The so-called senhal or poetic mask behind which the name of the beloved lady is hidden implies important problems for translation, since both meaning and phonic form are relevant, so that the translator must strive to preserve both elements in his target text (TT) and to insert them in a context in which the effect could be as similar as possible to the source text (ST). Considering this problem, this study proposes the analysis of the translations into Spanish, Portuguese, Galician and Catalan of sonnets 194, 196, 197 and 198 of Petrarch’s Rerum vulgarium fragmenta. In the four target texts, starting with the senhal “l’aura”, the different strategies used for translating this kind of lexical-semantic element as well as the contexts of its appearance will be analysed.

In the present research we analyze some of the main mechanisms involved in the construction of micro-dialogical humor (memes): homophony, homography, paronymy, synonymy, antonymy, holonymy and meronymy, hyperonymy and hyponymy, polysemy, semantic fields, decontextualization, contextual shock, invention of terms through morphological inflection or wordplay made from phraseological units. From an ad hoc corpus –extracted from humorous collective profiles from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram– we present a lexical-semantic and pragmatic study on the generation and interpretation of micro-dialogical humor, whose objective is the identification and distinction of the mechanisms used for its construction and the explicitness of the implicit contents involved in its comprehension. The study uses as differential indicators the “extensionality”, the “paradigm”, and the “mental space” of the trigger words and analyzes the functioning of the associative flows that take place in the ostensive-inferential processes responsible for the humor in micro-dialogues. As a conclusion, we detect 1) structural patterns linked to unpredictability and surprise in relation to the exposure of stupidity and incomprehension and 2) micro-dialogues in which creativity and lateral thinking create humor through inferable contents.

In the West, the lyre and the harp have been adopted as metaphors of poetry for more than two millennia. It is in this context that the topic of the aeolian harp in the history of Western literature should be understood. The objective of this article is to trace a path of the various connotations that the topic of the aeolian harp has acquired in Latin American and Spanish literature, from its appearance in the eighteenth century to the twentieth century, beyond the fixed semantic core that it has had in all cultural periods. As a result of this analysis, one can observe how the literary representation of this instrument has been channeled primarily as a metapoetic topos. We conclude that, having originated in Northern Europe, the aeolian harp has been incorporated into Spanish and Latin American literature as an allegory of the poet and the poetic creative process. Fernán Caballero, Rosalía de Castro, Gaspar Núñez de Arce, Melchor de Palau y Catalá, and Fernando Sánchez de Fuentes offer us variations in Spanish literature, while José Asunción Silva, José María Rivas Groot, Enrique González Martínez, Justo Sierra, Fabio Fiallo, and, above all, Rubén Darío, offer us examples in Latin America.

Spatial and temporal distancing characterizes Elena Garro's work and biography. It’s a constant topic, synthesized with the term “exile”, applied as a guideline for analyzing a set of stories. Beginning with definitions and reflections about exile, as well as a discussion about such a condition in the author, to later analyze the theme in the stories, as a narrative construction and communicative purpose. In La semana de colores, the characters who leave their place of origin for declared reasons will predominate: economic and emotional; the world of childhood is established as a construction of the paradise from which the adult has been banished. While in Andamos huyendo Lola, the issue of distancing already acquires a central place in the concerns of the characters. The conclusions propose a vision of the theme as a resource for an interpretation of the common elements in this portion of Elena Garro's work.

We analyzed the short-animated film by Kōji Yamamura Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor (Kafuka: Inaka Isha, 2007) using some of G. Genette's conceptual proposals. The analysis allows us to observe how the nonsense, ironies, identifications, contrasts, and other literary elements like hypotext are emphasized and intensified in the hypertextual film version. The film shows a lucid look at the workings of Kafka's tale and an imagination expressed through poetic and other elements of animated film. The film introduces those elements into the new graphic and audiovisual version of the story. The work achieves syncretism from affinities between the adapted work and some characteristics of Kyōgen performing art introduced in this film.

Objective: to analyze the interrelationships that exist between entrepreneurial orientation, corporate social responsibility, total quality management, and how they influence the hotels' performance. In addition, the moderating effect of entrepreneurial orientation on the relationship between corporate social responsibility and performance is examined. Finally, the mediating effect of total quality management in the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance is analyzed. Methodological design: it is an explanatory cross-sectional investigation. A 32-item survey was applied to 584 3-star and higher hotels in the United States and Mexico. The statistical technique of the structural equations model by partial least squares was used. Results: the existence of a direct relationship between most of the factors analyzed among themselves and the increase in the performance of the hotels is evident. There is a strong connection between total quality management and corporate social responsibility. However, the entrepreneurial orientation only influences the total quality and not social responsibility as a direct relationship or as a moderating effect. Finally, there is a mediating effect of total quality about entrepreneurial orientation and performance. Research limitations: the main limitation was access to survey hotels due to the covid-19 pandemic. Findings: all factors influence better performance; however, the simultaneous adoption of all of them does not allow maximizing all the benefits. On the contrary, it ends up generating heavy expenditure of time and resources about the additional increase in performance.

Purpose: This article has two objectives: 1) Togather controlled and uncontrolled studies that provide evidence of the efficacy of Telepsychology onadherence to treatment indicators and behaviors of therapeutical adherence such as diet, physical activity, medication consumption, capillary glucose monitoring, foot care and Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HbA1C) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus; 2) to analyze the methodological characteristics of the studies.   Methodological design: Considering PRISMA criteria and thePIT search strategy, six databases were consulted: Pubmed, OVID (PsycINFO and PsycArticles), Scopus, CINAHL and Web of Science.   Results: A total of 1,547 articles were identified, yetonly five randomized controlled trials, met the inclusion criteria. The assessedbehaviors and indicators of adherence to treatment were: HbA1C (n =3), physical activity (n = 2), medication intake (n =1), capillary glucose monitoring (n =1), and diet (n =1). In two studies, asynchronous-type Telepsychology (i.e., via websites and apps) improved HbA1C, medication intake, capillary glucose monitoring, and diet; results on physical activity differ.   Research limitations: Since only two studies described information on effect size and confidence interval, a meta-analysis is not feasible.   Findings: Telepsychology based on asynchronous cognitive-behavioral therapy shows encouraging results in improving glycemic control and therapeutic adherence behaviors in people with diabetes mellitus. The identifiedresearch was conducted in the United States, Europe and Oceania.

Objective: The main goal of this paper consists in analyzing the potential of mixed methods used in the study of two agrifood systems: Iberian ham (Spain) and chorizo from the Toluca Valley (Mexico).   Research limitations: Opposing cultural contexts that allowed different strategies to be used which sought not only to collect information from the diverse actors in each system but also face the methodological challenges that currently prevail. These challenges are linked to the diversity of the actors themselves and to the use of new technologies for data collection.  Methodological design: To solve these methodological shortcomings, mixed methods have been implemented with the support of technological innovations.    Results: Results allow us to verify that the employment of mixed methods is an excellent means for leveraging resources effectively and efficiently. In Spain, employing a self-administered survey enabled rural manufacturers to control the timing of their response. Regarding consumer results, these prove that collecting data via smartphone is highly recommended. In the case of Mexico, starting the research quatitatively allowed the building of trust, a factor which is critical given the levels of violence in Mexican society that generate mistrust and, ultimately, lead to a refusal to participate in academic research.   Findings: The main contribution of this article is that, based on real and complex cases, it provides evidence of the potential and strategies to be followed for analyzing agrifood systems in a cross-cultural research. Mixed methods emerge as an excellent means for collecting data in global dynamics.

Objective: The objective of this work was to analyze the role of connectivity in the Bajio Region in Mexico for the achievement of its economic competitiveness as well as to establish whether it is a factor that grants it an absolute competitive advantage.   Methodological Design: A review of the theoretical approaches on globalization, competitiveness and connectivity was carried out, particularly those that establish a relationship between connectivity and competitiveness. Information on the availability of connectivity in the region was collected as well as economic variables regarding exports (greater volume export subsectors, needed personnel, companies and their gdp input). A connectivity index for the region was made through information from the land, air, and maritime connectivity indexes. Last, the correlation coefficient and the Pearson coefficient were calculated between connectivity and economic variables.  Results: A relationship between the connectivity index and the competitiveness of the region were found, measured through exports, through the correlation coefficient and the Pearson coefficient between these variables which indicate a positive yet not robust correlation in the region.  Limitations of the investigation: The lack of documented information regarding the means of communication from official sources.   Findings: It was found that the connectivity that the region has is not the same in all of the states that integrate it which favors that companies concentrate in those places where there is greater coverage and accessibility of physical infrastructure, so that although connectivity constitutes an absolute competitive advantage, it is noted that not all territories have this advantage to the same extent.
