In this paper, I analyze the play Galvarino, directed by Paula González Seguel. Frequently described by critics as a piece of autobiographical theatre, Galvarino stages the results of a research project lead by González. Through this research, González tries to recover the figure of her missing uncle, Galvarino Ancamil Mercado (a Mapuche teenager who was exiled in the Soviet Union after de military coup and then murdered by skinheads in Moscow's suburbs). The statement of this paper says that González's work adopts the shape of the work of kinship: A series of domestic and invisible labors that maintain family relations even in circumstances of death and forced migration. According to this statement, the main goal of this paper is to discover which theatre skills González has to operate to develop her work of restoration in contemporary Chile"”a cultural field haunted by racism and xenophobia. In the end, I conclude that González found in the voice of his missing uncle a secret language to start a revolt against oblivion.

This article hones in on the question of "˜race' in hip-hop artist Ana Tijoux's album Vengo (2014), which anticipates, in a musical format, the social demands which would emerge years later in Chile's Estallido Social. More specifically, it dissects the ways in which this socially-engaged rapper transcodes (Hall, "Representation" 270) the racialized categories of "˜indio' and "˜the south' from a position of colonial difference (Mignolo 61). I argue that, by adopting this subversive and historicizing semiotic strategy, she casts these oppressive labels into productive political subject positions from which to level received racial hierarchies rooted in colonialism and reinforced by neoliberalism. They offer the individuals who are classified as such a blueprint to mobilize themselves and enact alternative ways of being; to come up for their rights; and to resist the inequalities that are perpetuated and naturalized by a system of organization which ranks them as inferior.

In this article, we focus on an anthropological reading of the text "Tenants in the hacienda of His Excellency", by the Chilean writer Tancredo Pinochet Le Brun. We see here an anthropology and specifically an intuitive ethnography, but one that appeals to the contemporary principles of literary anthropology and to the origins of national anthropological discourse prototypically defined by the work of Rodolfo Lenz and Nicolas Palacios.

This paper reviews the literature on metalinguistic reflection (MR) in mother tongue linked to writing, considering linguistic and discursive aspects of morphological, syntactic, pragmatic character and those related to the construction of discursive genres, in empirical research of the period 2009-2019, developed in educational contexts. Empirical knowledge about RM is fragmented, in part, by the different denominations of this phenomenon in the literature. The results of the research that refer to the MR phenomenon under different terms are systematized to theoretically and methodologically nourish the field of educational linguistics and advance the conceptualization of MR. Six themes emerged from the analysis of the 30 studies found: characterization of student MR, teachers' conceptions of MR; the impact of metalinguistic interactions; teachers' knowledge for the development of MR; the importance of a common metalanguage, and relations between MR and writing quality. This review highlights that conscious reflection on language makes it possible to explicitly address the rhetorical demands of writing and connect linguistic resources with effects, making it possible to improve the writing process and the quality of texts, making their development very relevant in educational contexts.

Verbal stereotypic indices in written texts by people diagnosed with schizophrenia consists of an analysis of written texts by patients diagnosed with this pathology, within the framework of a creative writing task. Both lexical and grammatical structures were analyzed and quantified in order to find linguistic evidence, which allows the visualization of functional deterioration in self-monitoring abilities, fundamental in writing. To achieve this, we applied the Type and Token Ratio, and we evaluated the length of words and sentences; and, finally, a morphological parameterization was carried out to visualize the lexical repertoire by grammatical categories. The results obtained in the groups of participants with pathology show a poor performance in the indicators studied. This shows that it is possible to propose an operable characterization of differential traits in the writing of people diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The teaching practices of reading in Chile are little diverse and present mostly scarce cognitive challenge. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyse the types of support to mediate the reading in teaching practices of teachers in La Araucanía Region, Chile. Regarding the methodology, the design was an study of descriptive and qualitative cases and the participants were 11 teachers from 7 public schools which classes were videotaped to then analyse their types of support to mediate the reading. Finally, it was identified that the types of support such as teaching to understand and helping to understand are presented simultaneously being the latter the most predominant. In this sense, it is possible verify that the teachers have focused on motivating than to develop strategies.

This paper analyzes the representations of female disease and deformity in the works of Bolivian writer Adela Zamudio, and Brazilian writer Júlia Lopes de Almeida. The purpose is to delve into the different uses and resignifications of the pathological metaphor by female writers, in dialogue with modernist and decadent aesthetics, and naturalist ideology. Whereas texts framed within patriarchal modernist -decadent aesthetics and ideologies emphasized the representation of female disease as an aesthetic ideal; and whereas literary texts framed within naturalism portrayed the sick female figure as the culprit of social degeneration; Adela Zamudio and Júlia Lopes de Almeida depict different representations of sick women. In their works, pathological conditions and deformities are far from being deterministic features nor aesthetic ideals, but critical metaphors of an industrial modernity that condemns women to invisibility and marginality. By depicting disease as critical metaphor of industrial modernity, these texts claim for women's access to the means of production. Besides fostering more complex readings of disease in the period, these texts elicit intersectional problematic overseen by the critical tradition, since texts demonstrate to what extent hegemonic and idealized archetypes of the feminine (such as the bourgeois' "angel of the house") are marked by strong socio-racial connotations that turn them into an exclusive privilege for women belonging to a specific social class and racial group.

The article analyzes "Lorenzita" (1898) by Manuel Atanasio Fuentes, a text that can be considered as the first literary manifestation that addresses the issue of sexual dissidence in Peru. An attempt is made to show that this text shows the rejection of the leadership elites regarding the body of the homosexual, which is considered a sick and abject body. This position is related to the disciplining and sanitation practices that this elite develops against the identities that it is thought should not be included in the modernization projects of the Peruvian nation at the end of the 19th century.
