Resumen
This work aims to examine the historiographical work La invención de América, by Edmundo O’Gorman. The prologue will be read, at first, following one of the lines that, for deconstruction, was proposed by Jacques Derrida; this implies reading “from within the text” in order to locate metaphysical features at work in the narrative structure. A deconstructive intervention will propose the sintagm “uninvention”, since it others a new way of reflecting on the concept “America” in the current context-without, at the same time, completely abandoning the concepts of “discovery” and “invention”. At a second moment, the notion of “device” (“dispositivo”) –taken from the work of psychoanalist Néstor Braunstein– will be considered, paying attention to its participation in the writing of history within La invención de América; "nally, the role of the historian –as well as its consequences– will be located in the device.(Complete article in spanish language).

Resumen
We present a comparative analysis of the process of political and institutional construction of Argentina and Uruguay during the beginning and middle years of the 20th century. This process shows, on the one hand, the creation of contemporary Uruguay on the basis of principles of Republicanism and a secular orientation that goes beyond the separation of church and the State. On the other hand, we discuss the contrasting orientation that created present day institutional conditions in Argentina.(Complete article in spanish language).

Resumen
I intend to focus here on the issue of social and cultural pain from four different perspectives of analysis. First, I will refer to the dualism between the material and the spiritual, in order to understand some ontological aspects that derive from such opposition. On a second moment, I will discuss pain in some of its cultural dimensions. The third perspective will consider pain as something that is caracteristically humane. Finally, I will discuss pain and its relation with the Other.(Complete article in spanish language).

Resumen
My assumption is that the chasm between inner and outer self is rendered acute in Proust’s notations about domestic and public existence in the modern age, featuring noise as the main intrusive “benefit.” Therefore, two main questions inform this essay: first, what is the relationship between modernization and writerly aesthetic perception? Second, how can this communicative relationship be conceptualized?

Resumen
The specific function that the humanities could have of the university should be what I call riskful thinking. Now what do I mean by riskful thinking? I mean in the first case, very much inspired by Wilhelm von Humboldt, that riskful thinking is the thinking that produces questions instead of answers. Riskful thinking is a thinking that makes the world look more complicated and less solution-oriented. Riskful thinking is a thinking that produces alternative world views instead of catering to existing world views. Instead of reducing, riskful thinking tends to increase the complexity of the world by creating new problems.(Complete article in spanish language).

Resumen
For those who do not know the intellectual journey of Robert Darnton, suffice it to say that he is one of the most recognized specialists in cultural history of the eighteenth century in France. As if this were not enough, he has specialized, simultaneously, in a sort of historical sub-discipline, something like "a history of publishing and the book", of which he is a pioneer and in which he has established himself as the most known specialist. In this book Darnton reaffirms some of the features of the immense eighteenth-century clandestine literature and discusses and analyzes the enormous quantities of literature prohibited in France at the end of the Old Regime.(Complete article in spanish language).

Resumen
This text was originally written for the catalog that accompanied Álvarez Frugoni's paintings exhibitions at the Florida Cultural Center in August (2014). Given that the catalogs of the exhibitions do not usually have an extensive diffusion, while the paintings of this uruguayan painter, which are scarcely known, deserve to be presented to a wider audience and with broad critical and perceptive values, we have decided to give life parallel to this text and publish it in InMediations of the Communication.

Resumen
We evaluated the acute and chronic toxic effect in vitro of a commercial brand of ammonium salt of gliphosate over five species that occupy different trophic levels and physical environments: bacterioplankton (Vibrio fischeri), phytoplankton (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata), zooplankton (Daphnia magna), zoobenthos (Hydra attenuata) and terrestrial (Lactuca sativa). This investigation assesed the commercial preparation of herbicide Try Glif, based on ammonium salt of glyphosate with a concentration of 430gr/L by weight of glyphosate, and inert compounds (dispersants, emulsifiers, solubilizers, etc.) with a potential toxicity is generally synergistic with the active principle. Among the five species tested the most sensitive to the compound was H. attenuata, with an LC50 of 5,79 mg/L. The luminescent bacterium V. fischeri was from the five bioassays that a median effective concentration scored higher, reaching 37,28 mg / L. The unicellular alga P. subcapitata had an LC50 of 24,58 mg/L. The D. magna and L. sativa had similar values of LC50 of 9,59 mg/L and 9,79mg/L respectively. Quantified effects on different species analyzed provide a baseline for further investigations and were compared to those found in similar experiments in the international literature
