Resumen
The digital economy is characterized by multiple market failures, from the interaction between firms with their users and workers to the distribution of their goods and services. The economic nature of data and algorithms as productive inputs and intangible capital, together with the commercialization in networked platforms, shape markets with strong economies of scale that tend towards concentration. These characteristics afford digital platforms unprecedented market power, reflected in the "super-return" on their intangible capital. While economic theory would advise strong regulation and taxation of these firms and their returns, the digital nature of these firms itself makes it easier for them to avoid such regulation.

Resumen
The irruption of new technologies and digitalization have sparked a debate about the need of a review of the merger control mechanism. Especially given the growing trend for large incumbents, generally platforms, to acquire small and innovative nascent firms. Some of these transactions have escaped the scrutiny of competition agencies because they do not meet the thresholds required by law. Additionally, many other transactions that have been cleared may have had harmful effects on competition. These situations have led to the emergence of new theories of harm adapted to digital market features and have encouraged a great level of investigations and research resulting in recommendations, reports and legislative proposals adapted to the new reality.

Resumen
In this paper we provide a review of the literature regarding the economic analysis of digital markets and their most prominent agents, platforms. These markets share features that, due to the impact of digital technology, could hinder competition and create a tendency towards greater concentration. This situation could lead to significant reductions of social welfare and consumer surplus. Therefore, it is important to explore regulatory and competition policies that minimize these problems’ negative impact.

Resumen
Digital platforms are at the centre of the political agenda in all major economies. The complexity of these business models and their repercussions on the economy have caused the nature of the articulated measures to distance themselves from previous approaches. The digital agenda of the European Commission, and within it measures such as the Digital Markets Act, well reflect a trend in the evolution of forms and objectives of the regulatory approach. Its effectiveness in practice will determine, to a large extent, the accomplishment of the aims of the digital transition.

Resumen
The use of natural products for medicinal use has increased in recent years worldwide, Ecuador has followed this trend, many of these products are freely marketed, without a guarantee of safety since a large part of them do not have a certification of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), which is a mandatory parameter for any industry that produces natural products for medicinal use. The present article shows the steps to follow from the initial internal audit to verify the status of the company La Colmena based on the Check List which is granted by ARCSA, Ecuador (Agency for Regulation and Sanitary Control) where list the points to be met to obtain the BPM certification and its measures to correct the non-conformities found. The company La Colmena presented 25% of successful parameters in the initial internal audit, once the corrective actions were carried out, 83% compliance was presented, which guarantees that the company provides the market with quality and safe products for consumption. This work aims to develop a GMP protocol to be a guide for other companies in the same sector and qualification.

Resumen
In Ecuador, cassava production is one of the three raw materials with the highest annual growth rate, to get into the snacks market, it is necessary to maintain competitive products and prices due to the high supply. This study search how to relate the needs and expectations of customers with the design requirements of cassava snacks to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the company through the methodology of continuous improvement or quality function deployment. The 384 surveys were conducted and through the Likert measurement it was evidenced that there are variables such as flavor, standards fulfillment and texture. Where the technical solutions are related to the quality of the starchy vegetable and processes like frying time controlled by the quality department. The selection of the product characteristics over the competition through arrays was guaranteed and the demand for the product and sales revenues were increased.

Resumen
Customer satisfaction is one of the most important aspects today, one of the strategic objectives of the development of logistics systems being the improvement of customer service. In the article, it is to develop the procedure of the assurance model of the process in order to achieve the integration of the same that guarantee the service or product to the end customer. The application is made at the Center for Molecular Immunology, a Cuban biotechnology company. Techniques such as: direct observation, documentary analysis, bibliographic search and the use of software were applied. The Process Assurance Model was used as a tool, which constitutes a way of dynamically ensuring the conditions for the performance of a process, achieving a more comprehensive and flexible analysis, guaranteeing the performance of the process with higher levels of service.

Resumen
The tourism and hotel sector becomes a strategic apex for the socio-economic development of a country. The present investigation was carried out in a buffet restaurant, the lack of resources (human capital) limits the capacity of the service and the main problems facing the client are expressed in long waiting lists to access the restaurant and during service. The objective of this article is to propose a procedure for calculating the number of resources for the optimization of the restoration service. Some techniques and methods are used for its execution, such as: As-Is diagram; operational analysis; individual continuous observation, timing of element operations and mathematical simulation. With the investigation, the number of human resources necessary for the catering service in the buffet is calculated and it is demonstrated that through mathematical simulation and the timing of operations, the same results are obtained.
