.05 and p <.01) between the groups in general assertive skills, as well as in their different factors, except for the Factor I (self-expression in social situations) and the Factor V (making requests). It is concluded in the effectiveness of this program to increase certain assertive skills in this population.

This study had the purpose of determining the effect of the training in the organizational model called Anthropological Model or Octagon Model on the entrepreneurial attitude in microentrepreneurs. For this, 30 microentrepreneurs participated. They were located in East Lima, an area where migrants from the interior of the country have been established and who have developed economic activities since the creation of microenterprises. The training comprised the three dimensions of the model. The entrepreneurial attitude was measured with the Inventory of Creativity and Entrepreneurship. The dimensions of the atitude were Creativity and Initiative, Perseverance, Propensity to Risk, Leadership and Independence and Autonomy. The design was quasi-experimental of time series with repeated measures. The results shown a significant increase in the entrepreneurial attitude of microentrepreneurs, with  a remarkable growth in the dimensions of attitude considered.

Given the current emergency situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is essential to address new strategies to carry out university teaching. In this university experience, on teaching practice in different universities, we aim to disseminate and apply university tutoring as a fundamental tool to face current challenges. The authors have coined the term iTutoría Universitaria (University iTutoring) as a proposal of excellence, in terms of the accompaniment of students and the emotional support that it carries implicitly. Preliminary results reflect that further work and research is needed in order to make interventions more tailored to the needs of each university context.

This is a technological study of an instrumental type, whose objective was to obtain initial evidences of validity of a new version of the Inventory of Coping Responses to Stress, originally developed by Arévalo in 2008. First, the redefinition of the evaluated dimensions was carried out, as well as the reformulation and reduction of the quantity of items. Content validty was established through assessment by experts. The following stages of this work were carried out on university students from the city of Chiclayo (Peru), aged 18 to 25 years. Lingüístic adaptation was assessed in a first group of 20 students. The analysis of the internal structure and reliability was carried out in 200 university students and normalization in 800 students. Aiken's V coefficient values ​​were greater than .80 for each of the items; likewise, in the item-test analysis, correlations above 0.67 were obtained. The exploratory factor analysis using principal components and varimax rotation established three factors, the loads of the items in these factors were, for direct coping, between 0.679 and 0.770; in maladaptive coping, between .662 and .867 and in defensive coping, between 0.614 and 0.790. Reliability through the split-half method and Cronbach's alpha, reported values ​​above 0.80 in each of the factors. These results indicate adequate psychometric properties. Finally, we elaborated normative data for the whole sample, because no significant differences were found between the scores of men and women.
