In this article I want to show what Friedrich Kittler (1999) has called a priori technological influence the conceptualization of music that is occurring in the Andes so far in the 21st century. To do that I will refer to two different, but convergent experiences due to their role as media: the recordings of the songs of Luis Ayvar, in which I participated as an ethnomusicologist and musician, and in field recordings made with the team of Yaku Taki in Cajamarca. I want to show that the technological a priori largely determines our way of thinking music, influencing directly both the ethnomusicologists practices and the musicians.(Complete article in spanish language).

Mexican Sonideros are sound systems that organize popular dances in the poor neighborhoods of Mexico City. They also operate in other Mexican cities and parts of the USA, where many Mexican immigrants live and work. In some aspects, they are very similar to other Latin-American sound systems such as Brazilian Tecnobrega and Funk Carioca, and Colombian Picoteros. However, Mexican Sonideros have some features that make them quite unique. One of the most unique elements is the new bodily practice introduced by dancers. The common gender markers of this kind of music disappears and new corporalities emerge in the bosom of gay and transvestite community. On these sonic and artistic particularities reflects the article.

The present study is intended to show the relations that music and sound provide to two different audio-visual fragments, yet following a similar audiovisual narrative. The first scene belongs to the chapter “Be right Back”, from the British TV show Black Mirror, written by Charlie Brooker, while the second is taken from the movie Her, the American director Spike Jonze. Both media show scenes where different artificial intelligence devices are initiated. Through spectral analysis, we deepen on how sound and music combined contribute to the cultural imaginary in establishing relations in sci-fi media where artificial intelligence is the common topic.(Complete article in spanish language).

This article analyzes the phenomenon of noise based on the figure of the resounding intruder, which means a strange sound that invades and modifies our private space. Through the concept of “acoustic intimacy” we will examine three fields of the private life which require sound immunity that is being safe from noise: rest, decency and block out. Based on testimonies of Mexico City inhabitants, taken orally and from internet forums, we will discuss several ways in which the noise disrupts the private life values.(Complete article in spanish language).

Ricardo Musso is known simply as Riki, he is 51 years old and for almost 30 he joined the Cuarteto de Nos, a band that he founded along with his brother Roberto and his classmate Santiago Tavella. About seven years ago Musso "opened" in search of making music that does not depend on the lyrics. Today, with five awards at the Graffiti Awards for his album Formidable! (2014), who hung up for free on the Internet and reached about 7,000 downloads, laughs at having "more prizes than public".(Complete article in spanish language).

Reception studies have traditionally focused on the scope and influence of the media on individuals and groups, using different approaches and methodologies. This article discusses the advantages, limitations and possibilities that the biographical method provides not only in research on reception (understood in a classical sense) but also in the new forms of virtual participation. These forms of communication in virtual environments bring new questions on how individuals and groups behave, think or act. Thus, it is very important to use complementary tools that allow us to delve into the psycho-social processes that occur in the communication field.(Complete article in spanish language).

This piece highlights the importance of communicating the mediation service as a nonadversarial method of dispute resolution. To report these issues to society supposes to disclose the existence of non-violent means of resolving disputes and making them available to the community. This information is relevant and contributes to social peace. There are di(erent agents that may communicate such peaceful approach to conflict.Among them, I first mention state agencies responsible for the promotion of public policies concerning various tools that allow the solving of legal and social conflicts; second, the curricular space offered by the university and its links with society at large, through scientific or legal practice dissemination; and finally, community mediators, who hold a key role in the promotion of favorable changes that facilitate building peaceful approaches between conflicting social forces.(Complete article in spanish language).

If only it were to record the appearance of Number Zero, it would suffice with a couple of paragraphs to review this novel, even if we were before an irrelevant work of Umberto Eco. But this novel has promised us "the manual of communication of our time", phrase of Roberto Saviano that the publisher made his own. In principle, we will not disguise the operation or ratify the misunderstanding that places it in the field of communication.(Complete article in spanish language).

In considering the corpus of 37 letters sent by Juan Carlos Onetti to the Argentine critic and art historian Julio E. Payró between 1937 and 1955, I set to analyze a number of topics and questions that become highly relevant for Onetti’s poetics. It becomes essential here to consider Onetti’s reception of the concept of realismo mágico (magical realism), which is connected -as shown in the 1937’ letters- with the analysis performed by the German art historian Franz Roh. This article will take the development of the category of realismo mágico in two ways. First, in placing it within Latin American Literature, as something different from the topics of traditional realism. Second, as constituting a resolutive di+erentiation that belongs to Onetti’s solipsistic Realism. keywords: Juan Carlos Onetti, magical realism, Franz Roh, solipsistic Realism, Latin American Literature, avant-garde literature and art.(Complete article in spanish language).
