The objective of this work evaluated the cost-benefit relationship of the implementation of productive technologies in a livestock production unit dedicated to the production of calves for supply. The technologies evaluated were: pregnancy diagnosis, evaluation of stallions, nutritional supplementation and health program. The results of the application of said technologies were observed in the following indicators: andrological evaluation, fertility rate, interval between calving, birth rate, weaned calves, and cost-benefit. Andrological evaluation indicated an improvement in the semen quality of bulls. Fertility rate, birth rate and weaned calves increased 33.5±1.3, 33.6±1.3 and 13.8±1.0 %, respectively. There was a reduction in interval between calving of 142.5±12.75 days, and a cost-benefit relationship of 1.00 was obtained. In conclusion, the cost-benefit relationship did not imply an economic advantage. However, the implementation of productive technologies presented a gradual increase in the reproductive and productive variables, managing to recover the investment made in the study period.

Mining plays an important role in the Mexican economy, with Sonora standing out as one of the main producers. The modification of the Mining Law and the creation of LitioMx underscore the strategic importance of lithium for the country. Bacadéhuachi, Sonora, has gained relevance due to a recent discovery of lithium, attracting diverse actors. The research seeks to evaluate the community's capacity to face the impacts of this mining activity. Using a sequential mixed research design, it was detected that Bacadéhuachi shows low resilience to lithium mining because it has not been informed of the findings and possible impacts and has not been considered in the decision-making process. The community is uninformed and disoriented about how to get involved properly, highlighting the need to establish mechanisms to detonate transformative resilience and effective local development.

By modifying its original structure, the mechanical properties of wood can be improved. The objective of the research was to evaluate the shear strength of solid, laminated, densified wood, and wood reinforced with carbon fiber. To compare the results of modified wood with those of solid wood, six configurations of samples of Cryptomeria japonica were prepared, and their shear strength and retention were determined. Compared to untreated solid wood, the shear strength of densified wood increases by 11%, laminated wood by 19%, and reinforced wood by 1%. On the other hand, the shear strength of laminated and densified wood decreases by 16%, while that of densified laminated and reinforced wood decreases by 23%.  In the same sense, the apparent elastic stiffness of glulam, densified and reinforced laminated timber increases relative to that of solid wood.

In the travel and tourism sector, organizational resilience has been defined as the capacity of enterprises and destinations to adapt and recover from a disruption. The main objective of this study is to analyze the level of organizational resilience in wine tourism in Valle de Guadalupe (Ensenada, Mexico). A qualitative method is used and 20 stakeholders are interviewed, a content analysis is performed with transcriptions. The main finding shows a reactive resilience to cope with disruptions promoted by COVID-19, as well as global warming and climate change. Our main conclusion highlights the strengthening of the anticipatory capacity of wine tourism businesses and destinations to lay the foundations for proactive and territorial resilience through innovation and collaboration.

Trees capture carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and store it in their parts like wood. This study evaluated the sawing process of the forest genera Pinus spp. and Abies sp., estimating the carbon stored in products and byproducts. A total of 101 logs per genus, with diameters ranging from 16 cm to 85 cm, were analyzed using a utilization coefficient to determine the percentage of round wood, sawn wood, and byproducts generated. Volumes of 32.27 m³ for Abies and 34.71 m³ for Pinus were sawn, yielding 20.80 m³ and 22.77 m³ of sawn wood, respectively. The byproducts for Abies, amounted to 11.47 m³, equivalent to 4.35 t of biomass and 2.19 t of carbon; for Pinus, byproducts were estimated at 11.94 m³, equivalent to 5.16 t of biomass and 3.59 t of carbon. These results indicate that the Pinus genus stores a greater amount of carbon in byproducts, implying a higher potential for carbon release upon decomposition.

Psychological well-being and mental health in the LGBTQ+ community have captured increased research interest. This study focuses on flourishing and anxiety in gay and bisexual men, highlighting differences and similarities in their experiences. Bisexuals were found to have higher rates of depression and anxiety, influenced by biphobia and discrimination. The research, conducted with 480 Peruvian men, revealed an inverse relationship between anxiety and flourishing, with bisexuals showing higher levels of anxiety and lower levels of flourishing. These results suggest that high psychological well-being acts as a protective factor against anxiety, underlining the importance of a supportive environment. Identifying these differences allows for the development of effective strategies to support gay and bisexual men, thereby promoting holistic well-being and helping to inform policies that address their specific needs.

The expansion of urbanization and the agricultural frontier, the loss of natural habitat, hunting, and mascotism are all threats to Puma concolor populations. These problems cause many specimens to be removedfrom their natural habitat and sent to rescue centers. The aim of this study was to analyze the management procedures and animal welfarestate of rescued and confiscated pumas that are derived to wildlife rescue centers in the province of Córdoba,  Argentina. Fifteen informants belonging to eight institutions involved in the management of the species in the province were interviewed; and the animal welfare state was evaluated through compliance with the “Five Domains of Animal Welfare”. It was found that: only four of the eight participating institutions have protocols; the training of personnel in charge of handling specimens is diverse and they do not follow common guidelines; the adequacy of the enclosures for the safeguarding of the species in rescuecenters varies between 50% and 90%; and the animal welfare state of the specimens kept in captivity varies between 50% and 85%. The present work is a contribution that constitutes a starting point to consider interinstitutional articulation actions and the adequacy of managementguidelines for pumas under human care in the province of Córdoba; as well as in other provinces of the country with similar problems and interested in responding to management actions for the species.
