Pedro Barrondo Garay, militant of Acción Nacionalista Vasca (ANV), founder of the Kaiku rowing club and influential personality in the cultural life of Sestao at the beginning of the 20th century, was one of the only two people shot in the “Azkatasuna” engineer battalion during the Spanish Civil War. Through the judicial processes that marked his political life and subsequent repression, this article will analyse the nature of the retrospective justice after the fall of the Northern Front and the circumstances surrounding his conviction, as well as the ideological features of a cultured and self-taught man very different from the classical image of “gudari”, belonging to the rural world and affiliated to PNV.

In this article, I analyse the ideological trajectory of the IRA in Ireland and ETA in Spain between 1966 and 1981. The hypothesis I defend is that, during that period, the two organizations were influenced by leftist ideological elements that the New Left had revitalized during the 1960s. The sources I have used were internal documents of both organizations, as well as books and academic articles dealing with the subject matter. The fact of analysing both organizations from a comparative approach has allowed me to discover the differences and similarities in terms of their ideological trajectory of the two most important radical nationalist movements in Western Europe during the second half of the 20th century.

The present work investigates the recent historiographical production on the logic of development of post-revolutionary Russia. It uses the dynamics that emerged from the intertwining of the Bolshevik programmatic pretensions promoted from the state instance with the actions of the workers’ movement as the main organizing criterion of the analysis. Contrary to the perspective which interpreted the revolutionary process of 1917 and its eventual development on the basis of a theoretical compartmentalization into mutually exclusive historical periods, it is argued that the approach proposed under this prism allows to inscribe the results of the research in a horizon of Longue Durée.

The strategic location of the first Mexico City at the beginning of the 16th century was by no means accidental. Although the first establishment of Hernán Cortés and his men was located on the mainland, at some point the conqueror changed his mind and placed his city in the same place where Tenochtitlan was. In this article I will start from a description of the defensive characteristics in certain medieval Islamic cities, to later establish certain parallels with the city that the conqueror planned and, thus, establish a narrative that interweaves the evidence that historical, archaeological, and historical sources have thrown at us. urban planning.

Antonio Hernández Mancha led the Spanish political right between 1987 and 1989. During those years he became the president of People’s Alliance with the objective to renew the forces of conservatism. His renewed image, his youthful air and his populist and cheerful tone were not enough to face the crisis that Spanish conservatives suffered during those years. The strategic mistakes, the internal divisions, the problems in its territorial delegations, the rise of rival formations or the doctrinal shortcomings of Hernández Mancha weakened his leadership. It was this situation that made the right wing aware of the need to face a refoundation that would end up giving rise to the People’s Party as a new center-right force. Although Hernández Mancha would start that path as a way of survival, his weakness would prevent him from completing the journey, positioned as the missing link in the transition of the Spanish right.

This article starts from the consideration that postmodern time treasures a Neo-baroque aesthetic that has been taking shape since the eighties in parallel with the development of globalization and neoliberalism. Thus, seeking to approach the aesthetic expression of that time, in this work we will propose that Dallas (CBS, 1978-1991) is a key work in the development and establishment of central Neo-baroque poetics. To do this, we will look at the last episode of its third season, "A divided family", as a point of reference from which to develop three fundamental concepts to understand the series in particular and the Neo-baroque in general: ideology, seriality and globalization.     Key words: Dallas, globalization, ideology, Neo-baroque, seriality.

Historiography has shown that, in the rural world of Castile during the Modern Age, the constitution of a new family entailed multiple connotations. This article analyses the structure of the estates on the basis of the dowry payment letters of two families from Almagro in the early 7th century. The aim is to observe whether, through these marriage contracts, the bride and groom and their families projected a desire for social and economic advancement, or, on the contrary, they only constituted the basic goods for the beginning of a new family group.

The proclamation of the moderated Law of municipalities in 1840 caused a stir of enormous dimensions in the Spanish liberal regime. The Progressive Party decided to carry out a revolution as a consequence of feeling threatened by said law and by a package of new laws promoted by the moderated party whose final objective was to push the enlightenment out of the positions of power that the enlightened had articulated: the city councils, the press, and the National Militia. The aim of this project is to analyze in general terms this uprising that took place in Spain, to, afterwards, look further into Huesca’s 1840 Revolution by means of its city council and of the “Junta” that was established in the month of September of that same year.
