Resumen
Multivariate probabilistic analysis of seismic hazard allows estimating the exceedance rate of vector-valued intensity measures of ground motion considering their joint probability distribution. Such an analysis is used for probabilistic seismic demand analysis of structures whose response is correlated with a set of intensity measures. In such cases, it is convenient to compute the exceedance rate of the response employing the exceedance rate of vector-valued intensity measures, in contrast to a univariate approach where the exceedance rates of a set of scalar intensity measures are calculated separately without accounting for their statistical dependence. In this work, a multivariate formulation is advanced for probabilistic seismic hazard analysis of vector-valued intensity measures using copulas. The formulation is generic considering that the exceedance rate is expressed in terms of the copula of a vector-valued intensity measure, without assuming a type of parametric model for its multivariate probability distribution. The proposed formulation is used in an example to assess the mean exceedance rate of the maximum interstory drift of a 20 story steel building employing a regression model in terms of the spectral accelerations for the first two structural periods. The copula model of the vector of spectral accelerations was estimated using ground motion records from stations on stratified sand and silt deposits in Mexico City. This type of seismic ground motion produces a significant contribution of the response associated with the second mode of the structure. The exceedance rates obtained from the multivariate formulation were significantly less than those from a univariate analysis using the spectral acceleration at the fundamental period of the structure as scalar intensity measure.

Resumen
Records of ambient and forced vibration are analyzed to determine the dynamic properties (modal forms and characteristic frequencies) of an experimental five-story full-scale reinforced masonry building in the Charles Lee Powell Laboratory at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). It was the first full-scale building, built in 1992, for earthquake resistance testing in the United States of America. Vibration records were obtained during the three stages of the building: newly constructed, damaged under simulated seismic load, and repaired. The analysis of both, ambient and forced vibrations, are revealing changes in their dynamic properties due to the loose of rigidity in the damaged building, and the recovery of the rigidity in the repaired building.

Resumen
This paper presents a simple method for designing structures equipped with non-linear viscous dampers. Maximum displacements of a structure are estimated using an equivalent Single-Degree-of-Freedom (SDOF) model and two displacement coefficients. The first coefficient relates the maximum displacement of a Multiple-Degree-of-Freedom (MDOF) model equipped with linear viscous dampers to that from an equivalent SDOF model. The second coefficient relates the maximum displacement of a MDOF model with non-linear viscous dampers to that from the same model equipped with linear viscous dampers. Simple equations are proposed to obtain both coefficients for various damper velocity exponents. An application example of the proposed method, consisting of a twelve-story model equipped with non-linear viscous dampers, is provided. The proposed method is validated through nonlinear dynamic analysis using several seismic ground motions. The results are discussed and conclusions are offered.

Resumen
The article characterizes the news treatment of the candidates’ image of the 2019 presidential election in Argentina, based on analyzing: the contenders mentioned in the news coverage, the particular characteristics highlighted, the associated evaluative elements and the treatment assigned to each electoral force. The study recovers, as a theoretical foundation, the contributions of the agenda setting theory and, as a research technique, the content analysis on a sample of 275 journalistic articles of the universe collected corresponding to the three most read digital portals in Argentina: Infobae, Clarín and La Nación. In the results, it is stated that the informative treatment focuses its attention on the agenda of activities of the presidential candidates. Regarding the assigned attributes, greater characterizations are presented around ideology and management qualification than those referred to ethical behavior or personality aspects, although they are presented with dissimilar valuations among the candidates. Consequently, an unequal presence of candidates from different political forces is recognized, which reinforces an unequal tendency towards polarization and presidential coverage.

Resumen
This article makes a bibliographical approach about the ethical challenges posed by the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of journalistic newsrooms. For this purpose, the report on news automation by the World Association of News Publishers –which represents more than 120 countries and is known as WAN-IFRA– and the guide linked to algorithmic data processing in newsrooms published by the news agency The Associated Press (AP), whose particularity lies in the assistance for the writing of various AI, in addition to being a pioneer in the application of these systems to content production, are reviewed. The main ethical dilemmas are identified and the challenges and difficulties faced by the journalist when using machine processing for the production, processing and distribution of newsworthy products are addressed. The main hypothesis with which it works is that there are still no documents that consider the potentialities and consequences of the application of these technologies in a responsible manner according to the ethical standards of journalism. It is understood that this is an area of relative vacancy in Spanish speaking and of growing relevance, so the article seeks to provide new reflections on the ethical implications that are highlighted in the aforementioned documents and to think about the future challenges of practice in newsrooms from a growing use of AI.

Resumen
The article analyzes citizen participation in the protest against President Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) in the framework of the 2019 presidential elections in Argentina. In this sense, a content analysis of the publications tagged with the hashtag #mmlpqtp on Twitter is carried out during three weeks –between October 14 and November 3, days after the presidential election that took place on October 27–. In the context of a complex, dynamic, and participatory media ecosystem, also marked by hyper-mediatization and the emergence of political protest movements on social networks –the Arab Spring, “Indignados” (outraged) in Spain, the Occupy Wall Street movement, #yosoy123 in Mexico and #niunamenos in Argentina–, it is proposed that the empirical approach carried out allows us to follow and analyze the conformation of a narrative universe of transmedia protest that expanded in different formats and followed various connected strategies based on the same slogan and shared disagreements.

Resumen
The article tests an interpretation about the historical role that the Homosexual Liberation Front (FLH) of Argentina tried to exercise in the framework of the transformations of the cultural and political field of the 1960s and mid-1970s in that country, and seeks to contribute to elucidate the reasons why the objectives of the FLH were not achieved –at least in this historical period–. If in other works we have pondered the agency margin of the FLH through the analysis of the interpretative framework elaborated as a social movement, here we seek to focus on the reverse of that positivity. That is to say, it aims to highlight the constraining factors that operated on such experience, both from historical and structural conditions –resolved through the concept of cultural and political field–, as well as from the interpretations that its members established about the said field. In this last sense, the work points out their actions and their key readings (interpretive framework) as intellectuals. Hence, the article slides between a sociology of culture in a historical key and a sociology of intellectuals in a cultural and political key.

Resumen
This article reflects on the amphibious and transdisciplinary ways of doing anthropology and journalism. Based on a qualitative, reflexive and inductive methodology that draws from fieldwork experiences in the Mexican southwest and from the review of journalistic and ethnographic works, the article analyses the meeting points and the differences between both disciplines in an era influenced by hybridization, transmutation, and hyperspecialization of the fields of knowledge. Likewise, it reflects on the transformative power of transdisciplinary studies in situations of armed conflict and extreme violence, where the testimony and the experience of the body as a witness need other disciplines –between literature and the pure sciences– to strengthen the locus of enunciation. Finally, it explores whether the hybrid uses made of journalistic-anthropological narration have generated polyphonic discourses that, from their trans condition, allow overcoming the hyper-presentism that traps a good part of journalism and bridge the temporal distance of the colonial matrix from which anthropology historically constructed its object of study.

Resumen
This article attempts to conduct conceptual research about the productivity of Framing as a theoretical-methodological tool to study the debates that take place in the media around the public policy measures that involve them. To do this, it focuses on the productive instance of information and positions itself in the critical paradigm of this comprehensive research program. During the phase of construction of news frames and public policies, the various intervening actors –journalist, media institutions, policy makers and civil society– engage in power disputes that leave their traces in the texts, whether they are media texts or policy documents. Finally, the fact that these are policies aimed at the media whose dynamics are analyzed poses specific challenges, given that these political and economic actors can use their coverage and editorials to promote their frames and shape public controversy over these policies while they must cultivate their legitimacy in dealing with public affairs. Finally, a triangulated methodological approach is proposed to study the instance of frame-building and the texts that are the product of this process.
