Based on information provided by a set of epistolary sources found in the archives of the Salesian congregation -which confront and, on occasions, deny institutional accounts-, the following work attempts to build a more complex vision of the experiences traversed by children and young people inside the Salesian boarding schools in Argentina, during the first decades of the 20th century. If amorevolezza, as a distinctive feature of the culture of care in the congregation, was intended to signify the love, benevolence, affection, gentleness and patience that the assistant should have towards the assisted person, the documentation shows that hidden forms of abuse and violence were also part of the daily life experienced by their students.

In the summer of 1919, the Pro-Women's Rights Association, led by Elvira Rawson de Dellepiane, carried out a national campaign with the purpose of obtain adhesions of support of the bills that were in preparation and that would be presented by Union Cívica Radical deputy, Rogelio Araya on July: Civil Emancipation and Female Suffrage. This article examines the interested corpus made by more than ninety letters received from different parts of Argentine. How did the lack of women´s right impact in everyday life? What was so imperative to modify them? What scope should the reform have? What kind of future did they imagine with more and better rights? These were some of the topics on which women and men focused here arguments to adhere to this project.

This article proposes to reflect on the difficulties involved in the historical analysis of the judicial records of the first Juvenile Court that functioned in Argentina, as well as to highlight its potential for understanding everyday life in past scenarios. To do so, it focuses on the judicial processes faced by boys accused of committing crimes in the city of La Plata between 1938 and 1942. From these purposes, it warns that these documents illuminate the way in which the judicial agents evaluated the behaviors and moralities of boys, girls, young people and their families, as well as the tactics of those who were configured as denouncers and denounced. In the same way, it assures that a reading against the grain of the files offers clues to analyze the construction of young people from popular sectors as a social problem through the prism of their daily practices, their identities and their conflictive coexistence in neighborhood spaces.

The paper proposes an approach on the potentialities of the municipal books of minutes as sources for the study of diverse historiographical problems within the framework of the national territory`s regime. For that purpose, it focuses in the municipal archives located in the current province of Misiones, that hold documentations of greater antiquity regarding this period. Firstly, the general characteristics of these sources are presented, addressing both their most favorable and unfavorable aspects. Afterwards, the documentation held in these archives is presented, indicating its current accessibility and conservation. Lastly, several historiographical problems that could benefit from consulting these sources are appointed.

Within the context of a punitive expedition towards the Chaco region in 1731, several companies of the militias of Córdoba deserted and returned to the city refusing to subordinate to the lieutenant in charge. This episode was registered in some historical documents found in a file at the Archivo Histórico de la Provincia de Córdoba. That file also contains another document, related to a previous event, but which also concerns the same lieutenant and militias. This paper has a double objective: on the one hand, we analyze the desertion based on a careful reading of the different documents, seeking to explain the different edges –political, socioeconomic and interethnic– of the conflict. On the other hand, we present a methodological reflection on the documents that compound the file, focusing on their formats, the later assemble in one file, and some issues concerning the field work in the historical archives.

In this paper we propose to analyze the characteristics of recent studies on corruption, in the framework of the so-called “New” Cultural History of Political Corruption, and in the renewal of the historical sources used by researchers in their inquiries. Also, we examined the multiplicity of documents and archives available to approach, under these new paradigms, the allegations of corruption that surrounded the autonomist management of Governor José Gálvez (1886-1890) and that were linked to the scandal of the “Banco Provincial de Santa Fe”.
