In Argentina at the beginning of the twentieth century, the superior leadership and officers of the Army promoted projects of change in that Force that some historians characterize as processes of modernization, bureaucratization, and military professionalization. This article aims to analyze a fundamental document for the bureaucratic administration of the armies and the professional careers of the military: the Personal File. This document existed in the armies and militias of the Ancien Régime, but in much of the nineteenth century it ceased to be administered and preserved systematically. Law 4.707 Organic of the Army of 1905 and law 9.675 of Cadres and Promotions of the Army of 1915 fixed its content. In the Personal File, generic models of bureaucratic administration and professional career are expressed, but also individual profiles and trajectories. Therefore, they are an indispensable source for a history of the military and the Armed Forces.

In the last decades, various judicial files have been frequently consulted in order to address multiple issues from various perspectives. The incorporation of different judicial documents into historical research has led to reflect on their potentialities and limitations, as well as the care that must be taken when approaching their analysis. Precisely, in this historiographic line the present work is inscribed, which focuses its gaze on a little-explored source such as the books of Agreements and Sentences of the Court of Appeal of the province of Buenos Aires. In the light of our own research experience, it is our intention to reflect on the possibilities that these documents offer to understand the administration of justice and also to unravel some reasons that explain the changes they experienced in terms of their richness as a judicial source.

The periodical publications of institutions for the purpose of military associations, such as the Revista del Círculo Militar / Revista Militar, have been scarcely used due to their character as a historiographical source for the study of the past of the war and of the military. The objective of this article is to analyze the role of the publications of the Military Circle, between 1910 and 1920, in order to determine its incidence on the process of professionalization of the Army and its derivations towards the conformation of a military thought at the beginning of the 20th century. In this sense, we maintain that the dissemination bodies of the Círculo Military pursued associationist goals that shaped the conceptions and professional practices of the officers, and their registration in the social, cultural and political environment of the early twentieth century.

In this article we intend to disseminate and enhance the value of the series “Creation, officialisation and nomination of schools” from the Education Fund of the General Archive of Entre Ríos. The documentation that comprise it constitute a privileged material to study through the process of creation and officialization of schools, the link between families, state officials and rurality in the province of Entre Ríos. Throughout this paper, we first highlight some texts that challenge us to propose an approach to the files. Secondly, we describe the files, taking into account the epistolary demands that gave rise to them, the documentation attached to the request and the administrative process involved in the creation and officialisation of schools. Finally, we present a possible agenda of topics to be explored in depth in the light of this documentation.

The purpose of the article is to problematize the characteristics of the minutes of sessions of municipal governments and to point out their potentialities as sources for the study of municipalization processes. The analysis arises from research on the relations between municipal and provincial governments in the process of national state building and, more specifically, from the implementation of the first rural municipalities in the Estado de Buenos Aires. It also seeks to give greater visibility to the current municipal archives and deliberative councils as repositories of the books of minutes of sessions.

In this article, we intend to reconstruct and consider the history of the Historical Archive of Communism in the city of Rosario. At the same time, we seek to give an account of the current state of this documentary repository. The aim is to analyze an ongoing experience that is part of the voluntary work of over two decades and that has been determined by the activities of a political organization, in this case, the Communist Party of Argentina. In addition, the article presents the materials available in the archive and reflects on its current status and potential.

Between 1898 and 1932, ten volumes of the Collection of Military Laws and Decrees were published, whose author was Ercilio Domínguez, an officer of the Argentine Army. This article is a small study on said material, trying to link it to the incidents of the author's professional life, but also explaining the order of the archive that is exposed in the collection. A link between Domínguez’ work and the background of metamorphosis of the military world in those years is also proposed.

In this work we have wanted to approach the enormous documentation that is found in the municipal archives of Cordoba regarding the implementation of the autarchic policy by the new Francoist authorities after the end of the Spanish Civil War. To do this, we have consulted the archives of Aguilar and Montilla where we have found a remarkable amount of information that allows us to better understand the mechanisms put in place by the authorities of the "New State" to establish absolute control over the market, in aspects such as production, distribution, prices, etc. The documents handled, which almost always had to be completed by the citizens, allow us to know what the day-to-day life of the autarchy was like in the municipalities.

The article analyzes the gastronomic offer of Mar del Plata city from the advertisements that appeared in the newspaper La Capital between 1939 and 1990. The text seeks to account for the potentialities and limitations of advertisements as sources for a history of the consumption. These not only provide information about the establishments and their services, but also convey ideals, expectations, customs and experiences that are synthesized around the practice of “eating out”. Based on the information present in the advertisements, we support the idea that the heterogeneity that characterized the Mar del Plata gastronomic market during much of the last century was due to the confluence in the city of different migratory traditions that, likewise, were combined with the phenomenon of mass tourism. This gave rise to a diversified supply and demand that met needs related to food, but above all with sociability and recreation.
